Espionage In Vegas

OCC: as was I. and i will probably be back on later today.

ICC: Theo had run into a group of unlikely looking 'criminals' that were patrons of the bar, upon deciding to stay there for hours, he hadn't drank, just smoked and savored his cigars. Theo's heart was pumping when NCR Agents and Securetrons came in, He did not want to have anything to do with paper work and he did not want to be questioned by robots. as he sat down smoking his cigar one of the securetrons came up to him and questioned him right after they had arrested a few people.

"Sir, may i ask you a question or two?" the robot said, a lean facial expression on his face made his suspsicions of Theo,
"Well of course sir, it is not in my nature to turn down an officer in need of information." he said, his deep voice riddled with angst and peacefulness somewhat. "Have you seen any trouble-makers that caused that lil' ruckus in the room?" The robot kindly asked.
"To be honest sir, i have not but i've seen such a man like those you arrested, he is closer then you think, i believe he is in the other room where it had happened" Theo said to him, being a smart liar he was, he rose up and shook the hand or claw of the securetron. "You have a nice day sir." Theo said again.

Seeing a beautiful woman drinking a Nuka-cola, A tribal man and the same couple come out of the room, but since then he stood there for an hour or so staring at the blonde, the tribal, the couple. Knowing he missed his chance to get the part in the play, he decides to track down the woman.

He walked outside past the same couple that pulled an Uzi and a tranquilizer on him and looked them straight in the eyes and pushed the door open and walked out.

He say the woman talking to the power armored barbarian, he disliked the brotherhood but he made an attempt to confront the two. He looked at the blonde woman with a soft, deep voice and he said.

"Excuse me lil' lady... but maybe you can help me, I know it's seldom seeing a horse out in the waste... but maybe its dead or not... but the horse is a palamino... maybe you seen it?" he had said, bluntly and boldly. He stopped and stared at the brotherhood soldier with dislike.

At the bar Sarah sat an waited, when a man smoking a cigar appoached her

"Excuse me lil' lady... but maybe you can help me, I know it's seldom seeing a horse out in the waste... but maybe its dead or not... but the horse is a palamino... maybe you seen it?"

"Well now, i don't know anything about horses in the Wasted but maybe a Desert Orchid?" Sarah handed him a card detailing the The Odd One

"See you there later"

Not long after and Asian couple approached, Declaring themselves as Agent Winter and Summer

"You two?" Sarah quickly glanced at the Brotherhood guy

"Desert Orchid, go here i will meet you there later and chances are there is one or two people there you had a run in with earlier this is my team i want no issues, i dont wanna get there and see blood everywhere got it?" Sarah handed them a card detailing the The Odd One store

Turning back to the brotherhood member with a scowl on her face

"This operation wold have gone allot more smoothly had it not been for you and your big bad man attitude toward the robots, i guess its really you who doesn't know how to keep things quiet, there may be an alliance between the brotherhood and NCR but that doesn't mean it does any good. So unless by some mystical reason you where contacted by the general telling you to find me for this Op then leave me alone so i can finish my Op" Sarah swung on the stool to face the club again, taking in the music she relaxed a little a sipped some more cola.

"Tombs..."

Well, now he had a choice to make...

On the one hand, he could simply ignore this whole fiasco unraveling in front of him... which would be the very traditionally 'Brotherhood' way of doing things. It really wasn't any of his business. It sure as hell wasn't within the jurisdiction of his own assignment. And then, on the other hand, he did have a great deal to offer in the way of combat expertise.

Sure, he wasn't a 'special operative' or anything fancy.

He was, however, a damn fine sniper... third-best in his battalion... which could go a long way.

It didn't help that he knew their little operation here had been compromised. The man who had killed the Ranger in Primm had already relayed what information he had gleaned on ahead of him. Tombs had wasted good bullets chasing down that two-bit thug, too. What a damn shame.

Scowling, he gulped down the last of his water and snorted.

"Tombs. That is how you will address me. I can blow the feelers off a Radroach from sixteen hundred feet. You will find... that I am very hard to find. As of this moment, I am appointing myself as your Brotherhood of Steel Liaison. It will do you very little good to argue the point, so I suggest that you simply nod your head and listen closely. The NCR Ranger from whom I picked up this note..." and then, he offered the 'welcome to Dagger Squad' note to the woman without much concern for being coy about it, "... was gunned down just outside of Primm by two men dressed as members of the 42nd Regiment. They called him by name, shot him, and began writing down what I can only assume was a copy of this note. I attempted to detain them for the local authorities, but the one which was not writing spotted me and opened fire. I was forced to kill him. The second one ran. I pursued him some ways into the desert... but eventually he got far enough ahead I lost sight of him. During this time, he passed the note off to a courier traveling by motor-bike. The courier escaped as I came over the hill."

The words held no emotional tone or inflection, but it was obvious from the knight's face that he was annoyed by the situation. He had had the courier within an arm's length of him... and had been unable to prevent him from escaping.

"Your... "op"... has been compromised. I regret that I could do nothing to prevent this. It would be... grossly negligent of me to simply... turn my back and allow your people to walk into a trap. That is not the way the Brotherhood does things where I come from, even if the one you know does. So as I said, there is no use in further discussion. When you are prepared to depart, I shall accompany you. I will... act to ensure the safety of your team... as if they were my own. In return, I will require satisfactory repairs... and considerable amounts of ammunition."

Rising up to his heavily-armored feet, Benjamin Toomes leaned over the counter and placed an NCR Twenty-Dollar Bill into the tender's hand.

"I will be observing the entrance to this establishment for suspicious persons until you depart. Good evening, ma'am."

And then he was gone, off to find a suitable location to unpack his gun and set up a watch.

Theo recieving the card, presumed the beautiful young woman to be his squads leader, he mede quick assumption that he'll be 'Second-in-Command' upon arrival to the location. Theo thanked the beautiful woman, and spent his time in the club smoking his cigars. His mind at that moment was haunted by the young couple, Agent Summer and Winter. He had heard of them because they were young and efficient, Theo himself served the NCR longer then those two and 'Desert Orchid', he thought maybe during the operation he could teach the young'n a thing or two about being in the NCR, Theo had years of experience on his side, and his bad temper and physcotic mind to match, he thought of himself as better then General Halloway. Maybe it was over-confidence in himself, or he had delusions of granduer.

Theo soon after left the club after observing Summer and Winter, Desert Orchid and the brotherhood soldier, he made his way slowly to the Odd shop, buying some more cigars and a flask of whiskey, he sat outside in the alley of the shop where everyone is supposed to meet, and smoking his cigars and swiggin' his beverage.

William&Evelyn

"Come on Evie, we need to go."

William grabbed her hand and walked fast towards the alley way. The alley was dirty, the metal fence was corroded, and it seemed like Freeside before the whole NCR retake act. Even though the alley was small, Evelyn wanted to leave quickly. She clung to William and refused to let go. William smiled a bit and drummed on the corroded metal walls, "Damn it...where is everybody?"

Oh why did I join the NCR? I'm not fit for fighting... Evie thought to herself before William took out a stack of small badly colored pictures. Evelyn leaned forward and looked at it, "It's the picture of our first date.."

"It's all of my photos from our old life. I still hold on to it just to remember where I come from."

Night is drawing nigh in New Vegas, and the streets fill up with fortune-seekers and desperadoes, while the scum creep out of the gutters and mingle with the rest. The buzz from the street float up and reach Lucas' ears where he sits on a annex roof with his back to a ventilation exhaust fan. His binoculars lie in his lap, and from time to time he scans the streets beneath through them. He's positioned himself so that he has a good view of The Odd One and the building next door, as well as the alley right next to it, but the rest of his view is hidden by some rubble and a few cardboard boxes. On purpose, of course, as he chose this spot so he would be virtually impossible to notice from the streets, but could still see if anyone went into the store.

The flashbang man from the club had come there before him. Lucas could see most of him through his binoculars, and the smoke from his cigars. He's not giving up, is he? Strange... but he couldn't be an enemy agent - no way anyone's that bad at shadowing. That means he's one of ours and is waiting for the others to show up - just like me. Only difference is that I'm not sitting there broadcasting it to the world. I'll have to give these agents a Concealment 101 when we get to HQ... damn amateurs, he thinks, chewing extra hard on a potato crisp he just retrieved from one of his pockets.

Why is she taking so damn long, he wonders, tapping his foot impatiently. Am I restless because I'm itching for some action, or am I restless because this mission is driving me nuts? Hard to tell... Getting to HQ will cure it, I'm sure -- it's this suspense that's killing me.

Sarah sat and listened to the brotherhood member, one of the agents was killed in Primm. Sarah felt like she shouldn't turn down the help of the Brotherhood, but it would need to be cleared with the general of course. Sarah decided to leave, no one else would be coming. Sarah stepped outside into the night, the strip was buzzing she spotted the Brotherhood member

"Desert Orchid, But on a formal basis I'm Sarah, Sarah Noble and you or is it just Tombs? Walk and talk with me" Turning down the street Sarah led them to the Odd One

"So what is your skill set? what can you offer this team? i recall you saying how good a marksman you are you said the feelers of a radroach from sixteen hundred feet bet you i could do it at eighteen" Sarah smiled, a bit of friendly competition didn't hurt but she still felt she could actually do it regardless

"Of course i will need to clear this with the general but i cant see it being a problem"

Sarah walked through the door to the Odd One

"Just need the others and we are all good i can take us in to Fortress"

I don't believe it! Lucas scratches his head for a while. Here we've got the chain-smoking grenade-guy, the trigger-happy sweethearts, the Brotherhood panzer-man and our sweet leader Desert Orchid all in one place. I've gotta admit I didn't expect this. A second scan through his binoculars confirms it. That's the most unlikely gang of spies I've ever stumbled upon. Maybe it's time to go down and say hello.

A smooth drop later and he's on street level, thinking: General H must have a strange sense of humor if he called in all of these guys. I'd better watch out in case they haven't put aside their hostility yet. Their first encounter wasn't exactly what I'd call friendly. Almost like my first week in the military -- except it was a rubber ball grenade that time of course... and that unfortunate llama. May his soul rest in peace.

Stopping for a second to "tie his shoe," Lucas checks twice in both directions for any unwelcome third-party visitors, before he approaches the door to The Odd One. Now let's see what they want...

William&Evelyn

"Come on already!" Evelyn shouted after a couple minutes of waiting.

"I see you aren't as patient as you are annoying." William said with a smile gracing his face before looking up, "Uh Evie..."

She looked up to where William was looking at the man with binoculars. Evelyn shrunk back and William sighed, "Alright, they're probably one of those OTHER agents."

Evelyn pulled on Williams jacket, "Come on, let's meet them!"

"Sorry Evie, but it's better to move though."

Evelyn tucked herself under Williams arms as the two started walking towards a nearby building. While walking, William started to reflect on what had happened.

Dagger Team...well I haven't been in such a large scale assassination and espionage force since the Shock and Awe unit back home. Let's hope that Evie and I still remember our tag team strategy.

The two kept going and walked up a fire escape all the way to the roof. William took out a semi-large case which held a disassembled sniper rifle, modified to shoot a much more powerful bullet per shot. He assembled it and overlooked the alleyway, "Evie, if you see that guy with the binoculars coming our way, either tranquilize him or keep him dizzy with one of your more...potent formulas."

She nodded and William continued to overlook the alleyway with the silenced sniper rifle.

OOC: Eh, guys. What's up with the sudden arms race? Flashbang mines and sniper rifles? Adam, it doesn't say anywhere in your CS that you've got that kind of equipment -- and Zerker, your sniper rifle was listed under "battle" -- I don't know about you, but I'd consider this undercover - and a sniper isn't exactly something you hide in your pocket.... Well, I see that I might have set something off that I didn't intend when Lucas went and tried to "better his odds," but at least I made an explanation. I'd take it back if I could, now that I see where it led.

Well, you probably want to carry on anyway -- screw what sense it makes. Okay. I'll post after venix has.

OOC: Well the sniper rifle case is no bigger than an Alto Saxophone case. About the same size as a large briefcase.

Allow me to lurk, if anything. I have asked Venix about my CS being introduced at the Fortress..

A typical Alto Sax case would not even accomodate the barrel of an Intervention, which is 29 inches long (28 in the tactical version). With the stock collapsed you are looking at a near 47 inch length, a whole "barrel" of impracticality.

OOC: I've never actually seen an intervention and I based my measurements with a modified M14(M21). But in reality, the case wouldn't be so big that it couldn't be carried around. If anything, it would've been smaller than a baritone sax. I used to be a Tenor Sax player and the case is much longer than 28 inches...at least mine was.

"Tombs..."

Tombs paused the moment he heard that woman's voice.

Turning around to face her, the Knight offered a slightly bemused smirk... then was stoic once more. "Tombs. Knight Commander. Echo Squad. Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel. I have a... long history of service. My specialties are logistical planning, and long-rage enemy suppression. They had a name for me back at Alpha Bunker. Geist. As in Poltergeist. At first, I'm invisible. Then I show myself in a big way. Usually with a .50 cal to the sternum. Then I disappear again. I rather liked that name. Here, though... they call me Tombs. Because I'm quiet. Like a graveyard."

The brotherhood warrior made to resume walking, headed in the general direction which the NCR woman had gestured.

"You will find I do not like to mince words. It wastes valuable time. Opinions are not important. What is important is the mission... the mission must always take priority. When you let yourself get distracted from the mission... bad things happen."

He had learned that first hand, though it would take a far more persuasive individual than any he had ever met to get him to share the details. Suffice it to say, the cracked visor of his helmet was a constant reminder of that lesson. One which he chose to carry with him willingly, even out into the desert on his exodus to find the West Coast Brotherhood.

After a moment, he paused. Something was wrong. His voice, though audible, was lowered considerably.

"We are being followed. And not by the sniper positioned up on the roof-top. Someone else... approximately one hundred feet back. I caught a glimpse of him as we left the club. I just saw him again a moment ago, in the reflection of my visor in the puddle we passed. He is wearing an NCR uniform... but it is the same as the men who killed your Ranger in Primm. I believe he may be the recipient of the messenger I allowed to escape. He should not be allowed to discover where we are going."

OOC: For all intents and purposes, consider Lucas to be inside the shop. This does not conflict with any of our previous posts. I encourage the rest of you to follow so we can move on, get to the fortress and finally start this mission of ours. Let's not keep the people "at the fortress" waiting ;)

OCC: cleared my last IC post so im gonna post up a new one following this OC post.

ICC: Theo sitting alone in the alley by The Odd One shop, finishing off his Whiskey he see's 'Desert Orchid' accomponied by others, he drops his empty flask and puffs on his cigar, as soon as the glass broke he was behind the building, and found his way to behind the building, pulling out his device, he pushes the center button and a hologram of all his records, holo-tape recordings, maps, assignments and everything he stores on the device. He thoroughly looks until he finds the message from Gen. H. he re-listens to it and puts it away into his bag when it mentioned 'The Fortess'
Almost out of cigars, he takes a moment to himself, finishes off his cigar and flicks it into a small puddle of irradiated water dripping from an old water pipe.

Walking in the Odd One, he stops to look at the Brotherhood of Steel barbarian he dislikes, and Desert Orchid.

OCC: if anyone else is in the building, tell me and ill make an edit.

Sarah stood in the doorway and listened to Tombs

"well he has Already followed us here, I'll take care of it" Sarah slipped past Tombs and down a side street, the man wasn't hard to locate he was the only one wearing an NCR uniform. Slinking behind him she pulled her sig sauer from the back of her jeans and subtly pointed it at his back

"walk Into the alleway slowly or I slot you" the man casually walks into the alley

"how'd you figure me out it was the brotherhood [censored] wasn't it"

"shut up" Sarah blindfolded him and led him into the shop

"got him, we need to interrogate him" Sarah said to Tombs as she sat him down in a back room, leaving the blindfold on.

"Tombs what do you know about this guy? anything you know that can help us make him crack?" Sarah noticed one of the agents from the club she met

"Hey, I'm Sarah you? do you know anything about intterogation?"
