Bethesda ought to open the Skyrim Cheats, Hints, and Spoilers forum. They're going to do it anyway, they might as well do it now.

And while they're at it they should open the Skyrim Mods forum. That way those of us who are interested in mods don't have to read an incessant stream of "play the game first" and "mods are cheating" and "I play on console" comments before we finally get to an intelligent post.

I'm surprised that they haven't created a spoiler forum yet. Considering how important storytelling is to games, and with leaks on torrent sites it may be a good idea to have a sperate section just in case.

People watch it and make topics that say 'Esbern is Alduin in disguise! Discuss!'

They or we may not download or discuss how or where we got it, but leaks and spoilers are a real problem now. I saw it happen with Mass Effect 2, Dues Ex HR, Witch 2, and others. Someone illegally downloads something, discusses it with others, and those same other assumes that be then it's common knowledge.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm on the fence about this. I feel if you come to this community you have to be willing to accept the fact that you will come across some inevitable spoilers. So my answer to that is if it is that big of a concern, simply do not come to the forums. Stick with Google and Official game press sites IGN, Gamespot etc.

I do however agree that spoilers should not be permuted as the topics of a post. Alla the thread that sparked this one. I think the moderators need to actually DELETE threads of this nature not simply lock or move them. Not sure what the official policy is.

Alduin is actually Martin after his transformation into a Avatar of Akatosh and is just trying to restore the empire. In the end you can either work with him or battle him, depending on which side you declare your allegiance too.

Two sided coin. It's getting late enough where any thread could be littered with spoilers, so it's a good idea to not even bother anymore. On the other hand, is it really that hard to put a spoiler tag in the title? Seriously? Have some common courtesy.

It's hard to avoid spoilers when they're in the title though

Maybe it's time for the mods to make a sticky announcement about forum etiquette. Or something.

In that case, I would advise to stay off the forums? Not being sarcastic, just saying, it is close to release and this kinda stuff is going to happen till day end of release and even be worse after release. If people are still looking into Skyrim at this point, they are going to have to use there spider senses. They can't count on people to abide forum rules and common courtesy.

Also information on the internet is also becoming "predominant" then it was when TESIV came out. If that is the right word to use.
