Epic journey and dreams that fade away....

Post » Mon Mar 17, 2014 9:29 am

HI !

My name is Peter

I would like to say some stuff about this game,i played on 2 weekends and cant talk about whole game, still i can share my part and discuss about some general things...

I'll start with ''good'' part or shall i call it epic!?

Graphic and physics of this game are -state of art- , really stunning. Very detailed, realistic...truly impressive ! there are few MMO's with this level of graphic, big congrats to devs, all those detail's in such big world are appreciated!

Story..well.. story is really epic, i would rank it with LOTR story, really amazing, also quests dialog is very nicely done as well, no more old '' do this get this for reward'', every quest have ''small'' story , really like that!

Also game have nice features in PvP, with this 3 factors this game really have great potential to become MMORPG No1!ยจ

I took a big warface and cleared my way trough hordes of enemies, it was really epic fun to play with Nord, also this alliance reminds me on movie title The Good The bad and The ugly, it really suits every race in this Pact

In this quite short run trough beta i was really amazed by game, it was really epic ( but short ) journey, sry I have no time to write all details :(

Now a ''bad'' part..... Quite good number of quests are bugged, and i have no idea how they gonna fix it for just 2 weeks before game release ( usually plp get stuck in quest and cant finish it, sometimes re-log helps but noone want to relog every time when he get on damn bug ) , also have no idea why this game didnt have ''normal'' beta like every other game, where players play game for few months to fish all bugs and polish game, not like this: 3 days every other weekend, most guys didnt even reach half game content, this kind of beta testing is big fail for me...

and now a little bit of ''economy model'' , surly P2P is gonna put millions of potential players ( costumers ) away, same thing happened with secret world. I will tell you that this is only thing that make my dreams about this game to fade away....I work, and when u add GF and some other stuff that i have to do during a day, its good when i have 2h to sit and play something, paying a whole month with such limited free time is pure waste of money and not a option, i really hate buying ''play time'', I have to rush things 'cause i have time limit and then i cant enjoy in game, i really like freedom to enjoy game when i want and how much i want, like this you have to pay every time when you want play game...its just not working for me

ya, some will say F2P are P2W, but that only depends on company, there are manny F2P games that dont have any P2W elements and are very enjoyable to play ( in such games i like to ''leave'' money ), all in all this game would have really epic potential as F2P, why devs took other model... dont know really... when you cant compare P2P MMO earnings with F2P, difference is just huge , anyway time will show what will happen on end, right now beta end means my end in this game and all my money that i would eventually spend... i am really sad about that, but i am not gonna waste my hard earned money on this fail ''economy model''

Anyway I wish all luck to Devs, game foundation are epicly strong, hope they will just keep improve it  also I wish luck and fun to all players

That would be it from me, my 2 coins!

Feels free to comment, discuss and write ur own experience! mind that this is my personal opinion ( share yours ) and dont turn this topic in '' who give a **** what you think'' pls

Regards

Peter

P.S. sorry for ''bad'' english, not my native language

They have a constant team playing on the PTS. We play an old build that's prolly weeks behind the actual build on pts. We are like a secondary test team to stress the servers and they know that 80% of people will just play and not report any bugs.

How is it a waste of money even if you play 10 hours a month?

Good points Peter- I ended up pre-ordering because the game is so good, but the monthly-sub was a big disincentive. I am hoping they offer some cheaper alternatives like $10/month for a three-month sub, although I would prefer to just buy a game outright and not pay a sub.

I was going to say something really long and deep, but I see these kind of post way too often. Who cares really what you do with your time or money. its not hard to decide if its a yes or no. Back in the day when mmo's where a lot more brutal, people did not cry about what kind of business model the company has imposed on a game right before launch or other unrealistic complaints. Like almost all mmo's, its gonna be a ruff launch, and there is no perfect mmo out there. I don't know if its this generation of people or whats the deal... so pay/play or move on to something else that's suits you, like something free :)

You have to decide whether it is worth it to you.

General single player game with no additional content might take 20-30 hours to play through it. I paid $60 for the game. Works out to $2.00 an hour. Sometimes its good enough to be worth it, and has some replay value; I consider DA:O to be a game like that.

ESO runs to about 200 hours for one faction's quests. When you reach level 50 you can go to another faction's area and do those quests for about 200 hours. Then you can go to the third faction's area and do those quests for another 200 hours. You have pvp in addition to that. Then the content they are planning to release every 4-6 weeks.

I don't have a problem paying for the content. It is worth it to me. I pay a heck of a lot more each month for my cable service, and usually watch only a half dozen channels when I watch tv at all. Paying to have the game on hand when I want to play isn't that big of a deal.

If the game ever goes free to play, I'll drop it in a second.

basing a business model on player donations seems like a silly thing for a company to do

The thing with human nature is, once you have had your cake and eaten it, you expect all cake to be eaten.

Before it was a pat to play model. too many have show a viable F2P model and take income from monthly subs for those that want to pay with reward system for loyal customers, and a micro installment model, where players pay for what they want, when they want it.

Too many of us are now used to micro payment F2P models that, that is what we expect. thats the simple answer.

We will see, is all we can say. those that keep paying will undoubtedly keep them afloat, until the player base disappears and they need a new model to make it work. if they dont change with the times, then the game will go the way of the doe doe, just like warhammer.

pay for something isnt big deal, but i am talking about pay constantly just to be able to play, and with such big content it demands ton on time and money to get ''high'' and then again after lets say 2 month break, i have to pay again just to play not lvl up, just to walk around... its not working for me... just dont...

ty for sharing your opinion :)

sure, it doesnt matter that they are earning 10x more money then P2P .... personally I support F2P if they dont have P2W element 'cause they dont force player to pay all time and i can spend money on some other stuff in that game, also company is earning a lot more money as well, so F2P game without P2W element are very enjoyable to play and profit for both devs and players, anyway that's alrdy proved, i am not ''selling dreams''...
