Escape

Welcome to Escape

It is dusk. You have just finished your job and are coming home for the night. You pass by your friend's house and say "hello" without knowing that that would probably be the last word you will ever say to him. You continue down the road to your house, where you walk in the door. The queer lighting of the multiple candles of your house fill up the enterance, and the smell of roasted pork fills your nostrils. Your wife and kids appear, and they run to you in happiness. You sit down to have dinner, and it is good. You think nothing of the fact that this might be your last portion of roasted pork you will ever eat. You talk with your family and you go off to bed, ready to make the same routine in the morning.

You have a strange dream where you are sleeping in your bed. You wake up because you think you hear something downstairs. You think nothing of it, but because it is a dream, you are compelled to check it. Nothing seems real, time is distorted and you see yourself walk down the stairs outside of your body. You go to the bottom of the stairs where you see three men in dark cloaks. They look at you, and they freeze. Then they come towards you, and you are filled with the greatest fear you have ever known.

But then it dissipates as you awake. You notice how your back has hurt as if you slept on rocks, and you roll over to get out of bed, and you open your eyes. You are no longer inside of your bedroom in your house.

Rules!:
1. No Godmodding/Metagaming : Which basically means don't do anything that is super-human or your character wouldn't know.
2. No Puppeting : Don't control other characters.
3. Use proper grammar and punctuation : "They went to eat at the restaurant." not "they went and eated at the food plcae"
4. Keep it PG-13
5. At least one paragraph per post
6. I am Lord and Master and Creator.
7. No travelling into rooms which have not been defined by the Master (that's me) : Don't go into places which I haven't talked about or mentioned.

Dungeon

Right here will be the dungeon that you have discovered and adventured in. It will be constantly updated with positions of people, and where everyone is, and what everyone has encountered. (Sorry it's initially small but it will grow. -shrug-)

You awake in a small room. It's relatively small, but you get it. It's dark, but it's lit by multiple torches. These torches are detatchible.

The room itself seems to be made out of stone tiles, mildewed and aged to the point of delapidation. There is an iron grated door. It is unlocked.

(Sorry its short but I gotta go eat.)

OOC: I guess your starting post was just a way to tell us "after a normal day you go to sleep, you wake up in a dream, meet three men, you get afraid and when you wake up you are in this dungeon", right?

IC:
"Oww... My bones hurt..." Jolfdarr grunted before looking around and looked up to see where he was. It was a small rectangular stone room, with torches on the walls. Just in front of himself Jolfdarr is able to see two persons on the floor, still sleeping. Both of them seems to be wearing atleast some armour. He looks around a bit more and notices that there are more people in the room, around 5-6 of them actually. Three of them seemed to be mercenaries or bandits of some sort since they were clad in some sort of armor.
They are propably out for my bones... Jolfdarr thought with a shiver going down his spine and grabbed his bone necklace and began to calm down when he felt how the bones lay trustfully in his hands.
The others who were clad in more normal clothes were propably taken there to convince him to give the bandits his bones away in return for freedom...

After these horrific thoughts began to grow in Jolfdarr′s head he began to look after his boneclub and found it just behind him, on the spot where his back had previously been sleeping on. He immediately took it, cast away a suspicious glance at the others and hugged it. Jolfdarr started to notice the door in the corner of the room and was just about to rise up and escape when he stopped himself...
No, I can′t do that... That is exactly what they suppose me to do and they have propably set up a trap there which will take my bones...
Troubled with the cleverness of them Jolfdarr decided to lean himself to the wall behind him, with his club ready in his hands and wait for the others to wake up.
They wont expect that...

OOC: I hope this is good enough, oh, and since the others have not posted I assumed they are still asleep/unconscious... Sorry if that was godmodding.

OOC: @Haresus I don't think that's godmodding, I would assume that this is how people would start off anyway. On a side note, it would be great if you'd (Dungeon Master) put each characters profile in the first post underneath their name. That way, we wouldn't have to go back to the other thread checking who is who and what they do.
Ps. I'm quite of a noob to RPing, so how do conversations between other characters go? Do I just say something to someone and wait for an answer in the next post? Thanks (Also, can we add small objects (Like sharp stones, for example) to the rooms, or is it just the DM that can do so?... Ohh, and can we DIE?).

RP: Espell slowly opens his eyes and quickly realizes that he's in some type of a dungeon. His head rises to see who or what else is in the room. Espell sees 5 other people laying on the floor, just like him. But one of them is standing against a wall, holding a club made of bones... I... I better keep my head down for now..., he thinks. His head hits the floor quicker then intended, and so he tries to stop himself from yelling from the pain by biting his bottom lip: You never know what the guy with the club might be up to. His bottom lip starts bleeding.

After 5 minutes, he gets tired of laying down. The floor becomes uncomfortable and really cold. He forgets about the man with a bone weapon and slowly moves his entire body up, with his hands leaning against the wall trying to help his legs out a bit. When finally up, his legs feel really weak, so he leans against the stone cold wall. He turns his attention to the torch next to him, and places his shivering hands really close to the warm and cosy torch. He looks around the room, realizing that the others are still on the floor, unconscious, apart from the man with the club. Espell softly smiles at the man remembering that he's there and says:
"Well, isn't this a lovely place for a conversation. But where are my manners, my name's Espell. What's yours, friend?".

OOC: It was Lucas that Elusdyr rolled over to.

Elusdyr rolled over blissfully, and felt to his left, looking for one of his wenches. He felt someone, and moving closer, and started stroking them. Something didn't feel right, it was cold in here. He opened his eyes, and was shocked. This isn't my manor! And this isn't a wench!. He recoiled in disgust. His clothes were mysteriously on, and his lute was lying next to him. He grabbed the lute and looked up, seeing a man with a club. Since men with clubs are often figures of authority and reverence, Elusdyr assumed the one man awake(who had a club!), must be responsible for this.

Elusdyr leaped up, brandished his lute as a makeshift blunt weapon, and shouted "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY WENCHES, BARBARIAN!?!? WHERE AM I?!? I'LL BE REPORTING THIS TO THE BARD'S UNION.".

Espell looked at the stressed man in a fancy dress and spoke with a laud tone:
"Worry not. He is no barbarian. By the way, its quite rude of you to interrupt my conversation with this man. He was about to tell me his name. But guessing from what you've just said, your obviously a bard. That's good, at least we will have someone to entertain us while we try to find an exit to this place. I doubt that the iron door to my left is an exit. That usually isn't the case when people get kidnapped. My name is Espell Senlorr. An alchemist. You lot might be needing me later on... Ermm... Sorry, so what's your name bard?" Espell asked with curiosity as he crouched down while still leaning against the stone wall.

His head was facing the floor, but he turned it towards the Altmer once again and said sarcastically:
"So? Are you planning on answering me today, or should I wait a couple of hours?". He then swiped his fingers across the cold bricks of the dungeon and looked back at the floor. He was trying to remember HOW he got here, but all he remembered was him going to sleep and that terrifying nightmare. Maybe I was druged when asleep? He thought. That would explain that weird dream. But maybe I was knocked unconscious? I WAS camping far outside of Bravil, and bandits usually hang around there. He only knew, that he had no clue how he got here, why is he here or WHERE he is.

"He's a nord. With a club. And the lingering gaze of stupidity that comes with staring into nothingness while waiting foir the few cogs in his brain to come together. He's obviously a barbarian." Said Elusdyr. "I'm Elusdyr, the greatest bard in the world, founder of the Bard's Union, and renowned Poet and Songwriter in every court of Tamriel. I have turned many foul monsters back into the dust from whence the came using my powerful music. My lockpicking skills have laid waste to almost every chastity belt in Tamriel, and many more without. And you, friend, seem to be a silly, defeatist gutter mage with delusions of granduer. I, however, am an optimist, and I believe that beyond that door, lies our freedom! So unless you want to rot in this cave forever, I'd suggest moving along with me. These fine fellows will figure out to do the same as soon as they come too. Once we're outside in the fresh air, we can part ways, and be better for it."

Jolfdarr saw how a person in the right corner moved, but Jolfdarr wasnt sure if he had been awake or just been dreaming. After around five minutes the man rises again and Jolfdarr was eyeing this new person carefully. It was an imperial, handsome looking some would say.
"Well, isn't this a lovely place for a conversation. But where are my manners, my name's Espell. What's yours, friend?". Espell asked.
Jolfdarr was just opening his mouth to ask if he believed in bones when an altmer in some extremly interesting clothes rose up screaming something about barbarians, wenches and bards.
What a funny group of people, wenches, barbarians and bards. They really should make a play about those... Jolfdarr thought and was just about to open his mouth and ask if this new person was the wench in the play, or perhaps the barbarian with those clothes when Espell started talking again.

Espell′s first words just concluded what Jolfdarr himself already had understood.
"Worry not. He is no barbarian."
Then he must be the wench! Jolfdarr′s mind concluded with a smile.
But then the stupid Imperial seemed to errupt into a cascade of weird theories about how the wench was the bard... Wasnt he just the wench?

After that the wench answered in another cascade of words... This hurts my head! How can they talk so much without talking about bones?
He decided that it was time to get things straight and orderly in this band of madmen:
"Do you believe in bones?" He said to the two men.

OOC: Sorry if it was a bit confusing :P Jolfdarr IS mad after all.

Jolfdarr just stared at this weird wench and decided that this person must be dim-witted.
"Bones. Talk. To. Me. Bandits. Try. Steal. MY. Bones. Do. You. Understand. Goldenrod?"
He didnt like high elves, they always behaved as if nords were stupid. This guy just proved that nords were the smart ones and the high elves were the stupid ones. As Jolfdarr thought about this clever realization he began clapping his bone club, which calmed him down a little...

Espell watched the two man talk and he suddenly interrupted:
"Stop that nonsense. First, we will need to wait for the others to awake so we can tell them what's going on. I'd be quite rude to just leave them lying here, especially that they'll be shocked when they finally awake. I say we stay in here for now, gather, and finally plan out who is going to do what. Ohh, and we will also need a leader to keep us organized. We cannot walk off in twos or threes, that would weaken the group and IF the dungeon is dangerous, we could be easily killed by Goblins and other weird creatures".

He then stood up and walked up to the iron door. He grabbed the handle and struggled to open it, but he finally managed after a few tries. He couldn't see anything apart from darkness in the next corridor. Espell turned to Elusdyr and said "It doesn't seem like 'freedom' to me. Although the door is unlocked, which is a good sign I guess". He then smashed the door really aggressively hoping that someone in the room would wake up from the loud sound it had made...

Jolfdarr stared at Espell in fear when he opened the door, and immediately he ran up and closed it again.
"Traps out there which will take my bones! And perhaps people... And creatures! And the noise may wake them up! They may come here, kill me and take my bones! We should wait here and discuss what to do, rest, listen to the bones and wait until everyone is awake. Especially the bandits... Perhaps I was wrong... Perhaps they are the barbarians? Then they can help us." Jolfdarr stumbled out while quickly looking out from the door but didnt really pay attention to what he saw.
The wench is here... The barbarians are here... Where is the bard? Jolfdarr thought to himself.

"It's obvious not capable of advanced thought or speech. I think we should just leave it here and move on." Eludyr observed the clapping, and his feeligns were a mixture of pity and disgust.

Espell begun walking towards a bald man with a funny beard who was the nearest to the iron door and whom was still unconscious. He looked at him with curiosity, and slightly touched his amulet. Beautiful indeed, he thought to himself. He stood up onto his feet and spoke with a calm voice: "I do believe in bones. My apologises for ignoring your question a minute ago" he stated. He later continued "It makes me wonder, of what type if bone is your clothing and weapon made out of? Goblin bone? Daedroth? Also, I don't seem to recall your name...". Said Espell with confusion in his eyes.

While waiting for an answer from the bone man, he quickly walked up to Elusdyr, dragging his left wounded leg behind him, and whispered to his ear: "Be more polite. He's a madman with a sheathed weapon. First, lets make sure he isn't a murderer and then you can start making fun of him".

Jolfdarr began to grin greatly when he heard the questions about the bones.
Perhaps these people are interested in the Way of The Bone?
"It is made of a little bit of everything... See here" Jolfdarr points on a bone on his stomach. "This is from a cat and this here..." Jolfdarr points a bit up. "... is from a high elf." He turns to the wench when he says this and his grin becomes even bigger. "It would propably take ages to count each one of these bones, ops... What was that?" Jolfdarr stops and listens for a while. "One of my bones says that he wants to be the friend of yours... Can I loan your hand for a while?" He asks Espell.

"A... a friend? Well, I'm sure your Mer bones have enough friends. I...I'm fine, but thanks for, er, asking. Yes". Espells mind was still puzzled as he looked upon the Nords armour. Did he say a HIGH ELF? No, that's not good. Not good at all. I need the others to awake, quickly. It might be dangerous to be in the same room as him, although... Maybe if I get him to like me and vice versa, I will be able to stop him from harming anyone, including himself. Espell started sweating and begun to speaking to Jolfdarr with a trembling voice:
"Alright, so how did you get those humanoid bones? Did you dig the graves of the dead? Or... did you... kill...?"

Espell could feel his heart beating faster every second. He was terrified of murderers, assassins and mad barbarians of any sort.

Jolfdarr blinked twice.
What′s up with people here? They act all strange... I guess it is because they dont believe in bones.
"Nah! He was dead already, apparently he had made a few people angry and got..." Jolfdarr draws a finger from the left side of the throat to the right side. "... A pure gold mine of bones ya know... And high elf bones are especially big too. You know? They are so high and all so that you can even see the difference from a for example nord bone to a high elf bone..." Jolfdarr explained.
"Now THIS bone..." Jolfdarr takes up another bone. "... is from a Orc! He insulted me and my bones and deserved what got to him, but lets not talk about such things! Not now, anything else you wanted to discuss?" Jolfdarr asked.

EDIT: I will go asleep soon, expect me to come back in between 8 to 12 hours. If you others post while I am asleep then I will just make a post explaining why he didnt answer anything (a vision from Sheogorath or bones or whateverish).

OOC: Yeah, for reals!

IC: Karrod awakes, then quickly rises to a sitting position. His gaze stopping on the conversing men in the room with him. Karrod, being cautious, draws his dagger. He merely sits in a dark corner, barely visible, as he notices the door next to him.

Karrod vaguely remembers what happened before he came here. Karrod was laying in bed with his beautiful wife, when he heard something from below. Having no children or pets, Karrod got worried. He slowly lifted out of his bed not to disturb his wife, and slowly moved downstairs. Before he could react, his body became numb and stiff. He fell down the stairs, hitting his head against the wall, causing him to go unconscious.

Karrod rubbed his forehead in agony, the pain suddenly getting to him. Karrod didn't know where he was, but he didn't feel like asking questions. Whoever put him here obviously didn't want him to hang around and make friends. Karrod, seeing the rest of the party out of eyeshot, slowly opens the door near him, then crawls to the other side, and closes it as softly as he can without making a noise. He then moves over to another corner, and examines his surroundings.

His head ached. He tossed and turned and moaned and groaned. Gundar hadn't had a headache this bad in a long time and he hadn't even been drinking the night before. He tried to sit up, but couldn't. Something was pinning him to the ground. With great difficulty he lifted his arms and tried to bat away whatever was on him. He swung his arms back and forth but all they hit was air. He tried to sit up again. He lifted his upper body with all the effort he could muster but, alas, it was futile. As his back hit the ground there came a loud sound of steel hitting stone. “What the...”, he opened his eyes. “Where am I?” He looked around and spotted the problem. He was wearing his armor. He tried to get up again. Turning on his side and using his hand for leverage, he just about managed to make it to his feet. He seemed to be in a dungeon of some sort. There were other people as well. Some standing by a door and some, seemingly, asleep. He rubbed his eyes convinced it was an alcohol induced dream.

OOC: I think you have slightly misunderstood Jolfdarr′s clothes. In his description is says: "Mostly wearing rags with human(oid) and animal bones stuck here and there." Calling it "armour" isnt really right since it doesnt serve any protective use.

Jolfdarr turned around to look at the newcomer and blinked at him.
"Good day, I hope you arent, which I at first suspected, out for my bones?" Jolfdarr asked, while taking a look in the room again. It felt different but he didnt notice anything. "Let me atleast introduce you to my friends, this..." He pointed at the altmer with the `interesting′ clothes. "Is the wench and this..." He pointed at the Imperial. "... is Espell, and you are one of the barbarians?"
Where IS the bard? This was ruining the whole play!

Elusdyr was only mildly offended by the creature's barbaric display. He doubted that the thing could really understand any retorts he'd make anyway. He ignored the barbaric scum, turned around and saw another guest of this wacky funhouse rising. This one was big and armored, though he looked slightly more civilized then the crazy one with the club. He looked down at him, and said "Welcome to Elusdyr's wild and wacky holiday inn retreat. Do you have a reservation? What's your name?"

Espell sat down on the floor while Elusdyr and Jolfdarr were welcoming the new victim, who seemed like an experienced warrior, and begun anolysing the whole situation to make a decision on what to do next, like he usually does. He thought: Right. We've got a warrior, a bard, and a madman. Oh, and me, an alchemist. Seems like a perfect party of adventurers. All we can hope for next, is some type of a mage. Which is unlikely, knowing that all the other man that are still asleep are either wearing full armour or don't LOOK like mages. There is a small chance that the bold guy behind me is a mage, but from what I've seen of him and his equipment, its unlikely. Heh, I'm so tired, I can't even be bothered to look back...

He closed his eyes, and begun going back to the few memories he had left from the time period when he was a child still living in High Rock. He remembers going to the local forest with his dad, getting wood, coming back to his farm were his mum and sister were getting the diner ready for them while the fresh wood he and his dad just brought home was burning in the fireplace. I still remember the smell of the amber. He mentioned while smiling to himself. Later, he would sneak out of the house at around midnight to play with his friends in the field. Ahh... all gone... all of it is gone... He then rested his head on his left hand, covering his whole face with it in the process.

Edit OOC: Why is it so quite lately? Where is the DM?

OOC: RPs always seems end this way... Someone just wont post and the others are stuck in a situation where they cant continue... Should we just pretend iasc never posted and continue on from there? Ofcourse editing our posts where it is needed, including editing out any unnecessary posts and save them in case iasc comes back before we have posted too much?

OOC: There's still a normal conversation going on, as well as people having the option to, oh I don't know, go out the damned door? The only reason I can't continue is because I don't know what's behind the door, since Elite is reluctant to tell me.
