you have the option to upgrade your turret into a robot butler, who will serve cold drinks to your teammates, and speak like an English gentleman.

So all of a sudden this is Fallout? Because I'm pretty sure that sounds a lot like Wadsworth, in your Megaton house in Fallout...

I think that the problem with turrets won't be their damage when they said that they are more of a distraction but more that they will be rather easy to dodge. I heard a dude in a recent interview say that they deal the damage. But I just think that they will have a limited range and will have a hard time following faster targets and targets moving over to cover.

Here, sorry, we don't want killstreaks.

They won't be like MW2 turrents. They won't have a huge range, they do as much damage as an assault rifle, you can only place one at a time and are pretty easy to dodge.

Turrets can be upgraded but be tougher and more deadly.

Recent interviews state that buffing a players gun turns it gold. Watch out for the men with the Golden Guns.

I hope they can but only within a certain range and that turrets ony have a certain field of vision to counter it. Like they do not do a 360 degree pivot and shoot anything that tried to sneak up behind but can spot out operatives coming straight on so its balanced and still makes it easy to hack you just have to be a smart operative and flank behind like any good operative would do anyways dsiguised sneaking into enemy ranks.

no, turrets would then replace Ops for defending against Ops in disguise.

Not really its just another defense agaisnt them and they would hypotheticaly have a limited range in which they could detect them. I dont like the concept of operatives having a perfect disguise and having to rely on friendly operatives to tell me if there is an enemy in our midst. In pub matches with randoms I can already see all the team kills and annoying things what will occur. I would like some sort of small inidication that you could distinguishe if you were paying attention ex. slight discoloration in gloves, maybe not showing up on mini map, name tag doesnt pop up above there head some sort of way for non operatives to be able to distinguish friendlies from enemies if they pay attention.

Nice, new info.

I think that what they meant when they said a turrent would be more of a distraction is that it is pretty easy to dodge. MW2's turrents even though deadly with right postitioning were often easy to dodge or flank. Something like something for them to take cover from until you flank them and take them out.

A limit range seems fair until you realize you prolly have to get right next to it to hack it. Sneaking past the enemy team is a enough of a challenge. Besides the game even tells the engineer when someone is sapping his sentry. :spotted owl:

James Bond never had a Golden Gun, that was Scaramanga. But yeah, if I see anyone on the opposing team with a golden gun and a third nipble, I'm running the opposite direction. [/avidJamesBondfan]

Link? I've looked for recent interviews but I'm having trouble coming up with where they found the info in the compendium.

I hope its spray paint, or that island was seriously well off before the end came, I wonder if they're going to color code different types of gun buffs, if they have different types.

As stated above the golden gun is new info. H0RSE hasn't gotten a chance to update it. Its really too early to be link hunting, but whatever.

You would think people would just trust my info, I am pretty good about knowing my stuff.

PS I am going to go find the link

The disguise is far from perfect. From the moment you shoot you lose it. You also have to consider which body you're going to take, because of the different body types.
Maybe the AI squad commander will announce something like: "Enemy in disguise"

I still don't think turrets should be able to spot them. Having to deal with turrets in a small allyway would be next to imposiible if you can't get around.

no, no i can't see that balancing anything, it would severly underpower the disguise ability

I don't really think so. In ET, when I got killed by a Covert ops, I always used the quickchat to announce my team that there's someone is disguise. He also got my name, so it would be easy for me to see when someone stole it. I don't mind an AI squadcommander announcing it, you won't know who it is.

Indeed. That would ruin it. How much easier is it to be a spy in TF2 when nobody realises there are any spys? Once you start Backstabbing, people start spy checking.
