Engineer MVC?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:42 am

I love playing medic and buffing noobs. Also being in the thick of it and tossing out health packs. In games that I can do this I level up like nuts so I'm not worried. Only worried about the kind of firepower i can have, how powerful it will be because i'm not a solider or heavy weapons class. being caught out in the open is all that worries me. that and friggin spies.

Not to mention the Medic's adrenaline ability which makes a teammate invincible for a short period of time, however at the end of the time the teammate takes all the damage he took earlier in a second. But then again the medic can then rez him after.

Even though I never played TF2, this reminds me of Ubercharge, except you lose health afterwards.

I know, its effective but when you think about it, the only effective way to use this would be:

1) a rush
2) keeping a teammate (doing an objective) alive, and allow them to do their job.
3) to use an invincible teammate to cover you.

Those are my thoughts though.

EDIT: I couldn't use letters (example a) ) like I originally planned. Turns out B looks like this : B)

You can also use the teammate as an improvised minesweeper if you don't have a handy engineer...

That is true..

I didnt mention later abilities.

But my main point is that it seems like the Engineers have the most purposes.

Agree.

I wasnt trying to ask which class everyone thought was best.

I'm asking if you think that the Engineer is the most valuable to the team & in completing objectives.

Seeing from the 2nd part of the Get Smart series, engineers will be the workhorse for keeping the bot going and repaired, as it can be incapacitated/damaged by enemy fire and explosives.

Other classes will have their fair share of things like this.

It takes every class to make it go out of sight.

While I do think Engineer's have a bit of objectives that are about stopping enemies or progressing at certain parts, I think every class is needed to make it work, and it's classes like Soldiers and Medics that keep the others alive in the first place.

There is no MVC, everyone has a certain role that helps out the game's outcome.

Atleast they mixed up the adrena system from W:ET. (You had infinite sprint and took half damage for 6 seconds iirc, could be more though). Encoutering someone with adren and a bit of skill meant death for sure. I think they made the right decision to balance it out.
