Yeah the Fallout New Vegas thing. Man that svcked big time...
Time and time again I've seen "This game is fantastic and a sub-fee is cool for good content." or whatever for many MMOs...then those games fail despite all the people that praise them. Yes, it's only in beta, but this great game needs good polishing in many areas to stay great...to make people WANT to fork over $15 a month for maybe three years after release. It needs to be Elder Scrolls not just an MMO with, as the OP said, Elder Scroll-likeness sprinkled onto it. The whole beta I felt as though something was missing and I agree 100% on the quests. All we can do is hope this doesn't flop...for what MMOs offer such a good combat system in world with such great lore/story? So much potential and that's what'll make it fail if that potential isn't nurtured.
All those that are against the OP need to realize the truth in what is said despite it only being a beta and what lvl he got to.
Well you are the one who spoke about it opening up. Tell me, did you get to the level 25, 30 and 40 areas?
I thought so. No one did. These areas were closed, even to the media.
I like the game guys and I will buy it. Not sure why all the anger.
Speaking of public knowledge, it is known there is a longer term testing group beyond the weekend tests, that has continued access.
Again, not all betas are the same.
And are these people behind a secondary layered NDA lol?
Because I haven't seen any screenshots of other zones, and gameplay too.
Unless you are talking about the internal Zenimax testers..
Yep, even at lvl 15 you get to the main continent and can see how much the game opens up.
There are closed closed betas. Like the one for the press and others where you can level up above 15 and play as werewolf and vampire.
Nope. he's talking about a group that has been playing non stop for several months. Players that have characters well into the levels and maybe even level 50. They are the ones that owned all of the media testers. There's constant video footage being released. I'm sure one can see high level gameplay.
So there is a "sub-level" NDA in effect. Interesting.
Because I have to say, the public is going to want to see other higher level zones, etc really soon.
Oh... I read that as being lifted across the board.
EDIT :
Still, while newer PvP footage is released, I'm all but certain that they show high level players. The footage with the werewolf in the background was being discussed in a skill line thread.
It's really frustrating that "nay-sayers" aren't allowed to openly criticise what's been shown because "you don't know what's up ahead" but when "yay-sayers" assume it's gonna be great up ahead the same argument all of a sudden doesn't apply..
Bottom line is, we don't (most of us anyway) know what'll be like in the other zones or even end game. We only know what's been shown, and for all we know, it could be a gigantic black whole of no content what so ever after the starter zones or it could be the best frekking experience ever.
The OP seem to base his opinions of what's been shown, not what's up ahead, and that's (I'm sorry) the only way to judge the game atm.
Why aren't they allowed? Who is stopping them?
having an opinion of someones opinion isn't telling them they can't speak. Its goes both way you know. You are allowed to talk about the game and others are allowed to have an opinion on what you just said.
Don't take "not allowed" so literally.
Also Thora was talking about hypocrisy. See, anyone can have an opinion on my opinion, but if they rip my opinion based on me not knowing higher levels of the game, and not rip others for assuming what the higher levels of the game have, there is hypocrisy involved.
He is just calling out hypocrisy, not telling you that you can't have an opinion of his opinion. Got it?
