Entire screen turns gray

A bug is being caused by one of my mods, and I can't for the life of me remember why- I know I've had this problem before and I know I've solved it, and it's probably something obvious but I can't remember which mod is the culprit and how to repair it. Apologies.

I recently disabled a lot of my mods and then added the bulk of them back on, but I must've missed something. Now when I load my savegame and the mods begin to load and take effect, after appearing normal at first, the screen suddenly turns gray and I can't see anything. I can still access my menus.

Nevermind, I THINK I managed to find the problem.

It was a stroke of luck- I thought that it might have to do with something going wrong with a mod that altered the worldspace in itself- which, I thought, must be "Depth of Field" by Qarl and Timeslip. I think deactivating it worked. I'll keep messing with it though.

EDIT: For further experimentation I tried activating "MrMuhs & RPG-BlackDragons Dynamic Depth of Field 1.2" as well, and it also didn't work.

WHat I'm wanting to know is what is causing these depth of field mods to misbehave? Is it something obvious I'm missing?

Yes, OBGE was installed and running, so i'm not sure what the issue was.
