Error?

Post » Sun Jul 11, 2010 9:18 am

I downloaded Daggerfall, got that zipped to the directory that the guide says (I'm using the official one) and that's done. However, when it comes to mounting the D drive, I'll copy the exact line I'm supposed to type:

mount d c:\dosgames\dfcd -t cdrom -label Daggerfall.

I get the error message in DOSBOX stating that drives should be continuos (Or something along those lines)
I've been trying to do this for about five days now, what the heck have I done wrong?

I would follow these http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1012957-alternative-daggerfall-install-instructions/ by Taemos instead. Also make sure you're using DOSBox 0.73.

Are you putting -label Daggerfall at the end of the line? If you are, that might be your problem because you don't need it.

Edit: If you follow the official instructions you need -label Daggerfall. Didn't realize that.

I can't get Daggerfall to work either. It's all installed and everything, but I get an error when I try to play. It says I have to wrong cd in...I've followed the instructions given by bethesda so I don't know what's going on.

No idea.

If you followed the http://static.gamesas.com/downloads/games/daggerfall_legal_and_installation.pdf, the "wrong CD" error generally happen because of two reasons.
  • You're using an older version of DOSBox than 0.73, the solution is to download the latest release of http://www.dosbox.com/.
  • When you mount the CD in DOSBox, the "-label Daggerfall" part is case sensitive. You must write Daggerfall, not daggerfall or dAGGERFALL or anything else.

I've had the same problem until I realized that on my PC the CD drive was called E:\
Maybe you should try
mount e c:\dosgames\dfcd -t cdrom -label Daggerfall
.
