Equipment slots

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:32 pm

you know what was annoying in MW and OB??

the lack of equippment slots, when the item number increased in your inventory it became a nightmare trying to find the items you were actualy wearing not to mention ring swapping

I would love to see something like this (NOT exactly), wouldn't you??

it will make life easier especially when trying to look for items in the inventory

hope the link works

When you equipped something in Morrowind the items gathered at the left side of your inventory (right next to the character window), so they were quite easy to find... also I think you could unequip items by clicking on them in the character window.

Oblivion lacked both of these things.

I do support your idea, since it looks more organized. It's great to be able to see which slots are or are not in use... both Morrowind and Oblivion lacked that.

I also agree, much easier to manage items. Oblivions way of going about it is horrible, its hard to find much of anything in my gigantic sack

I think it would be a lot more manageable if they simply put items you equipped at the top of the list.

If quest items are still not able to be dropped after the associated quest is complete pls make something similar to the keychain for keys for quest items.

Head Wear

Eye Wear
Lower Face - face mask, etc
Neck - Necklace/amulet/etc
Quiver - Ammo
Back - cloak/pack
Ring 1
Ring 2

Torso
Legs
Pauldron Left
Pauldron Right
Vembrace Left - Covers around wrist and lower arm. Vembraces/bracelets
Vembrace Right - Like above but on the right!
Glove Left
Glove Right
Foot Wear

"Under" wear

Torso - Shirt/etc
Legs - Pants/etc
Socks - socks/stockings/ etc

Left handed item slot - Equipment in use.
Right handed item slot - Equipment in use.

Over wear - Certain articles of clothing like Cloaks, tabbards, coats, robes, etc can go over armor.

Also certain armour may overlap into other slots. Example: Gauntlets would take up both the vembrace and wrist slot. Or a mask may take up the eye wear, lower face, or even head wear slot.

Also customizable underwear while we're at it. Why does everyone wear the same same loin cloth. :P

My ideal set up to amour slots.

snip

Looks great, but I'd add a skirt slot. :vaultboy:

Edit:

I guess skirts might be a part of the "etc"... since they would be over the armor. :)

Quest items not being droppable after the quest is complete is a bug. Why would you build something to compensate for a bug instead of fixing the bug? And if you did, what are the odds that you'd remember to add them to the keychain if you forgot to remove the quest status?

The only way to do this would be to have a separate "quest item" menu, which would be both very weird, and make things harder since some weapons/armor/jewelry would suddenly be in a different menu from the rest of the similar items you carry.

That would go over to Over wear. Or be in leg wear.

Excellent, a chance to say 'ability to delete spells you no longer use' for the 20th time. And if a keychain is too much to ask, can the repair hammers go above them this time.

I like this idea of a more organized menu, I did not really have a problem with either Morrowinds or Oblivions menus, I liked Morrowinds a little better but they should make it easier to scroll threw, and they should catagorize things neater.

Agreed, it was a pain in Oblivion, but http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/26818-the-elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind-windows-screenshot-inventory.jpg.

With which mods installed? 'Cause it damn sure didn't do this in the vanilla game. :pinch:

Yep, it always put all my items at the top of the list when you have the sorter on all items. This is with both 360 and PC version in mind btw.

The items are highlighted, but not stacked at the top. I do not think of it as much of a problem though, due to smaller fonts and other user-made content.

I think Morrowind's system was pretty good. You could find what you were wearing very easily, but unequipped items were another story.

However, this looks too MMO to me.I don't really like MMO's...If they can manage in some unique looking way,it's okay.If it'll be the same thing with a different textured window,I'd even prefer Oblivion's...
