Badass!

I've been mostly doing fantasy art lately but I did try my hand at a portrait of http://i56.tinypic.com/6hu6tu.jpg

Awesome work and great details

Here is my most recent

That broken collar bone made me wince. I really hate those buggers in the game. Awesome job on this one though!

This is an experiment for me, putting all the color and shading on one layer. I've never done that before but I find it extremely challenging and fun to do. Still needs a ton of work but I'm very pleased with it so far. The program used is Painttool SAI. I still need to correct the shape of her left eye (right for us) but I'll do that tomorrow.

Ingame comparing for those interested:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/Karioudo/Screenshot20100719163607437.jpg?t=1288395473 made on my old PC, back when that was the lightest shade of hair color I could find at that time.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/Karioudo/Solona1_209.jpg?t=1288395474 With the right shade of hair color but I forgot to match her eyebrows. *dork* Starting a new playthrough with Solona Version.3 tomorrow and I swear she will have white eyebrows this time!

Since this thread is getting revived, might as well lurch to my feet and wander over here as the rotting, long-dead monstrosity I am. Damn NPC Priests and their low-levels, being able to only use animate dead spells! So yeah, Hi everyone! *wave*

Anyway, last I posted was Ultima, I see. So, here's some more recent ones:

http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2kaqcw, one of the characters in the humble bit of fiction I'm writing.

http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2l8n67, from the Venetica-game.

http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2nesby, Final Fantasy XII

http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2nsui3

http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2pene1

http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2q1e80

http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2qlz1h, from Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

And finally, http://elstormo.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d31swsb, my Final Fantasy blitzball team.

Wow, this thread sure went dead compared to the way it was when I was still here.

Anyway, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/Stormrider81/Art/Mokou1.jpg - I didn't use a model for this, so the perspective still needs some fixing (the head and waistline of the pants in particular). If anyone sees anything wrong with it, be sure to give a holler :)

Yes, I'm a Mokou really devoted fan. Sue me.

edit: Argh, i forgot that fan + boy is a dirty word here :P

No right to be rude even if he was :P
This is the ESF Artistry thread, not the Elite Professional Artists of gamesas Artistry Thread (-> no offense to Rhineville here :foodndrink: )

Anyway! Long time no see, nice to see your works again (I'm not around on dA anymore so I didn't see them there), I really liked Shemhazai, the colours work really well together. Great graphite ones too, liking the composition on Desperate Zoey. A little crit, I think the eyes on Cash 4 Nick are a little askew, the viewer's right one seems to be slanted a bit (bit near the nose slightly upwards) compared to the left?

@Exorince, love your photos, the one you pointed out as your favourite is my favourite too, though I also like the first treetops one (looking up from below). On the lamp one my first hunch was it might have been better to stand a bit further back, not sure why though :P Maybe to get a bit of ground space around the bottom of the lamppost. But I like the idea :goodjob:

Nice works all around and good to see people posting in here still :wavey:

Absolutely, but being as boorish as he is without even posting art is that much worse. It's always pathetic how people who never do anything with their lives find it necessary to rail at others who do, or at least in the process of doing so.

Anyway! Long time no see

And you. I was wondering where you'd gone, since I didn't see you on dA anymore, but seems now I know :)

Now that you mention it, yep, you're right. It's a bit slanted. Thanks for pointing that out :)

Looks great! I'd personally add some sharper details, but that's just because I'm neurotic :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/Stormrider81/Art/Mokou4.jpg's coming along nicely. It looks like kiddie colouring at the moment, but that's normal, it'll all look much better once I work with graphite on the whole thing.

Nice!

I could never do hatching or cross hatching correctly, I just stick to blending :P

My current WIP, im redoing M.C. Escher's "Reflection" lithograph, but in pencil and im replacing him with me. The pictures are very blurry and leave out a lot of detail, thanks to my phone. I'll try to charge my camera so I can take proper pictures.

thanks! most of it was already done by M.C.Escher so i just had to copy it correctly. But getting my body positioned right and then adding the same effect to it was a real pain. Ive been working on that for almost 2 months now.

Not really art, but i consider it an art.

Some of http://soundcloud.com/baustinwashere

The stuff at the bottom is really old and not so good.

The stuff at the top is okay, and newish. But still not so good.

Hey I'm learning. xD

Well, your blending's very impressive. I'm never able to get my pencil work so smooth, it always stays grainy, even with blenders.

Well, practicing more is always good, but you've certainly got the mood of this one right. Good facial expression.

And bonus points for the Remilia avatar. Although obviously, Mokou is the bestest.

I also produce dance music. I have to say I really liked 'Darkness'. It needs some filling out with percussion etc but it's got proper potential. Take out some of the filler and flesh out the melody and you're rockin' :)

Looking good, apart from the ears. Their positions relevant to each other don't match up.

It's really the only thing I excel at, I can't paint or use anything except pencil for the most part. All I use to blend is the small rolled paper cones and I just rub in a circular motion over were I shaded and it blends in pretty well. It also helps to have different types of pencils, I use a 0.7mm mechanical pencil, a 2H drawing pencil, a HB drawing pencil, and a 2B drawing pencil.

M-hm, I use pretty much the same thing, plus the smoothest paper I can get my hands on, and it *still* comes out all grainy :(
