This makes me want to go back and do the Main Quest again; I haven't been in an Oblivion gate for a while. :)

I'd have to say that the enemies I find hardest to deal with aren't the creatures at all. It's certain classes of NPCs, who have fighting tactics that are hard to respond to. I always have trouble in Marauder dungeons, because you never know if the enemy around the next corner is an Orc with an enchanted ax or a battlemage. I find I'm always having to react to their attack, and never seem to have quite the right set of defenses ready.

Then there's the Conjurers and Necromancers, who throw a summon at you, and then run away. They're hard to hit; I always seem to be trying to run them down and corner them, all the while being beaten on the back by whatever monster they've summoned.

Very good point I always get irked by them I always call them cowards but then I think about it if I was a mage like them I would do the same thing

It all depends on the character I am playing. If I have a melee character, than wisps can be a real pain, especially at low levels. In order for me to get close enough to do anything, they are close enough to curse my stats and absorb my health. Ugh. OTOH with mages and archers they are easy, since I can kill them before they can ever close with me (Detect Life is a huge help here). The same with conjurers/necromancers. Teresa kills them with one shot of her bow - without poison, and with her sneak, they never see her coming. But again with a sword and board melee fighter, they are a huge pain, as I always have to chase them. On the flip side, goblins are a real pain for an archer like Teresa, because they have a zillion hit points, and are almost guaranteed to last long enough to make it into melee with her. Yet they are a pushover for a tank.

I think you've hit upon the reason the game is so rewarding. There are challenges for every character type, and there is no one type that is "ideal" for all situations. :)

I run for the hills when I see will-o-the-wisps, not because I can't beat them but because for some reason every time I kill one I get expelled from the Mages Guild rofl

At lower levels, mountain lions. My usually slow poke characters can't do much about them other than jumping onto a rock, shooting arrows, and hope the lion doesn't find its way up.

I avoid tedium by lowering the difficulty slider to a comfortable level.

Enemies that take too long to kill, just because it is boring.

With my mage character it was anything that casts silence.

My mystic archer's fear is that some of her foes (especially magey type ones) might use detect life to find her. Fortunately, they seem a little dumb for that. Silence is indeed a bummer, but homemade dispel potions can help. In fact, probably every pure mage should probably carry some restore magicka and dispel potions. As long as you can keep your magic mojo groove going, everything can be magically dealt with. :)

Also Saviour′s Hide and Mundane Ring with their resist magic. Lothran uses them together with a custom resist/absorb magicka spell

Use Goldbrand then :flamethrower:

Goldbrand isn't just lying there for me to take it, besides my personality doesn't like relying on enchanted items like Goldbrand that are attained from quests etc.
Besides a enchanted item in MY game isn't really useful for low level

Well at least they are slow and not too bright, their pincers are sharp though. :talk:

I avoid no generic enemies, though there are these darn "special" enemies. I try to avoid the named liches and that stuff. Is more... Unsettling than usual.

On my vampire character there aren't many mobs that are set to be aggressive. Most wildlife will leave her alone as long as a weapon isn't drawn. All undead except liches (nether liches are cool) are considered friendly.

That being said whenever I run across an ogre or minotaur I have a good 2-3 minute fight on my hands. Doesn't matter how you fight them. Their only purpose in life is to tear **** up.

When I was around the teens in levels, I mostly just did my best to avoid spriggans, bears, and will o' the wisps. Then, I hit 50 Destruction and made some spells that made short work of just about any enemy in the game. (Think elemental damage + weakness to magic + weakness to given element, used by touching a few times in a few seconds. Made a variant with a second of paralyze once I hit 75 Destruction. No enemy is hard with this.)

Now, though, I am wearing gear that makes me faster, and using a spell that boosts my speed every few seconds, so I just run past most enemies unless they would fill a nice soul gem for me. (If my character had a bumper sticker, it would be "I break for Minotaur Lords.") I stopped going into random caves and mines because I'm not very interested in wonton slaying without a quest to frame it anymore. It was kind of getting repetitive, and there are certainly more than enough hours of quests to keep me busy.

Is that a mod, or is that a natural aspect of playing a vampire? That sounds awesome.

Been awhile since i last played Oblivion but I hated any mob that required a 100 arrows or an half and hour of slash and block to kill. At the end the end of shivering isle i turn the difficulty down simply to kill stuff quicker.

On my mage Character anything with reflect spell or absorb would give me problems the Xivilai or whatever its called was proabably the worst it summoning clanfears which for a close quarter weak mage can be a threat
