Esbern=Esbern

Just remember guys, they recycle names from past games, likely to give spins of "what if" for different times and places. Arrielle Jurard was both a heroic battlemage AND corrupt lich in Oblivion. Look it up

I don't know, on a fansite, I will find the link, right now, my brain hurts, im trying to play clue and chat on a forum and the same time and it isnt working :(

Well it'd make sense if Esbern was a nord. His name sounds Nord and he's a blade in Skyrim. But the Blades primarily worship Talos don't they? So how come the Esbern in Oblivion is a replacement for Hill the Tall who is a priest of Arkay? (Or Kynareth just in the wrong chapel) And about the connection with Esbern and the prophet, the prophet WAS Talos, yes? But then he dissapeared, and then Esbern started ranting about Talos and seems to know about all your holy exploits. So, is Esbern the prophet (I know they look nothing alike) and Talos?

I think you're just thinking too much about it. There are plenty of TES characters who have the same name as a character from another TES game with no connections whatsoever. It's like the real world, sometimes people have the same name. For example, Volanaro was the Altmer mage in the Bravil Mages Guild, but there's also an Altmer bandit in Morrowind named Volanaro. And then there's the Cyrus example I gave earlier.

Esbern of KOTN is just Esbern of KOTN. No reason to assume any relation to the Esbern of Skyrim.

Wait, what? Akatosh is the bad guy now?

Yes.. well.. no... well, according to Nord religion Akatosh the god of time who supposedly helped create the world is also the destroyer of the world in Nord perspective, he also comes with a shiny new name in thier religion, Alduin. So he isnt really the bad guy because he is just stuck in a cycle of eating up the old world and creating a new one in its place, i THINK this is the second time he has tried to do this, first time he was stopped by other Dragonborn eons ago and now hes come to try again and we have to discover how the old Dragonborn stopped him which is prophesized on Alduin's wall (The seperation of the Staff of Chaos, the return of the Numidium, the destuction of Dagoth Ur and the opening of the Oblivion gates all are signs of the return of Alduin)... so wether he gets pleasure from killing everyone and everything in existence i dont know (i hope so, im hoping hes a big jerk and we have to show im a lesson :D) but he has to do it anyway...

Allow me to shed some light on this...

While I am equal to myself, I am not the same Esbern that appeared in Oblivion.

Thank you.

nope just coincidence, or they liked the name and decided to use it over
either way, theres virtually no chance of any connection between the two

think again...

quoted from UESP wiki's walkthrough for the misc. quest from bloodmoon, betrayal at brodir grove...

i only quoted the necessary part, otherwise it'd be a small wall of text... this nord is over 500 years old, either bethesda messed up with the lore here, or nords can live nearly as long as elves.

he lived that long because he was cursed and became 'living rock' or something like that, that gave him immortality as a side effect

Yea...i did read somewhere in a Morrowind Book that Alduin = Akatosh.

Did they change the Lore on that?

idk if all that stuff is true
i think they mean he is the closest correlation to akatosh, not that they are the actual same being
kind of like saying zeus and odin are the same, not because they are one being but because they are both the heads of their respective pantheons and can be compared easier than others from the 2 pantheons

It was comfirmed that Alduin (the dragon) is the second side to Akatosh, and that like Sheogorath turns into Jiggalag, Akatosh turns into Esbern. http://www.giantbomb.com/esbern/94-17611/character_enemies/ Esbern is Talos.

Esbern is the last surviving blade, and he's a Redguard, his face is own the "behind the scences video with Todd" he is the black man with an afro in black and white, also it mentions in a Russian mag or a Frence that Esbern comes and saves you from your excution and it mentions him as a Redguard.
