Epic TES moments

Yeah tell your epic moments here.

Oblivion:

My recent epic moment was quite scary.Im a thief.I went to the tidewater cave to take the eye of nocturnal. My character was quite weak. And he doesnt really master the combat.Especially close combat. So i had to hide in the shadows. I managed to stay hidden this whole time until once i left the cave with the eye,i saw light trough the the dark bushes(it was night)i thought it was a bandit camp so I tried to go around.Too late, someone saw me.So I stood up from the dark bushes and saw a man with a torch and bow.He was just a legion forester. But why did he pull his bow and started aiming at me?I had no bounty....so then I hear this growl and heavy running behind me,there was a troll running towrds me!So I managed to run away from the beast, but I was curious that would the forester survive the attack...if not I would be able to take his stuff. His bow at least.I still had my rusty iron bow.Not much use to me.So I hid in the nearby bushes and heard the forester grunt in pain. Then after 30 seconds, the sounds stopped.I waited for a few more seconds so the troll would get away. Then I stood from the bushes and tried to find his body. Then I hear the heavy feet of the troll again,he was right behind me ...again.I thought f*** this and ran all the way to leyawiin. For my luck, the troll was slow compared to my fast thief.

This song expresses an "epic" TES moment of mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV8qanp65-E

I describe it as the following, in rememberence of travelling in the great wilderness of Cyrodiil.

"The stars shimmer above, like diamonds in the dark, endless firmament.
Accompanied are the moons of Secunda and Masser, illuminating the environment with their mystical moonlight.

I am alone, but I do not feel alone.
I feel safe and peaceful, as I run through countless of trees, to finally reach a hill - looking down at the mighty Empire of Cyrodiil."

Finding the amulet of axes, +25 blunt and a high resist damage enchantment too, worth like 15000 gold. awesome find.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Amulet_of_Axes#Amulet_of_Axes

But the downside was I was blade orientated, and did not find amulet of blades :(

The time when I become a Knight-Errant in the Knights of the White Stallion was probably one of the most amazing moments for me in TES. Just the feeling of joining a faction, and having this sick lodge all to my own with a loot dungeon right near it was amazing.

Morrowind:
I was just walking around with my vampire char, minding my own business, when suddenly I see some light coming over the horizon. I didn't get it at first, I just looked at it, but then I was like: Ooooh hell!
And so I started to run everywhere I could, hoping to find some damn cave to take shelter in. There was just one little problem; THERE WERE NO FREAKING CAVES!!!!

Things were getting desperate when suddenly I saw a cave door in the distance! I ran all the way there, got in with like no health at all, and thought I was saved. Only to hear someone say: N'Wah!! and a few seconds later I was dead at the hands of some crazed [censored] who lived there.

I was recently playing oblivion, and I had made a wood elf thief/archer kind of character. Before I left the sewers, I waited to make sure it was night time, and then I exited into Cyrodiil. So I started walking towards that little bandit camp, but then I got a crazy idea. "What if I tried to kill one of them from all the way over there on that hill?" So, I walked off a little ways, got into the sneaking position, brought up my bow, and aimed pretty decently into the sky. A few seconds later, I heard a faint "ooh!" .... Ahh, sniping bandits.

In Morrowind, I had just finished reading http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:The_House_of_Troubles for the first time, this was back when I knew little of the lore of the Elder Scrolls universe. I then left to go exploring in hopes of finding treasure, and stumbled onto the Daedric ruins Yansirramus. I saw the giant statue of a Daedric Prince and tried to interact with it (I had never done a Daedric quest before, I figured they were all just statues meant to look cool) and was stunned to find Molag Bal speaking to me. It was quite frightening, having the knowledge of exactly who he was fresh in my mind.

In Redguard, the speech that Cyrus gives during the "soul gem" cutscene (to avoid spoilers) was genuinely motivating, much more than Martin's speech before the Great Gate of Bruma (which, don't get me wrong, was also motivating.) It was perfect. I really felt the weight of the situation at that moment. It was as though Cyrus was not only motivating the NPCs around him, but the player as well, and that's exactly what he did.

In Oblivion, discovering the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Lost_Boy_Cavern and finding the non-journal quest was incredible. I had already put 500+ hours into the game and never found that. It gave me a new appreciation for the game, and it was a lot of fun.

The endings to both Morrowind and Oblivion were obviously epic in their own rights.

Daggerfall- getting lost in the titanic labrynthine bowels of castle faallen. Ive not seen a bigger dungeon in all my years of gaming.

Morrowind- before I was used to the map, being lost in the canyons of molag amur, low supplies, broken weapons, low health in the middle of a duststorm having no idea where i was and if I would survive whatever lay beyond the next valley. <-- this alone is why one should play morrowind.

Oblivion- falling down the trapdoors in Ebrocca. Raiding the skingrad wine cellar as a thief for the first time. splinter cell meets lord of the rings.

I'll start with my most epic moment in all my TES playing...

Tharectarn Greenscale was out swimming for pearls in the water near his home town Sayda Neen, when a swarm of slaughterfish left him with enough scales to call it a day, but with to little health to survive a single fish, so I sleept on a small island which only had a small tomb, after having picked all the mushrooms and killed the only mudcrab... but I awoke to get a dart thrown at me and as I turned around an assassin wearing black was upon me... still weak and left with little to no health I baricated myself inside the tomb and after having fully rested (it was now 6pm) I prepared to use the scrolls I had found on an old man who fell from the sky, I ran out the door, cast the scroll, then jumped... I landed far, far, away... I didn't want to chack my map as it would get wet... I was in water, deep, blue, water... I swam and suddenly night was upon me (I was playing with a homemade script which makes me slowly gain frost damage if I'm outside at night...) I felt my health slowly disapear as I saw land, and sadly, slaughterfish... I couldn't resist... all those pearls... more than my poor argonian had ever seen, I drank my only potion, fought of the slaughterfish, and gathered the pearls. As I got up from the water I saw towers... I opened my map and marked that I was at ebonheart... sadly I had left all my gold in a chest at my home, and had to trade all my pearls in for a trip to Sayda Neen, first thing I did when I arived was sell the few pearks and scales I had found in for some gold at the local trader, then I ate and went to sleep...''

My second-most epic moment was with Tharectarn Greenscales grandson (in OB) he is known simply as Axeman, after all he ended up in Cyrodill after using his axe in a bar-fight back on Vvardenfall...

My last war-axe was nearly broken, as I sneaked around outside an old imperial fort... I spotted a bandit carrying a dwarven war-axe, I poisoned my steel waraxe with damage fatigue 10 points for 17 sec (I was nearly run out of poisons), then I moved in for a sneak attack, I spilled the first blood... the damn cat didn't know what hit it. I dodged its attack by rolling, blocking, and jumping, before quickly re-poisoning my weapon and striking again... before I knew it we were up on the stairs, and the bandit got one big hit on me which lead to three more... I was nearly dead when we reached the top of the tower... the entire middle of the floor had aparently been destroyed ages ago... I blocked an attack pushing my oponent towards the edge... there I poisoned my axe with damage agility and dealt its last attack before it crumbled... my opponent fell down and landed on the cold dirt... before she got up I used one of my two only damage health poisons (I had hopped I could save it, but I knew I wouldn't be able to stand another meele attack) on an arrow (I had 5 in marksman) then shoot her before she got up... infact she never got up after the arrow hit her... I picked-open a chest, planing on afterwards retriving my new axe, then I could finally walk to the imperial city and buy me in on a inn and heal myself, but no... a dog destroyed my dreams... I saw it charging towards me, I had no other choice than to jump down hopping I'd land on the remains of a large pillar... I was lucky, from there I jumped down, picked up the axe, and just got it poisoned with my other damage health as the dog reached me... my attack didn't kill it, but my serpant spell did... I fell to the ground, and the dog dropped dead... I had won...

I remember sneaking around Castle Bravil. Looking for a few things to steal for the Thieves Guild; All of a sudden I hear, "Murder! there's been a murder!" I certainly haven't killed anyone, so I head back to see the commotion and there I see the Count of Bravil, slain where he sat.

I had no idea who killed him, as he was the only corpse there but I thought it was pretty damn epic that someone came in, slit his throat and dashed off without being caught.

Playing Morrowind for the first time.It was my first RPG,and I was a brat that'd go on random rampages on GTA using cheats.

My friend had warned me beforehand:
"In this game, think twice before you attack somebody. It's not easy to kill people."

After completing my registration,I went out from Seyda Neen.To try out this new game where it's not easy to kill stuff,I attacked a Mudcrab with my iron dagger. It started to pwn me.I ran off to the hills, only to be cornered by Nix Hounds and Kwama Foragers. With an army of creatures behind me,I kept running and made it back to Seyda Neen somehow, than I saw guards come and help me.Taking a breath,I decided to listen to my friend's advice and advance cautiously. So I started wandering around, and than I saw it:

THE ALMIGHTY SILT STRIDER,a creature taller than buildings and looking 100 times deadlier than anything I had encountered.I don't recall how I ran back to the city. That moment of amazement mixed with fear and excitement, was my epicest experience ever and I fell in love with TES from that moment on.

when i was having a sleepover with my friend and he were playing Morrowind together in the 6th grade, we were traveling around Vivec which at that time I was still in awe in its sheer size and scope and finally coming across an ordinator. My friend told me that the ordinator was the elite guard and WAAAAY to strong for me. I then put on my adrenaline rush, got my demon katana and drank as many potions as possible and rushed that guy with everything i had. after getting 2 shotted several times I barely beat him with a sliver of my health and equipped his armor after cheering and doing several OMIGAWDS. I then talked to the other ordinator to pay my 40 gold bounty but he just attacked and killed me. We just looked at each other and yelled a few choice words.

also up there was my first encounter with a vampire and trying to kill it but my axe skill was only at 5 and i refused to use anything other than the iron battle axe because i thought it was BA, and meeting the HIGH ordinator.
