LR Enemies Speculation Thread

Post » Tue Aug 02, 2011 1:35 pm

Let's see, each new DLC gives a brand new challenging enemy to contend with, for example:
  • Dead Money- the Ghost People
  • Honest Hearts- The White Legs and Yao Guai
  • Old World Blues- Lobotomites, Robo-scorpions, and many other robots

We don't know yet what enemies the Divide will hold for the Courier, but I'm guessing that Ciphers tribe will be present at the Divide and possibly more mutated monsters found exclusively at the Divide. Maybe a different breed of deathclaws will be found, or perhaps new robots or maybe even Dragons. Post what new enemies you would like to see at the Divide!

My guess, remnants of the old world not the enclave but people who survived in an underground area in the divide since before the war. Most likely new creatures although a new breed of deathclaw would be sweet XD.

Some sort of creature that has adapted to the storms.

I wouldn't be surprised if a new type of robot showed up, along with altered versions of robots we've already seen.
Most likely there will be some sort of ghouls.
I'd like to see two types of humans, one type that has de-volved like the troggs. And the other more advanced, like post vault dwellers.

Ciphers . . . I wonder if Ulysses is one? The art on his arms, his cause, perhaps it's because of them? But I think your right, Ciphers are likely involved because part of the "Things to Come!" challenge is given when Elijah mentions them. That's kind of exciting.

Anyway, I'd prefer humanoids or just humans to a bunch of new creatures. Even better if said humans/humanoids are elusive, stalking you and ambushing you along the way.

Not only that, but Ulysses refers to factions as "Tribes" like when he was talking to Christine about the BoS! :hubbahubba:

Cazadors (they're just about everywhere and have been in the last two DLC's).

Maybe mutated humans (More trogs?), and more than likely some humans with DLC weapons and armor.

Oh almost forgot Super Mutants. Maybe some have settled there.

To summarise; many, many Deathclaws. And Deathjaws. Bring your 11m SMGs folks.

In all seriousness;

http://bethblog.com/index.php/2011/07/19/old-world-blues-available-today/

Over the course of Old World Blues, we watched and paid respect to some of the 50s science fiction films from Brain from the Planet Arous, Things to Come!, Forbidden Planet, When Worlds Collide, the Deadly Mantis, Tarantula, the Mole People (although we pushed some of that out for the next DLC), the Monolith Monsters, and more.

Mole People :goodjob:

This is the film he's referring to, that apparently will influence Lonesome Road.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mole_People_(film)

I like the idea that there is a community of albino tribals living beneath the uninhabitable Divide. That would rock my socks!

I'm thinking there will be Giant Tarantulas based on the sound file for the Sonic Emitter. Unless the sound came from some Sci-Fi movie (possible, considering mobius' affinity for them).

Otherwise, there has to be a giant tarantula attacking you to be able to record a giant tarantula attack, right?

I also expect to see some sort of enclave or vault society, based un Ulysses. The cipher connection is interesting too. Maybe there was an intelligence agency, codebreakers or something, in a hidden vault that survived.

I want to see Super Mutants. Or at least some kind of Super Mutant-derived enemy.

Dead Money gave us Abominations (and a radroach here and there)
Honest Hearts gave us Humans, Animals, and Mutated Insects
Old World Blues gave us Robots, Humans, Abominations, and Mutated Insects

The only thing missing from the categories of enemies are Super Mutants.
Plus, I want to be able to get Super Mutant Massacrer easier.

There's like 20 Super Mutants in the whole game (not including respawns), I need more.

Only if they made sense and there's a good reason for a group to be there. Personally, I'm waiting for a good successor to Marcus as a super mutant companion (Fawkes and Lily didn't cut it, Fawkes was a different species and didn't have a enough depth and Lily was annoying and also without depth). I couldn't care less about cannon fodder super mutant enemies, especially because super mutants will be extinct eventually with no means of reproduction (both species). Anyway, nothing suggests Super Mutants would fit as an enemy and the voice actors and characters that have been detailed (likely the only ones) don't indicate a mutant or mutants.

I think possibly recycle these creatures from http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Van_Buren_creatures.

For example, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mutant_cannibal.
