Hi, Coors, how you doin'?

With your cool mod I play only Shadow Birthsign Imperial Chick Breton. Wonder would it be possible to change birthsign in midgame... not that I am planning something like that, just an idle thought...

And eehh... not that I am urging anybody, I know it takes time but... any 1.5 ETA?
Gosh, I love this mod!!! them guys in Rielle beat the sh*t out of me and I love every moment of it... right until I kick the bell and have to reload a save before my untimely demise...
This time waited to reach lvl 50 before go and visit them. With Elys uncapper and unlimited rings and amulets and almost all skills and attributes 150+ I am the one who is going to kick *rs this time!

Well 1.5 will be very soon as I address the primary issues of balance 1st.

And then...

Straight into Ver2 as it will conatin a whole lot more - new weapons and armor (heaps better imho - pending certain permissions), and I'm going to have a crack at some new types of spells that use psionics as a base, not the normal style to spice things up a bit ;) Plus there will be full martial arts animations for the characters too, so be prepare for some more ninjas who speciliase in hadn to hand- that should make it real interesting.

Overall, it will be more balanced from the start, more diverse, harder (can it get harder... :toughninja:) and a few more surprises I have up my sleave ;)

I have just started to play it and its awesome! hah, it was funny because i tried to get to snow dragon temple house from some other mod, at level 4, and all of a sudden several arrows come flying at me from my left! I was all freaked out because I couldnt see the ninjas in the snow very well, and it took more than 50 shots to kill them, and i had to sneak and dodge all the way to the house, and when i got there i hid in one of the secret rooms. It was the most fun i have had in a LONG time with oblivion.

Did you start your new character in jail with ETShinobi activated? So cool, I can't believe it is not part of the vanilla. It should be IMO.

Well with all the feedback I have recieved, I plan to play on the start further, as I think that was quite a daring move and I have not seen other mods attempt this in the same way, so I will develop this further, and in so doing, the issue with all the weapons at the start will be dealt with, so it will up to the PC to actually find where they are in the starting dungeon, and it will be a place no other PC has ever gone before... I'll say no more.

Having played this mod over and over, I now see the need for balance as I was targeting ideally more imagination until the PC reaches a higher level. There have ben some new models of appropriate weapons so I am going to seek permission from the appropriate people where permission has not been given already.

Expect some new and varied locations in the style of the shrine as well dotted around Cyrodiil (I am thinking of utilising the unused world space beyond the borders..., this should also minimise any conflicts as well?)

I'll try my hand at making a faction as wel, with the Shinjii and Samuarai as opposing factions, who actually hunt you as well!

One request: I love your camouflage recurved bow but with FCOM it is a bit underpowered. can you make it a bit more powerful, so that can be used against FCOM daedra Lords or MMM Balrogs?

I'll definately look into it for ver 2.

Did you get the bows from Rielle? They are fully enchanted, and you'll find that regardless of the mod, they'll do the necessary, but not all the time as the script is based on certain factors with a percentage chance of performing the action, similar in style to Mehrunes razor (script was used with permission from Adonnay)

But yeah, I want to take my time, and do a really good quality relz. The 1st update will just be a minor one, to address the balance issues. The ver 2 (almost a complete re-work and massive addtitons require me to learn more quest stuff, how to build an interior - dedicated dojo, cave network all in the style of the Shrine of Shinobi, with multiple locations spread across Tamriel, and hopefully some additions not unlike Better Cities and UL, where I'll try to introduce that into an unused space (going to see if I can do height map editing as well - I have the hardware, just need to learn the skills) - ;)

OMG, this mod is awesome! And the new 2.0 ver sounds great... you think you could make the new animations true to ninjutsu? Ive been practicing it for a while now, and I would be really cool to be able to make those moves in oblivion, make it much more realistic lol.

Yeah noted your comment, I've found that as well. Weird as it does not affect them as it is meant to drain your own fatigue.
I'll look into it, RL has a few issues, but this is something I'll fix initially with the 1st update, but it has been pushed back a little while, but not forgotten.

Hey all,

Apologies as my update has been a long time pending due to a rather recent change of jobs, but now I am back for a holiday in my home country with quite a bit of time on my hands.

NEWS:

Well, thanks to the permission of several modders, ETS is going to get a real big change, and be upgraded with a new ninjato, dual kama, different Najinata, Armour (male/female variants), another recurve bow (yay!!), and some cool new features.

For now, I won't spoil the surprise, and I won't let on who's work I am including. Also I aim to introduce several more quests to obtain the items seperately, and without changing too much of the original aspects that everyone enjoyed, I've got a few more surprises up my sleave

Please feel frree to post bugs (which should be 99% free), and I am aware of the balance issues, so I will adress the damage stats to that of daedric to keep it balanced, and try to incorporate some rewards with some new psionic abilities (instead of magic - seems more ninja like in an Oblivion universe; it's a game after all :toughninja:) as I willl be checking the boards and pposting updates/progress as I move to ver 2.

Imagine seeing a ninja scaling the main spire of the imperial city..lol..

Is there any way around having to start a new game? I actually take a long time to level my characters up to, say, 30. I can roleplay that I got the note at the beginning, but starting all the way over really puts me off starting this mod.

Hi Corepc!

Well all going well, my next adventure into the CS is going to see me try my hand at interiors (lol), and I'll develop some more areas outdoors, but with all the UL stuff which I am a big fan of, I am quite cautious where I can pop the stuff, so I am thinking outside of the border regions, and I also want to dabble into the dreamscape, and how I am going to do that, well... I'll have to figure that out. Essentially, I want the PC to have to work for eery bit of equipment they get, so I will be expanding the quests for each major piece or group of items similar to what I did at Rielle, and hence the jump straight to ver2 which of hopefully will add the the overall replayability - enemies will ot be scaled as such, but essentially resources pending of course from other modders, I'm on the right track with some cool stuff, the weapons & armor being my major concern, and then keeping them balanced too as opposed to v1.4.

Know of any good modders who have done japanese style homes? It would be grreat if I can find someone who is willing to donate to the cause as such as this will be the only thing that will be missing; but not a big issue as Ronin has a great mod already with Snow Dragon Temple, and that can be d'led seperetely anyway.

I'm also quite excited as I am going to be putting in martial arts anim replacers as well, and adjusting the hand to hand damage with it as a major skill in the Ninja class to actually make it worth while pwning with hand to hand. If I can figure out how to get psionics into the mod instead of conventional spells, that would be the icing on the cake.

Yeah I totally agree, that would be awesome, and this is something I think that is abo[censored]ely integral that Bethesda has missed out actually; I mean look at Tomb Raider - if they can do it, surely Bethesda can as well right?? Climbing walls and cliffs etc.. that would be cool.

Yeah there will be new items, but actually I have quite a few tools already, but unfortunately, I have not found anything like the hand and foot spikes used to assist in climbing.

But using Thieves arsenal alongside this is a work around.

Yeah you can atually... it just means you miss my little surprise I have at the start that is all. You just need to visit the Grandmaster Ninja at Slash & Smash in the IC. For the upcoming ver2 which is underway at the moment, I will be addressing this, but it will be well worth it to start from the start even just to see it, and then just carry on with your normal character.

In ver2, lets just say, the tutorial will take a bit of a twist... ;)

I hope you like what I have planned, it is going to make it more authentic, more Ninja, and add generally more of everything, but only quality products will be included as opposed putting it in just for the sake of it.

Well unfortunately could not get near the Temple door, as it would crash every single time, when I tried to fast travel it crashed. I have the latest version of OBSE, and of course the Official and Unofficial Oblivion patch. I disable every single Mod expect for UOP and it still crashed. My only guess is it is caused by me not having SI installed. Have had others Mod claiming to require it and they worked fine, others not much. Which I can not anything bad you or your Mod because I am 100% certain the issue is from my side. Which I fully understand and accept.

I wish I could have finished it, sounded great as I had Ninja Character before this. However from what I saw I liked the variety of armor very clever to have implemented them and their color, added depth and made sense for an Assassin. The design over all was alright but worked. Perhaps you could talk to Alexscorpion about using his design, very authentic armor set. From what I had to deal with outside of the Temple I will say it was challenging, but manageable with some well timed moves. Character was only 23, with no enchanted weapons. The bows seemed a bit modern to me, but I think the background easily covers that up and works. The overall weapon variety was nice, and more than enough for an Ninja I would think. The spells were really cool as well had fun toying with them. I even made a level 1 guy to see the start, was a very cool twist.

Once I do get SI or GOTY I will reinstall it and try to run it again, till then hope to see some awesome updates. Keep up the great work on it, looks great so far and from what I can see from the screenshots. Far as a Samurai faction I would be all over that, crashs or not. =P

Hey guys, well to answer some of the last questions from the previosu posts, it may hav crashed due to your system stability due to the number of scripts etc and all the action from the shinjii ninja.

Wall running, was just a pose mod - from Sepiroith.

And yes to one of the previosu questions, I have been indeed working with someone on the armor and weapons, but I'll leave it as a surprise...

Samurai faction, yes definately, I will definately do that, as well as some assisanation stuff/quests similar to a DB style quest.

There will be new areas, and also I'll most likely be renaming the mod also as I will be dumping some of the armor and previous weapons due to upgrade from new meshes which look fantastic.

I've finished the intergration of the new weapons and armor, just got to tidy it up, and then next will be the new locations both on Tamriel, and some others hopefully with a little twist; well, lets just say, more than just a few twists.

As far as patches with other mods, most likely not as mine has been relzed for almost two years now,hoiwever other modders are welcome to make compatibility patches for mine. However, to provuide some assistance, I will be tweaking the stats to be much more in line with vanilla, but due to the quality of the ninja weaponsbeing far superior (as will be the samurai equipment than that commonly found in tamriel), it willl be in line with daedric as these weapons are the onyl friends a Ninja needs - this will balance out at higher levels, believe me!

Also, you won't simply find bags in the starting cell left by the grandmaster, in fact, you'll have to find them; if you can...

I hate to refer to past postings (#92/#96/#97 of this thread), but have the issues I highlighted been corrected?
I'd certainly love to use this mod for my next character, but having to ditch four previous avatars using version 1.4 I want to be certain the bug will not rear it's head at me again.
Great concept for a mod by the way, so I'm certainly not trying to knock it.

The thing about that bug arent the blades themselves, but rather the script thats attached to them, which gives a bonus to your blade skill when you equip the blade and takes it away when you deequip it. The thing is it does so by directly modifying the player skills, and after a lot of equipping-unequipping it starts to lower the skill. An easy solution would be to modify the script to give you an enhancement rather than modifying the skill itself. In the meantime, you can just modify the script in the CS, its really easy, or detach the script from the blades.
