Whenever I try to load a saved game or start a new one, I encounter errors. These errors show up, and when OK is hit after the third error, the game stays on the symbol/smoke screen. There are no words or other symbols, aside from the symbol of the Empire.

I have no mods installed. I have uninstalled the game completely, reinstalled it via Steam and through the disk, removed all applicable files, and even uninstalled/reinstalled Steam itself. Nothing has fixed it. Verifying the game cache has no effect.

Any help would be appreciated.
