ESO EQ Shadow-Night Class type

Post » Sat Feb 22, 2014 1:43 am

Hello all I was wondering if anyone who played the ESO beta and also happens to be a old school EQ gamer like me has been able to create or see a class who fights like a shadow-night from everquest? A shadow-night was like a hybrid class of a necromancer and warrior. He had the melee abilities of a warrior or paladin but also had DOT's like a necromancer. I would love to eventually be able to create a class who can be a beast with the melee attacks and can also cast dots on people. I understand you can craft enchanted armor and weapons and you can add proc abilities to your weapons? maybe that way some melee class characters can get there hands on weapons that proc caster abilities like snares, root spells and dots along with aoe blast.

hmmm look into Dragonknight or maybe Nightblade??

DragonKnight is Melee and Magic so that might be more your style

and Nightblade is more like a rouge. but of course you can use magic if you want to.

you can actually customize to make what your looking for but i think dragonknight/nightblade would be a good start.

You can find DoTs in different skill-lines, like from Sorcerer (daedric curse, lightning splash), or from Mage-Guild (Entropy) or from Vampire Skills (Drain Essence, Bat Swarm) and so on.

Try to check esohead skill calculator => http://esohead.com/calculator/skills

Weapon skills are available for every class, so you can play every class with every weapon, no restriction. So your melee-combat preference can be played easily.

You can play every race for this game play, but if you are a min/maxer you can try to focus on races with benefits for magicka and stamina to support your playstyle even more, like Dunmer for instance, as their racials are quite useful for "battle mages" - or "melee spellcaster", up to you how to call it.

Perhaps - I don't know - something like a Vampire Dunmer Sorcerer with Mage Guild skills and dual wielding weapons will something for you. But that's your decision.
