hp envy 17 performance problem

Dear Support,

My problem is:
I purchased the crysis 2 game and i have great fps laggs
min fps ~ 5 max = 60 avg ~ 15;
I try in high, very high , extrem details but i become same results ..(in resolution 1600*900 )
(in benchmark in all resolution avg fps ~ 20 ) :(
I user laptop HP envy 17" (i7-720Q @ 1,6GHZ 4GB DDR3 ,ATI mobility 5850 1GB GDDR5 )
Crysis 2 demo in all details(Gamer,Advanced,hardcoe) ran without problem..
(avg ~ fps 40-50)
Auto update installed patch 1.2 havent resolved it..
whit patch 1.4 i become some new problem
fps like same but the screen is black only HUD displed on sceen no other item press ESC the menĂ¼ is fine..
but in game..
Please help me!
(HW: HP envy 17, OS: windows 7 home premium 64 ,lastes catalyst driver)

Sounds like the CPU to me, it's low frequency i mean, and the mobility card(should it be different in any way than the PC version)

And usually, most laptops are not for gaming.

To the original post, try updating your graphics card driver.

cpu turbo freq is 2.8 GHz
gpu mobility 5850 is build on juniper gpu (5770)

crysis 2 demo has ran perfect

i have install lastest catalist driver
the screen is ok but avg fps is 15 :(
(high,very high,extreme settings)
only this settings are in menu?

Honestly your problem is very strange. Your laptop specs are fine so no worry there, performance on the demo was also fine... I would try a re-install if I were in your position.

You should check your CPU frequency while in game, maybe it don't run at full speed. Also, try to enable the "high performance" mode in the power options, it will force your CPU to run at 2.8 Ghz.

Win reinstall + catalist (nov/2010)
works much better (30-40 fps on high details /1600*900)
