Hello:

I am a new user of this wonderful mod. Just finished it last night. Now may I submit a few humble feedbacks and questions:

(1) In the Ayleid ruin, just left of its main entrance I can see 2 display cases and 1 door. I solved their riddles and already completed the quest. I still didn't find the key to open them, though. Are they just for look?

(2) The trap & riddle designs are really great!

(3) The new items are hugely overpowered. Weapons swings & fires like automatic machine gun and the armors offer a huge list of insane bonuses and armor rating. I cannot keep the mod loaded or my game balance will be gone. I don't think a piece of clothes can offer this much protection... But I did create a lot of insane potions with the insane alchemy set.)

(4) The naming of the keys are very confusing. A "case key" does not open a case, and a Ninja key... all of the chests are Ninja chests! It was totally trial and error for me, which wasn't very fun after the 3rd (and there are like... 6 in total?). It will be better if the chests and keys are named more distinctively.

(5) By the way, Ninja is the Kanji (Chinese character) pronunciation for Shinobi. So they mean largely the same thing. :P Now a lot of the items are called Ninja Shinobi xx. It is like having a "Warrior Fighter" armor. Maybe simply Ninja xx or Shinobi xx is fine.

Just my personal opinion. I still like the mod a lot!

Hi Maltz and BLind Demon,

Thanks both for your valuable feedback, it is appreciated and noted.

Yeah I agree on all points raised. Alot of the things I did because it was my first mod, and balance wasn't a priority at the time due to the high level required.

I am planning a new revised and larger more epic orientated Enter the Shinobi, and yes thank you fo rthe clarification re: Shinobi. Point noted for the next release.

I have alot plannd for the next relz, and it is going to be made more balanced to be in line with the original mod. The keys for the chest are numbered, and the chests are placed in a deliberate non sequential order. You missed the high end bows and sword variants that are locked away which you need to locate the last two keys for. Look around the shrine a bit more.

The balance is something that I will address as alot of people have commented on the same.

Thank you for your compliments, and I will take all constructive criticism on board for my 1st mod ever. Glad you like it regardless. (Grammatical errore is another thing I plan to fix as well)

WHAAAAT!?! Your 1st mod ever? Man, it's EXCELLENT!!! I'm not normally a player of Ninja (when I play Japanese/Akaviri, it's nearly always Samurai oriented), but your mod pulled me in to this enjoyable experience. It's a fantastic first mod.

The only thing I'd add to the feedback is that I didn't much care for the trousers, the pants on your ninja uniform... Looked a little Goth to me, though if I stood still it looked like it'd pass for hakama, maybe. Still, it didn't detract from the enjoyment. But I think it'd be nice to replace those pants with those from the Pizz Ninja outfit http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14958, or make them an additional option. Please understand, much of the Pizz Ninja outfit is manga/anime, and I detest that genre. But the pants/hakama and tabi/boots are quite serviceable, and should serve you nicely.

Just my two cents worth. Whatever you do, your next release is an instant download for me. My new character would live at Kielani's Akaviri Kojima, go through your mod, and I'm sure I'll enjoy every minute!

Cheers for the prasie, although I did not do the original textures(adjusted some to alternate meshes) or meshes, and some scripts I had borrowed with permission. All credits are in the read me.

I hope to be able to start on Enter the Shinobi 1.5 soon :)

Hey all, been afk from the game scene for a while, and now I'm back.

Time for a bit of an update I think.

What is your feedback on my first mod? I will be addressing a few things in my scope, such as balance, more equipment, and more diverse landscape as well just like before, and yes of course, deadly traps and riddles, and hopefully another new quest as epic as the dark brotherhood, but with ninjas and samuarai...

Post your feedback (remember it is my first mod ever... so I have alot to learn) below, and if possible links to examples where I may seek permission to include.

Any questions please see readme first (long and detailed I know... Hint: I find ctrl+f a great shortcut when looking for specific keywords ;))

Cheers,

Coors916 :ninja:

After filtering through this thread I think it's time for me to temporarily retire my Paladin.
After a lot of reading, what would you deem the best overhaul mod to use this with, FCOM or T.I.E.?

I would say "FCOM", and also "deadly reflexes", plus "Sephs hand to hand animation replacer", and also "random encounters" is a goodie too :)

I would say FCOM + TIE4MODS - they do not conflict that way.
+ DR + Sephs yes but...
you forget the very very cool DMC Stylish (Nexus) which makes my char wear her 2h sword in a new way, really good!

Now, feedback:
Enter Teh Shinobi is one of the best mods in all Modblivion. Definitely 10+++.

One request: May I ask for Ninja Shinobi Hood as well? And Camuflage hood too?
Any chance for sequel?

Already in the mod my friend: camouflage and hood in dark as well. Complete sets in Camo and dark are there (I might have taken them out of the game, but they are there in the mod's folder.)

I created a new character specifically to run this mod but encountered a weird bug.
Having increased my Blade skill to 47 I suddenly found my self waving and missing my opponents. On checking I find my skill at -33 .
After a lot experimentation with my mod listing by disabling various mods and reverting to an earlier save I found by switching this one off the error does not reoccur.
Anyone else found a problem with this?

Negative. Always fine with ETS, never problems apart from the tough ninja guys.
You must've hit a bug or loaded bad save.

Thanks for the clothes, Coors916. And the whole mod.
Are you planning something new?

I've no idea what my problem was but I've resolved it by loading this mod dead last and reverting to a save made before the corruption occurred.
Perhaps Adonnay's Elven Weapons mod as it too fortifies the Blade skill? but I've never experienced a problem with it before, so I'm stumped.
One further question - I purchased an enchanted ninjato from the Grandmaster but even running FCOM at 75% difficulty I'm taking down all comers in no more than two hits with only 63 strength and a Blade skill of 48. Anyway I can tone down the weapon damage?

Thanks.

Yes to answer your question, I will be doing a a rather larege update soon now I have my new comp.

Wha I plan to do is do a v1.5, to address some issues people have with the mod, like rebalancing weapons and pricing across the board. So not a bug fix so to say, but an improvement based on players feedback.

Another update will follow on from that, and what I would like to do, is make a quest the size of the DB quest, where the player has to take down the SHinjii Nnja via several quests, however, this wil not be as simple as the DB quest, in ETS style, there will be puzzles, traps, obstacles etc... in the way of the player, ann planty of ninjas and evil samuarai (I am also thinking undead samurai) to face off against.

I will try my han at creating indoor locations (like big cave structures and stuff like that.

I'll be including new versions of weapons to upgrade the current ones (pending permission) and some minor tweaking and some surprise enhancements.

One thing I learned for replay-ability purposes, is to make it more balanced. I'll also remove the starting equipment, and make a few more surprises to some things alon the way... and the player will continue to be huntede if they do the quest or not.

So this will be a huge update, and will take it to version 2 straight up.

I've now experienced a similar bug with three different characters.
Disabling the mod reverts my skill back to what it should be.
Trying a clean save has no effect as the bug soon reappears the next time I level my blade skill.
Even loading dead last in my load order does not solve the conflict, so at the present time I find this mod unplayable.
Any ideas Coors916 as I really do like the idea of this mod?

Ok you say there is a conflict right? What is conflicting, as my mod would not do this. It is another mod which is conflicting which is causing this. I suggets trying to find the conflicting mod.

I'm doing an upgrade soon as I said, but there is nothing in my mod which causes this - there are no effects (bad or good) that owuld hurt your stats. Only enhance via items, that is all.

Are you using any skill or levelling mods, or mods like MMM which do wounding or similar - not saying MMM is the culprit, but you get what I'm suggesting right.

Lets find the mod in question and see what we can figure out.

Dowloading, but the link in the first post for the File at TesNexus is wrong, it links to TesSource.net instead of TesNexus, so you may want to update it. Otherwise, great mod! :D

Thanks for the quick reply.
I've experimented with just about every mod combination you can think of trying to find the culprit, but as I stated previously the effect only happens when Enter The Shinobi is activated.
It would appear from this thread http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=849848&hl=Shinobi that I'm not the only one that has encountered something similar.
I do run both skill and level rebalance mods with nGCD and Progress, and also use MMM through FCOM, but not the wounding plug-in. I also do not use any of the combat mods like Deadly Reflexes.
I think I've just about run out of ideas.

Hi, Shiki.
Sorry for not answering sooner (have to earn the rent).
I found that if you don't equip any blade from Enter the Shinobi you and your stats are safe.

Sorry, benrahir but I tend to disagree. The idea to introduce ninjas as enemies is IMO great and introducing them in jail from the very beginning is immersive and I like it. I like the things ETS adds, the way it does it.

thing is... I've played ETShinobi for as long as I play mods... more than a year...
This is the first time I come across this problem.

So, what I'll try is sell all stuff from the dungeon
I think it is only blade weapons that cause the problem(bow does not do it)
I like the Shinobi Bisthsign and all the things the mod does so I think I'll peresevere and play it to the end.
Pitty that all the saves I have made while using the Ninjato are contaminated...

As I have played the mod for more than a year and this is the first time such thing happens I think it is order related.
Will ask the autor is there any permanent fix.

Hi there, please post in the official thread so I don't miss your posts - I can fix this no problem. Strange, as you said that you had been playing with this for over 1 year, and suddenly it has only started happening - ok this narrows down the problem quite significantly. What was the latest mod you installed?

The stat boosts will be removed once I do the inital patch to adress the cost issues and weapon stats etc... that many have raised.

Please guys also read the read me, it must be loaded last in the order.

Lets move this to the official thread as I totally missed your initial post if it was not for another modder - sorry both, I've ben afk&OB for a while due to an upgrade, and change of job/countries recently.

All things will be addressed very fast, prior ot the next big update!!

Hi, Coors, how you doin'?

With your cool mod I play only Shadow Birthsign Imperial Chick Breton. Wonder would it be possible to change birthsign in midgame... not that I am planning something like that, just an idle thought...

And eehh... not that I am urging anybody, I know it takes time but... any 1.5 ETA?
Gosh, I love this mod!!! them guys in Rielle beat the sh*t out of me and I love every moment of it... right until I kick the bell and have to reload a save before my untimely demise...
This time waited to reach lvl 50 before go and visit them. With Elys uncapper and unlimited rings and amulets and almost all skills and attributes 150+ I am the one who is going to kick *rs this time!
Sacred Ninjato, here I come!
And thanks!

WOW! great mod! I have just started to play it and its awesome! hah, it was funny because i tried to get to snow dragon temple house from some other mod, at level 4, and all of a sudden several arrows come flying at me from my left! I was all freaked out because I couldnt see the ninjas in the snow very well, and it took more than 50 shots to kill them, and i had to sneak and dodge all the way to the house, and when i got there i hid in one of the secret rooms. It was the most fun i have had in a LONG time with oblivion.
