ESO free weekend on Xbox One & a chance at $1 milli

Post » Mon Dec 14, 2015 10:36 am

Everybody who has Xbox One should really try it even just to get a chance at that $1 Million. Heck I'm biased against Sony and actually free bad that they don't get the same opportunity. There's nothing to loose and the base game is on discount if you do like it.

We actually have a dedicated http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1531636-unofficial-eso-thread/ if you'd like to talk about the contest. I personally signed up for it but i'm not active on ESO anymore. I find that I consume content way faster than it's being produced so I'm going to wait for a while.

nvm, i checked my e-mail and it contained a link to the entry form :P

EDIT: not even sure my current machine can handle the game (as my primary machine is down for the count), but im gonna try anyways

EDIT #2: were you supposed to get a confirmation e-mail after filling in the registry form? I filled it out, and it said my entry was registered, but I didn't get any confirmation

Wow, so the game is literally so bad that they're paying people to play? Yeah Zenimax, I think not. You can keep your DAoC2.

With PvP so messed up, this game certainly isn't DAoC2.

They need to sell 20k copies during the free weekend to break even. With the million dollar incentive, it shouldn't be a problem. It's just, uh, an unconventional marketing strategy. But if it works, why not?

Well, I could think of a few reasons why it's a bad idea, but I doubt Bethesda or ZOS care.

ehh, when you've been unemployed for nearly 2 years and your savings are starting to dry up, you'll take any chance to win some money you can get

I know where you're coming from, but please remember that wishing for fewer players is wishing for the game to die. They aren't going to keep it around as a single player title if it stops being profitable as an MMO.

Besides, group dungeons are fun. :)

The more the merrier - how can there ever be too many players? Haven't had time to play for the past few months, but do you mean to say the population has increased a lot since this summer?

Some of the most fun I had was shortly after launch, when various Cyrodiil campaigns were full of battles all over the map.

She prefers to play it like a single player game, hence "too many people." I've seen this a lot with people playing just for TES. Most come to appreciate some multiplayer aspect eventually, some don't.

Exactly. In my case, I'd like to play but the idea of seeing of those players running around, killing "my" bosses, making "my" quests advance, queueing at the quest givers or at quest items, ruins the pleasure completely. The only time I could play is in the middle of the night, where there are less players but I also need to sleep...

It's been pretty packed. :) Also keep getting alerts from the Cyrodiil campaign my character is in every few minutes. :P

yeah, from almost a year ago, have you played the game? it is an MMO, its pretty normal to get large content updates with new features rather regularly

A year ago? Last time I played, you couldn't kill a guard, they were invincible. Last time I played was about 10 days ago.

All the players I've seen trying to kill them ended up dead.
