EPIC cutscene lag

Post » Sun Oct 24, 2010 6:50 am

Okay people so basically my problem is as follows: The singleplayer and multiplayer run really smooth at extreme settings and I never had any problem with framerates or anything since the demo.
However, certain cutscenes in the game (specifically the ones which explain what to do next and feature the transmission from whoever's helping you, be it Gould or whatever- in a nutshell, the black and blue "between-mission" cutscenes) lag like HELL and I can barely tell what's being said and the music lags like hell too, as well as the cutscene itself.
It's really, REALLY choppy and it just kills whatever dramatism the cutscene may offer. As I said before, it can't be my computer specs as the game itself runs perfectly.

Still, here are my specs:

AMD Athlon X2 II 245 @ 2.9Ghz
GeForce GTS450 1GB DDR5
4GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate

PLEASE help me out here as I really want to continue the campaign! Thanks.

Be that as it may, they can't just lag THAT much, its unacceptable! Do you know of any solutions or people experiencing the same problem?

If I'm correct those are scenes that play while you are loading the next mission, so it may be a problem with your HDD or ODD.

Why would my hard drive have any problem? No other games ever presented this sort of issue..
Do you have any suggestions?

Mmmkay I'll download the latest drivers, though I doubt that's the problem. If this isn't it then what could it be? Cause the ODD is definitely not it as I'm not using the DVD to play the game and I'd rule out the HDD cause it's never given me any problems.

I would have to say that this problem is actually a bug itself, and not hardware related. I myself have this issue, but I only experience it once I finish the mission in the Financial District *SPOILER ALERT* (when Lockhart finally catches you in the deep-scan cradle). Every between-mission tech-like cutscene plays perfectly before that.

Yeah, I updated my drivers but to no avail. The tech cutscenes still lag. It's starting to piss me off cause I feel like I'm playing a poorly ripped version of the game D:. So is this a bug or what? Is there any way to get a response from Crytek?

Edit- Great! What's even more maddening is the fact that the videos play perfectly well in the extras menu! The play smooth and clean! Jeez I'm kinda disappointed.

I started getting this cutscene lag too but it only started happening to me when I started my second play-through, before that it never did it. It must be a bug. I hope it's fixed soon along with all the other bugs, it does just ruin the dramatic feel.
