Environment Playing a Bigger Role Than Expected?

Post » Wed Aug 29, 2012 2:41 pm

Today Crytek made a post on Facebook referring to utilizing the environment. On it, they stated that you could THROW a car into a group of people, or pick up a light post and beat up an alien. Previously we could pick up objects and throw them, but now (if this is true) we can melee with them. If this is true, how would it translate to multiplayer? Discuss.

You could also melee with pick-uppable items in Crysis 2, even a few ones in Crysis/Warhead (broom, toilet brush with Maximum Strength was SUPER HILARIOUS). The street post ripping is new, though.

The "THROW" cars into a group of people is probably just another way to say Power Kick.

they had mentioned this before about the hunter mode also using car doors as shields.
in the game play you can very briefly see a hunter pick up a pole or something and drop it instantly.
the throwing a car i would like to see but it's probably just kicking them again.

not sure how it would translate in TIA/CS/IA as long as the melee has a decent recovery time it might be ok.
i wonder how many hits for a kill???
i hope we don't see people running around swinging metal bars instead of shooting like with the op melee in c2.
