So in fallout 3, i found out that energy weapons can be hard to find, and you need some dlc for the better ones.

When do you start finding energy weapons in NV ? and would it be worth going energy weapons instead of guns?

also anyone know some easy to get to locations that have energy weapons?

I would have replied faster, but there is a 60 second wait :(

Anyways, the Laser weapons in Fallout New Vegas are alright. They shoot really fast, but do little damage. If you are looking for damage, then go with a Plasma weapon. Here is one of the saying on the loading screen.

"Laser weapons shoot fast, but do little damage. Plasma weapons shoot slowly, but do a lot of damage."

I have also started an energy weapon character, but have not found a 'new weapon' yet, only the plasma and laser weapons from FO3, are there any new energy weapons? anyone who could tell me this without to much spoilers?

Because if there aren't any new energy weapons I'm making a melee weapon character right away.

thx

I made an energy weapon character and I really didn't find anything until I got to Freeside. Not being able to find energy weapons at the start of the game has always been the plight of energy weapon users anyway, but if you have patience and level up you won't regret picking energy weapons.

As for a new energy weapons there are few, most of them seem to come from the Fallout 3 DLC's, and unfortunately the only genuinely new ones I've seen (so far) is some toy gun you can get off a kid, and a laser tommy gun.

On/near the strip there is a place that sells a ton of ammo, but it is expensive.

Yeah that's that store in Freeside I think it's called the Silver Line or something to that extent.
