Just finished another drawing. Been drawing like crazy for a while, and it's really paying off, so far (which isn't to say that I'm any good yet).

So, here it is:

http://sam-the-lucario.deviantart.com/ most of it is pokemon stuff.

I also wrote a poem* about the double thread here it is:

The Night the Mods Were Away
A tribute to our beloved mods

It was early in the day

When a young Lucario had an idea in his head

He would create a certain thread

About the innocence of childhood

To see the stupidity younglings believed

Then, the spammers entered the thread late one Saturday night

To find that to their delight the moderators were asleep

Antibody, with impersonation

Wooly, with his sleeping bear nation

Bullet, a mighty thread indeed

The Mods were away, fast asleep

Then a sudden disturbance in the thread

Came Dogsbody lightning fast

Lamington called “Dogsbody, everyone scatter”

Then came Dogsbody with a mighty roar

“TIME GENTLEMEN, PLEASE!”

I've been working on a drawing of Tali from Mass Effect (in her Mass Effect 2 armour). Since it's for training purposes, I haven't used any tracing, just a screenie of her looking right into the camera (a completely neutral pose).
I'm done with the basics, and I'm going to start the colouring now :dancing:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/zamul/taliwip.png

I think it has turned out really well so far. There's going to be an omni-tool on her left arm, too.
It's the first time I've ever drawn a female character, actually. There are some things that might need fixing (like her left leg, for example; it needs to be slightly further back to make the balance right).

EDIT: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/zamul/taliwip2.png. Needs some more detail to not look too cartoony, but I'll get there eventually :P

Thought I'd go ahead and post a poem I wrote not too long ago. *shrug*

A Vent

What I am is nothing short of a shadow of what I want to become
I see words upon the paper, but they mean nothing to me,
Nothing because they are nothing, words upon words of nothingness
And that's the way it will always be

Outside the chilly air grasps onto my throat with a tightening grip
I see the stars afar staring down at me, curiosity set in their eyes
A young duckling is sobbing nearby, lost and afraid, but I hear nothing
Over the howl of the wind and the sound of my cries

Shift scenes to a small room of an unknown home
It is bare, save for a tiny table and an even tinier book,
A book with a blank cover and the title The World That Never Was
But the name of the author is the real hook

For it is me! I am the author of this book!
But as I unfold the pages I come to find a common theme
That is the story of my entire life. Why? there are no pages in this book
I close the book? and in turn? I close another dream

As part of a school assignment we had to make our own typefaces out of random objects around us. I used silver foil to make letters, then we either had to make a movie poster or a trailer for a movie with the letters. A lot of people choose to stick with a poster design which is way more easy than a trailer but I realy wanted to make a trailer. So here's my first full animation EVERRR I made it in 3d max, sorry for the soundtrack I can sang but I cant make music myself so I ripped the sleepy hollow soundtrack :) It misses the finishing touches here and there and the ending is not what it's supposed to be but I ran out of time...:)

Was pretty bored this morning, decided to make http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/7756/ffxiiil.png. It's not really done, still needs a border around the "screenshot" and a little more text, but after looking at it I sorta lost my motivation to finish it.

Hi everybody, long time no see :)

Been busy with freelance, studies etc, haven't had time to post here as much as i want. This place was what actually got me started along my path of art so it's fun to come back and poke my head in from time to time :D

This is a chapter out of a book I'm writing, 'Memories'. You can read the whole thing by following my sig. The words obviously aren't all mine, I just put them together this way. :embarrass:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We stood at the back of the courtyard with all non essential personnel gathered for evening service. The 'Knight's Choir' stood with a dozen or so to one side, where I could see young Sarah Lyons standing. She gave me a curious look but said nothing. Lights dimmed in the setting sun of the citadels courtyard, and from the far doorway elder Lyons entered. Everyone stood. As he approached the center, the entire congregation started the service by saying in one mouth:

"O that we now had here
But one ten thousand of those men in England
That do no work to-day!"

In A-cappella, the choir softly started as a solemn, low voice that slowly swelled.

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are

Elder Lyons stood now at the center mike, reading glasses perched on his nose as he read from a worn book.

"What's he that wishes so?" He exclaimed.

and nothing else matters

"My cousin Westmoreland? No, my fair cousin;
If we are mark'd to die, we are enow
To do our brotherhood loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour."

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say

"God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires."

and nothing else matters

"But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!"

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view

"Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us."

and nothing else matters

"This day is call'd the feast of Crispian."

never cared for what they do

"He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,"

never cared for what they know

"Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian."

but I know?

Carl leaned over to me and whispered, "[censored], this is heavy." I nodded in agreement, my eyes closed.

"He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,"

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are

"And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'"

and nothing else matters

"Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-

never cared for what they do

"Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-

never cared for what they know

"Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red."

but I know

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say

At that moment elder Lyons dropped the worn book, losing the place. Hastily he tried finding the page. The page marker still laying on the floor. The choir in a holding pattern. Giving Carl a smile, I strode down the center isle towards the brotherhood elder, questioning glances from those to each side of the isle. An expression of undulated horror transfixed on Sarah's face as she shook her head frantically 'No!'. So this could get me shot.. sometimes you just gotta roll with it.

"This story shall the good man teach his son;" I stated loudly, to overreach the choir, "And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world," I stood in front of Elder Lyon, a look of shock quickly transforming into gratitude. The choir resumed the hymn.

Trust I seek and I find in you

"But we in it shall be remembered-" I continued, now turning to the rest of the assembled knights,

Every day for us, something new

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;" tears ran freely down my face

Open mind for a different view

"For he to-day that sheds his blood with me" I had my hands outstretched to them, "Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile.., This day shall gentle his condition;"

and nothing else matters

"And gentlemen in England now-a-bed"

never cared for what they say

"Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,"

never cared for games they play

"And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks"

never cared for what they do, never cared for what they know

"That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

and I know?

The brotherhood stood up, a silent ovation. I was glad for them that their service hadn't been disrupted, but it's wasn't them that I did it for. Looking to the back I saw Carl standing there, mouth open and jaw rolling over the ground.

'I ain't doing it for you either, butthead.' I thought. Nor was I doing it for the greater good.

All the while after leaving Franks place I had been quiet, not ignoring Carl ?much, but not talkitive either, more introspective. I was remembering everyone we'd lost along the way. And everyone we still were going to lose on the coming way. I did it for them.
The choir cut into their closing verse, letting it die out softly.

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

dedicated to all those lost along the way, and to those we still have to lose, may these words comfort you in your final moments. we love you.
hoo-rah.

Hey guys, been ages since I've been here :)

Nice M'aiq, tali was always my favorite (as well as most of the internet's favorite it seems ;))

She was my favourite too. #@%* Bioware for extending the Tali-romance-fanservice only to male Shepards.

This man knows what he's talking about. You need to study more human bodies, get to know how they work, how they move, before you can start doing poses on your own. Studies may seem dull and pointless, but they will help a lot in making a realistic-looking character.

I don't know which ones I've already posted here, so I'll just post the most recent ones:

I tried the "3D trick" a few days ago, but it kind of took the joy out of drawing (at least that time :P). But thanks for the tip, though I don't know if I'm going to be serious enough about this to actually be studying art.

On another note, I just finished my first doodle in a pretty long while:

http://samw-flo.deviantart.com/art/Wilson-and-his-Rifle-156630913

Just a character idea I had. Even though the drawing is far from great, I think it shows off the character pretty well.

Screw it, here's the first part of a Mass Effect fanfic I'm writing. Its from the perspective of one of Garrus' vigilante squad. In this part he's been taken captive by the Blue Suns.

Leon Kalin had always been a coward. It was cowardice that had sent him off Darise Nova in the first place. It was cowardice that had cost him Maline T'Vaeris, and now; his cowardice was going to cost Leon his life. He'd had a bag thrown over his head and been dragged away before now, but never so roughly. Then again, he'd never been dragged away by two Krogan before either, so this may just be their normally procedure. As Leon screwed up his eyes and swore in attempt to dull the searing pain behind his kneecaps, he came to the conclusion that it was all, his fault. He could blame a multitude of people of course. His Father, for being just as Asari obsessed as he was, Nagell, for accepting a 15 year old onto a dangerous expedition into the Terminus Systems, and Aria T'Loak for giving him the bloody job in the first place. If you really wanted to stretch it, you could even blame his mother for being, as his father always put it, 'bat[censored] insane'. But no, if Leon Kalin was going to die today, he would die without a chip on his shoulder.

He could hear people talking now, and even through the muffled sounds of the sack, he could tell that they were pissed off. He could hear their unhappily grumblings, and even fancied that someone had spat at him, and missed. As he heard the pneumatic hiss of a door opening, Leon was thrown roughly into a chair and his hands were forced roughly behind his back and tied. Leon hoped in vein, as he very well knew, that Maline T'Vaeris was the one that had captured him, and was going to 'alternatively bond' with him yet again. He then remembered that Maline was dead, and wouldn't have been competent enough to hire mercs in the first place, so this hope didn't carry out.

The bag was pulled from his head, and Leon was left blinking into a harsh light. He blinked, and found himself to be staring in the face of a batarian. Leon always thought batarians looked the same, but with this one, there was no doubt to which batarian he was. Tarak D'Oth, head of the Blue Suns mercenary group on Omega.
'[censored],' Leon mouthed. Tarak didn't reply, but instead smiled, showing rows of jagged teeth. He stood in silence for a few moments, before breaking out in peals of ugly laughter. Well, if I'm going to die here, at least I've made a batarian laugh first, Leon thought, but it didn't fill him with a sense of fulfillment. Tarak stopped laughing, and focused his four eyes straight into Leon's will a cold stare.
'You've pissed me off, Kalin,' said Tarak, still staring into Leon's eyes with an icy intensity. 'You should know by now, Kalin, you don't [censored] with the Blue Suns. That's the one rule of Omega.' Leon had always thought that you didn't [censored] with Aria, rather than the Blue Suns, but as he was the one being interrogated, he wasn't in a position to argue the point. 'We know you worked for Aria, so we can't pursue this any further, but you're not going to get any help, so we do... have you. And you are all we need all we need.' The batarian cracked his knuckles, a leering grin creping onto his face.
'You'll get Arthritis, doing that y'know.' Tarak's fist smashed into his Leon's jaw. His mouth welled up with blood, and he let out an odd mixture of a gurgling cough and a whelp. Tarak punched him the gut, and Leon bent over as much as possible with his hands tied behind his back, and spewed blood and teeth over the floor, gagging. Tarak grabbed Leon's head at the jaw, and twisted it so it looked straight into Tarak's face.
'You think you're in pain now, Kalin? You don't know half of it. They're quite a few people in this building that are just as pissed off with you as I am, and they're all queuing up behind that door just to wipe that smile off your face, and they're all hoping to be the one that takes it off permanently.'
'Uhh'
Tarak dropped Leon's jaw, grinned one last time, and turned towards the door and strode out, leaving Leon alone with his blood, his teeth and his cowardice.

Another WIP, for a http://community.livejournal.com/biowarefangirls/9929.html (which will probably never be completed, fan efforts being what they are, but I nabbed Tali just so nobody else would).

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/Stormrider81/Art/TaliP1.jpg's the 6 of Swords, representing 'earned success'. I'm going to put her shotgun in one hand and her omni-tool in the other, showing the success she's gained with them through hard work in overcoming the prejudices and hatred for her kind.

<3 Tali.

So I came back mainly because I did something yesterday somewhat ES related; http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/9397/woodelf.jpg.

Really great. You've been great as long as I've been seeing your stuff, but you're definitely improving as well.

Some recent things from me:

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f213/TiiR27/lips.jpg

I have to make a portfolio site for school, so I'm trying to crank out some non-school related stuff so I can have recent work in my porfolio. Speaking of which...

Also, check out the link to my art blog in my sig. Just started, plan on posting studies, WIPs, etc.

So I came back mainly because I did something yesterday somewhat ES related; http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/9397/woodelf.jpg.
One of those drawings where you start making a face and it turns into something more.

Very interesting piece, her baldness/shaven being unusual to me; any background to this? I like how you did the tears especially :)

I especially like this one out of your recent works, the colour pencils seem to be working out great for you

Long time no see both of you

@Jonas, your work has taken leaps and bounds too, very nice! :goodjob:

I haven't been doing all that much lately apart from studies and stuff, also attended a painting workshop.
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1027871&l=2805a1f6c4&id=1017443966 is a recent study from a photo,
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm270/Aiylah/IMG_0219.jpg is a recent random doodle/drawing,
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm270/Aiylah/IMG_0212.jpg is a painting and drawing study from the painting workshop,
and http://www.abload.de/img/img_0206gso0.jpg is a rather large painting mess I did, I started working from a photo ref (of a bridge and some trees) but it went wrong, I went mad at it and that was the result. I mostly used my fingers and hands. Never got around to finishing the top. Kinda looks like two people on the bridge now :P

Not sure why I'm posting these, but here I go anyways-

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/impossible1.jpg I scanned a sketch that I did years ago and coloured it picking the colours at random.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/random_3_10.jpg I just grabbed a piece of paper (which wasn't really intended for writing or drawing on) and took my pen to it, unfortunately I don't think that the scanner picked-up on some of the finer details.

One of these days I'm going to get back to drawing more, and more than just random bits.
