Error...

I tried to play the construction set, and when I went to load the open the Oblivion file, instead of what I was told it would do, it did this:

Oblivion.esm is a higher version than this EXE can load.

Continue Running Executable?
"Yes to all" will disable all Warnings in this session.

And then it has the buttons, "Yes, No, Yes to all".

So, what am I doing wrong, how do I fix it, and what should I try making for a first mod? :P

But, yeah, whats wrong with my system?

EDIT: I un-installed, and re-installed and it fixed the problem. But when trying to load the Oblivion file, it goes for awhile and then it doesn't respond. What should I do now?

RE-EDIT: Now it loaded, but its going slow. Anything I can do to increase how fast it goes? Also, what should I start with? I want to know how to start modding something. How would I put a Silver Dagger on a crate in the Imperial Waterfront?

The problem is because you are using the older version of the CS. Update to the one that is compatible with Oblivion 1.2, and you won't have this problem.

Alright. I updated, and it is working completely, and with some better speed to it. Last question:

Is there anywhere I can download stuff just to use when modding? Oh, and another question:

Is there anyone who takes requests? There are some small mods I want made. I would also like the process recorded, so I can try to learn from them.

Try bringing up your processes window (Ctrl + Alt + Del; then click on the Processes tab). Right click on any processes that you don't need, with a high CPU Usage, that do NOT have the username of LOCAL or SYSTEM, and click End Process. If you don't know what it is, don't end it. It might be useful for your computer (such as explorer, which is all of the UI for windows).
You could avoid doing most of that by loading up the CS, then going back to the processes tab, right clicking on TESConstructionSet.exe and setting it's Priority to high (definately not realtime. That's sure to crash it. It's much worse than low). That means your CPU(s) prioritise much more of their capacity to the CS, so you should get it running faster. However, other loaded applications (which you probably don't want open anyhow, because they'll still be svcking out some CPU capacity) may run slightly slower as a result.

Is there anywhere I can download stuff just to use when modding?
Luckily, yes! Check out http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=948908 thread. If it says it's a "resource", you can use it as you like - as long as you credit the owner.

Is there anyone who takes requests?
Some people are kind enough to help people with request (the smaller they are, the more likely you'll find some help). Just post a thread starting with "[REQ] (then your post name/idea)" as the title of the thread, in the Oblivion Mods section, or in this forum. However, you might want to learn how to use the CS on your own so you no longed need to rely on people to do things for you! Check out http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Category:A_beginner%27s_guide tutorial to get you on your feet. Otherwise, search on the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page for many more articles for ideas and help. It covers all aspects of the CS, so don't be worried if you find something scarily hard early on! This way you don't need someone to record what they do in their small mods (because everything you might want to know is up there somewhere!)

How would I put a Silver Dagger on a crate in the Imperial Waterfront?
Well, I wouldn't recommend that you do this first (do the tutorial I linked above first, it's a great starting point and teaches you all of the basics in one clean swoop), but check out the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Containers,_doors,_Havok_objects,_and_Enemy_Placement#Containers to see how to put things in crates. It's part of the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Category:My_First_Dungeon tutorial. Additionally, if you want to know about how to make a house, you can take the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Creating_a_House tutorial. That covers containers in much more detail, and some more complicated stuff than in the beginners guide. It's easy to follow and generally great - because I wrote it. :P

I hope that helped with all your questions, and Good Luck! Once you've started wandering down the slippery road of modding for Oblivion, you won't be able to turn away! :)
