Entering Neighboring Lands

Post » Fri Oct 07, 2011 9:01 am

Do you think in Skyrim you will be able to enter a little bit into neighboring lands??? Maybe Morrowind? MW and OB had artificial barriers, but some modders made it possible to keep walking perhaps infinitely in any direction. . . . though there was no life other than trees and grass.

Perhaps as DLC they will allow us to go in and inspect a highly damaged Morrowind. Perhaps with so little life there, they can add quests as well.

I would love to see, in the future, a Bethesda game that fuses all of the nations so that you can freely go to your old haunts . . . . but with updated graphics and game machanics.

thoughts?

We should see Blacklight in Morrowind, Jehanna and Evermor in High Rock, as well as Dragonstar and Elinhir in Hammerfell.

I read somewhere that Todd wants to recreate Sentinel, Hammerfell.

It's called "Skyrim" for a reason, it isn't "Skyrim, High rock, Morrowind, Cyrodiil and Hammerfell"

The scale was so far reduced in the last game that the entire vast province of Cyrodiil was only marginally larger than the rather modest-sized island of Vvardenfell in the middle of Morrowind province. The Imperial City island should have been expanded to the size of the map, and "quarantined" for the Oblivion crisis. That might have given you some sense of the sheer vastness of the rest of the province....but no, they made a "mini-Cyrodiil" instead.

The last thing I want to see is a shrunken "sampler" of all of Tamriel.

Nah, just super expensive, hiring a massive team to work on it. Heh, very hard to coordinate as well. How amazing would that be though! Will never in this lifetime happen, but each province about the size of Cyrodil in Oblivion, or larger, and very diverse. Would be amazing!!

I don't know. for DLC in MW they added Mournhold. A huge part of the MQ took part UNDERNEATH Mournhold. TES I think can go on forever.

As for the time and cost it takes to do this, computers are only getting faster. Porting these land masses cannot be too difficult. It would cost a shiny penny, sure, but what would you pay for it???

I'd pay 3 times what Skyrim will cost (which I pre-ordered today)! Gladly. Who wouldn't???

MW would seem the easiest since it is practically destroyed.

i have an old map of tamriel that shows from the most eastern point of cyrodiil to the most western would be approx 750 miles.

i have it saved now and not the link anymore, but imagine a game of the WHOLE of tamriel, at that scale... that would be IMMENSE

the game to end all other games.... maybe we'll see it in the generation AFTER the next generation

Not in Vanilla, no. Perhaps in DLC, but I very much doubt they would do DLC in Morrowind. They did Morrowind already. They wouldn't do it again.

For God's Sake, I don't want to go back to Morrowind! I wanna see new places not a revamped version of an annoying place I've already been to.

They said that the DLC will not be like Oblivion or F3's DLC but more like "expansions". Maybe this means.... High Rock? Solthsiem/Northern Morrowind? A man can hope.

In terms of size and quantity, oOne could hope it would be like New Vegas was to Fallout (only as an extension rather than having to create a new character)

not quite only Vvardenfell, Mournhold, and Solsthiem in Morrowind not the Southern, Northwestern, and Northeastern parts of Morrowind.
same goes for High Rock and Hammerfell although id reserve those areas for futures games
just saying i wouldnt rule Northwestern Morrowind out for a second.

I'd love to see DLC letting us cross the border somewhere. Not by much, but just enter a new part or so and discover abit of a new land. Not into Cyrodiil preferably in my opinion however.
