So at what point am I too far for a patch to fix a glitch? I have a save just before I enter the Dark Brotherhood for the first time. If I just ignore actually becoming a member until a patch comes out to fix this problem will I be ok? Thanks

What is the actual problem?
Im about to join the brotherhood with my character so thats why Im asking.

Well the first contracts you'll have is to kill 3 people. 2 of the 3 are no problem but when you go to kill Ennodius it doesnt complete the quest. I was at level 57 when I started and I've heard that people have had issues past level 46. But I'm also sure there are people who have had no problems at all. I would just suggest saving before starting the Brotherhood to be safe.

You won't know if a quest is broken, or will break for you until you try. A lot of the quests I've seen people reporting as breaking never broke for me. It's a real hit or miss "feature" of Bethesda's games.
