Eola, the perfect follower?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:05 pm

She is pretty awesome.

Wears light armor and keeps up fairly well, uses 1 handed, conjuration, and destruction to great effect.

As soon as the fight starts you can bet she is summoning an atronach, raising a dead body, shooting fireballs, or smacking the hell out of some enemies with the mace I gave her.

AND

Her dialogue is not the least bit condescending or whiny.

She isn't all magey and fragile, but isn't a grunt that gets in the way all the time. A good mix, IMHO.

I'm playing a breton solely devoted to gaining daedric artifacts at the moment, so I do what I must. =D

Annekka is the best in my opinion, but we still need a dialogue option to command followers to be passive while following.

In oblivion the dark brotherhood people had options.

"Follow but stay out of sight"

"Follow with haste"

etc.

Ebola is also a good companion.

Haven't run into Eola yet, though.

It seems like there are more companions than what the wiki says. I like finding new ones. I was using this guy named Benor for a while, but he never really did much.

I sat and watchin him try to kill a big mudcrab for 5 minutes with a bow. He couldn't hit it. That's when I fired him.

Eola + Wabbajack is quite the combo, she actually seems quite smart at switching between weapons, staves and spells - she doesn't go "bow crazy" like some of the other companions.

One question though: Since I'm going to be having her around for a while, what enchants should I put on her armor? Do companions run out of mana, and need + regen or - cost?

I was considering taking her until she got over-excited with chain lightning and hit me with it 4 times in a row.

The http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Erandur guy is probably the best I've come across. Unique voice, says awesome things, is the most powerful mage that follows you, and can pretty much equip and be great with any armour or weapons you give him.

Argis the bulwark can slay dragons and beat down draugr death overlord l. On master he is stronger than me... That awkward moment where your 200 damage dagger doesn't effect his health. The sad thing is he can 5 hit me and I have 550 hp and I have reached armour cap.

I like Erandur as well and use him exclusively with my warrior. He has unique dialogue and his AI is pretty good (some companions seem more buggy then others). Also as a warrior I don't want to have my companion summoning minions and what not as they will just get in the way. Erandur relies mostly on range spells and packs a mean punch with his default mace up close and can also take a beating.

I love Jordis the Sword Maiden, from Solitude. She's got a combo of Ebony and Orcish armor on at the moment, and with her armor value she has more composite health than an Elder Dragon >.< Plus, she packs a mean punch with a sword and bow. I have to say the most hilarious thing I ever did with her was give her two staffs of Fireballs, though; she became pretty much an Anti-Aircraft flak cannon, there were fireballs EVERYWHERE :flamed:

She costs about 25k gold to get though, so it's kinda obvious she'd be pretty decent. Plus I don't find her whiny, and she can be married! I've got her wearing one of the horned draugr helms, looks sweet and can still see her face ^_^

I just did a getav on Jordis, and she has 99 heavy armor skill level and 550 health >.>

No wonder she's so bloody tanky...

Every companion svcks late game i have tryed 4-5 at lvl 36:
Erandur- cant kill even 3 guards without using 15 hp potions and fighting them for 10 min
Mauricio-low dmg after lvl 30 , in early lvl he has the most dmg from all companions
Cicero-fun companion to have, but only uses a dagger wich can 1 hit low lvl enemy but doesn't actually do much dmg to lets say draurg overloards or deathlords but he can't take the most punishment ive seen ( he is wearing his default jester outfit)

I have tried also the fighting ones, again not that much dmg so they are all useless since i can take any enemy now with 2 power attacks with duel wield.

So if you ask me take a companion that you like his comments for me that is Cicero cuz he is mad and funny, but if you are below lvl 25 take Mauricio huge dmg.

Ran with Mjoll for a while, but with enchanted gear she was so [censored]in op, not to mention she gets annoying as hell, that I had to marry her and put her away in my house in Whiterun. ^^

Now I am running with Aela and I like it. She only says stuff when I don't mind it, she is pretty decent damage and health wise and not to mention can sneak pretty well. Although I gotta say, I also liked running with Erandur during the Vaermina Quest (one of the reasons why I didn't kill him for the Skull of Corruption).
