Here is the Steam player statistics Snapshot for today:

Today, more people played Skyrim, a game that's been out a year and five months, than the brand new, highly acclaimed Bioshock Infinite.

I personally liked the new Bioshock Infinte. It's very pretty and smooth, but I really can't get into the game like I did with Skyrim. The game is extremely linear and it's like watching a movie, rather than playing a game, and exploration is very limited. I put in maybe 10 hours into this game and I've gotten tired of it. I'm back to catching butterflies and walking around Skyrim doing stuff.

I will probably end up playing Bioshock for maybe 50 hours if I'm lucky. On the other hand, I've already spent 500+ hours in Skyrim.

Kudos to the developers at Bethesda Game Studio for making such an engrossing game.

I agree with you. I heard Bioshock Infinite is a good game from some friends though and I'll be trying it out soon.

I love bioshock infinite. Can't really compare it with Skyrim though. Its a FPS. Not a RPG, so of course its going to be more linear because it has a story to tell ( a very good one I might add). Really, but I'm shocked so many people are still playing Skyrim. Kudos to beth, and hope for more DLC.

Nothing unexpected, is it. I might be playing Skyrim when the next Bioshock comes out :frog:

For once, I agree with you.

Obviously a good amount of people are still playing Skyrim, TES games are renowned for their longevity.

...People are still making mods for Morrowind for [censored]'s sake. It's a very loyal fanbase. This is...not surprising.

Not the Infinite isn't a good game, but let's face it, Skyrim offers more freedom of choice.

Just finished a good run with Infinite, and it's a good game...But again...You can't compare the two...They're not even the same genre. It's like trying to compare Halo to Persona. Game is good, a stealth mechanic would be nice...but I'm not complaining. It blows the previous two out of the water by miles...It's credit to the franchise.

I want Serana to meet Elizabeth and see who is more ADD.

...Whatever do you mean? You mean like how quickly Elizabeth is to forgive me trying to kidnap her to New York rather than Paris? Or how she's throwing Silver Eagles at my head with two seconds?

It's linear, that's why.

So are a lot of games. Infinite is a game about narrative, not freedom.
--I mean, not to point out the obvious, but not all video games are, or should, be mirrors of the Elder Scrolls franchise. Just throwing that out there.

There's nothing wrong with a game being linear, its just, Skyrim is vastly different that many games out there today.
