First of all, you can purchase the game and just install it as a standalone game. So please don't comment with, "i don't want to run ESO over Steam".
Why is the game on Uplay, which by the way is even less used than Origin, and not on Steam?

I really REALLY hate U play, and steam has an epic party chat system, so it really makes no sense what so ever to not have it over steam as well.....
It's all money reasons... just that simple.
So why isn't it on Steam? Since there will be alot more people that will buy it. And i can say that for sure. I tell you, there would be more sells than Uplay has members.^^
I wanted to play Trials and they made me join Uplay, I just can't go through this again Steam...
If it doesn't come for Steam, we will still have the standalone version. You don't have to run it over Uplay =)
Yeah, it's just been so long since I bought a physical version of a game. I buy the physical copies for my music but not my gaming, hmm time for change.
You can still buy the digital version. But i don't see any reason why it would come to Uplay and not Steam o.O
