EDIT: OK, SL just changes the fog distances of the current weather to improve performance, it would seem. This means that the fog colour is already the colour of the current weather's fog (it's the same thing), but it looks horrible during clear weathers especially because the only fog you have is far-off horizon fog, which is blue. This looks really bad up close though.
Um not sure where you got this from but looking at the scripts in SL this isn't correct. The only thing the fog script does is check the fognear and fogfar values for the current weather to check if the scripted fog (with con_SetFog) should be lower than what the SL script wants it to for performance. I can't find anything that would suggest it changes the weather fog values.

So it should be possible to adjust the fog color for DefaultWeather (that seems to be the one that is used for scripted fog) to match the current weather fog. Although it may still result in strange colors for some weather that wasn't designed to have fog.

So what is the status for EW and All natural? Have you done separate ways? So should I use everything from All natural except weather and load this latest version instead?

Have you decided on what route you will take on programing the changes in weather or are you waiting for a OBSE command?

Whats with all those question marks in my post?

@ Kyoma: I'll trust you're right, I must have read the Get functions as Set or something. In that case, yes, it would be possible.

@ Locksley: See below for a status update. As for what to use with All Natural and this, that's your choice. I've moved the bit that'll require new OBSE functions to another (WIP) mod. And I have no idea. :)

@ All: First things first, I've got some patches uploaded to the EW Nexus page. There's two new ones for Kvatch Rebuilt and Gates To Aesgaard 2: these fix bugs in those mods, and are not EW-specific. They will also be included in All Natural 0.9.7, for instance, and can and should be used with vanilla too. It's worth mentioning that I've contacted both mods' authors and Gates To Aesgaard will be updated at some point to take into account my patch. When that patch comes out (version > 1.1), you should no longer use the GTA2 patch.

The other patch is a reworking of the Elsweyr patch to work for all mods that desire to control the weather outside of Cyrodiil's borders, including the Elsweyr mod. It still requires OBSE v18.

And now: Status Update:

EW 1.4 is completed, with a few bugs fixed from 1.3.9, and is a full archive. It's release is pending only the final release of OBSE v18, which the updated optional feature scripts rely on. The 1.4 release will be the final release of Enhanced Weather. EW has reached the point where in my humble opinion it is pretty much perfect. I've gotten everything to the point where it seems rock-solid, and I can't really improve on it, having done the best I can with it. It does what it does, and it does it very well, and so my task is at an end.

Support at this point will be over, though more likely than not it shall not be required, and I'm sure that if you ask nicely enough I'll help you out anyway. I'll put up a new thread for 1.4, but leave it at that.

I think that's all I have to say.

Thanks wrinklyninja

Enhanced Weather has been my weather mod of choice for about a year now, so I appreciate the work you've put into it.

What exactly is going on with OBSE? Some sort of major problem that's preventing it's stable release? It seems to be holding up the updates of a lot of mods such as EW. Those of us who don't really follow it's development closely are in the dark :(

Anyways, I hope this comes soon so we can see those externalized ES and ER asap

There's some kind of problem with the way they're hooking into the game, and they've got a solution, which also fixes a vanilla bug with tokens, but it changes how certain MenuMode scripts work. It seems that before it made no sense, but now it does, however that change could still break earlier mods. So they're trying to decide what would be best to do.

Breaking existing mods doesn't seem like a very good solution at all, I hope they can decide on some sort of compromise

I'm having issues with the weather in my game atm, hoping for some advice that could fix this. I had stopped using enhanced seasons part way through my game to try and track down a crashing issue that I thought was caused by screen effects. I never enabled it again, but I think doing so really messed up seasonal weather.

Like, I know it used to snow in lower ports of the world in the winter months of the game, but it just rains now mostly. And when it does snow in the upper parts of the world, it seems to cause a thunder storm as well.

Any way to cleanly get this started back on track as it should?

Hmm, I recall that I was getting lightning during snowstorms with Storms and Sounds in AN because I'd mis-classified weathers, and this did come from EW, so though I thought I'd fixed it, it's possible that I'd forgotten to. I'll have a look. The snow got confined to the mountains, so that's why you won't be seeing it. It's a pity, but it really looks odd if you can't see any effect on the environment, so I cut it back to the highlands.

You could try clean saving without EW installed, and then reinstalling it, that should wipe any data that got messed up. Though Enhanced Seasons couldn't have caused it.

EDIT: Yep, the snow classification is wrong. I've fixed it for 1.4.

Just to be sure what should the snow classification be?
Is it the default Oblivion ?

Yes. I'd previously assigned it the obvious 'snow', but that's wrong.

It shouldn't be raininng all the time, that would suggest something is broken. But try the clean save uninstall and reinstall.

Yup, even after clean saving is still rains when it shouldn't and where it shouldn't
I was at Namira's shrine and it was cats and dogs, now that's pretty close to Bruma so it doesn't make sense.

In my game it's the end of Sun's Dawn, so it should still be snowing in lower regions right?

For manual installation does the EnhancedWeather.ini file go in the Oblivion/Data directory?

WrinklyNinja

? Artifacts.esm adds a new region around it guild in a few cells that is close the Pell Gate's. With it own Weather Chance defined (vanilla weather).

Everytime I get close to these I get the fast weather fog rolling and roll out. or a flash rain storm for about 2 seconds. and then it goes to like it was just a few cells away from this area ..normal has it was..

Does anybody else see this or have it happening, or is thier patch needed..Ior I can remove the region out of Artifacts.esm if really needed)..

Using 1.39 and OBGE Enhanced Seasons the one you released in AN thread..

no depthtest.dll or godrays used in this profile..

Hmm, I've got Artifacts in my LO, haven't been near Pell's Gate with it though. Sounds like it would need a patch though.

It shouldn't be doing that though, because EW should have override, and unless the region is applying it's own override on top (which it doesn't look like it is), then it should just stay at EW weather and ignore whatever the region is wanting, unless the override is released.

How does it play without EW installed? I can't check myself, because I've got 1.4 (unreleased yet), which does have a few changes from 1.3.9, which could make a difference.

Let me check , has I have save where I am just outside the region looks like, and I can enter into building, and then come back out. exploit vanilla weather change, the down into this region..Will report back..

slip me 1.4 for testing.. :hubbahubba: and I will slip you Artifacts.esp with Lost Spires Compatiblity..LOL..no more land tears..

Edit: Artifacts.esm region is overlapping into WestWealdSubRegion03B (which has it own weather %) further down than pell gate slighty..
