When should we expect the Online Stats section to be available?

Statistics Site

We’ve also seen a few questions about the Brink statistics website and what you should be doing with the VIP code that’s displayed in the game. When the Brink statistics site launches on www.BrinkTheGame.com, you’ll be able to register a profile on there and can then use the VIP code from inside the game to link your Xbox 360 gamertag/PSN ID/Steam ID to it. More details on all of that soon!

All we have is "soon".

I just want to see my character, XP with each class, and win/loss.

I think it would be nice to see the same character page I see when choosing my character.
I would like to see my character in their complete attire, the experience points, weapons and attachments, level and skills chosen.

I think it would be fun to see a pie chart that consisted of the percentage of time I was a specific class.
Maybe a list of how many times I played a level - how many times I completed an objective - maybe even how many times I succeeded in the mission.

More important than K/D would be stats like:

~ "average time alive" (the player's not spending the entire match re-spawning)
~ "objective points per minute" (the player contributes to the team dynamic/objective)
~ "points per minute" (player's total effectiveness)

These stats are pretty crucial and I would enjoy knowing them about my character.
Plus I could really see how many others are dedicated to objectives and sticking together for team work.

Also,

I would argue against "Matches Won" and "Matches Lost" being tracked/shown, as both stats are near-completely at the mercy of the rest of the team, and not an indication of the player's actual impact.

I can see the reason for this, but I think it would be a good option nonetheless.
The game relies heavily on a team, so it would seem unfair to judge a person's win/loss if they play against Hard Bots with faulty A.I. or get stuck in a match with thirty seconds left of a losing team, but that happens all the time with other games and it still would track that as well.

I try my hardest to play with friends who enjoy the game and getting objectives done. This might encourage more people to work together.
Of course, there will also be those people who will turn the game from friendly to absurd.
But one can't make everyone happy.

In a game that is COMPLETELY about winning and losing, it is crucial that these stats are shown.

Do you think it will have all recent stats included before the page got up, or just tracking from when its up?

This is a very important question I was thinking about as well. I can only assume that it will keep all character stats/skills from the saved game stats, and some of the other stats might have saved, but as for the points accumulated or win/loss ratio, I can only assume it will start tracking as the page comes online.

You're right, this game is completely about TEAM winning and losing. But what we're talking about is INDIVIDUAL player stats (page).

Again, a player can too easily be hobbled by bad teammates and/or AI, something they cannot control. A player's stats page should show only those stats to which they are completely (or at the very least, majorily) in control of.

When it comes to stats shown in Brink I think they should show...

1. Highest XP earned in a game

2. Number of Wins and losses you've had on each Side of Resistance or Security

3. Total number of accumulated Awards for each specific Awards category (Such as Best Medic, Best Overall, Best Soldier, etc..)

4. And your timed stats from the #3 challenges (on a global leaderboard?)

And leave out total accumulated XP, it wouldn't make sense having a bunch of 300,000xp's on the board lol.

Doesn't matter. People already know that the W/L will be skewered by the uncontrollable factors, but I still want to see mine and other peoples W/L ratio in a game heavily focused on winning > K/D. Although it won't be a totally accurate assessment of a persons skill/team play, it will give you an idea.

Ok, so I just saw the "Online Status" option and when I checked it out, it says to go to www.bringthegame.com and create a user profile. So I go there and look on every page and find nothing. Then I see the forums, so I got there and do some checking. Can't find anything, so I try to do a search. Can't do a search until I register. So I register. Then I check my email and validate my account. THEN I do a search and find out there is no stats site.

GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR BUTTS! I'm 38 years old with a wife and 3 kids, and I just wasted an hour of my play time on YOUR incompetence! If there is no stats site, TELL THE CUSTOMERS ON THE FRONT PAGE!

Is this whole thing a frikking joke?!?!

tracking total awards given would be nice. also i'd like to see the win lose records, and % of which maps are played most.

why is every1 banging the crap outta k/d and saying "its not what they wanted"
you never know, just because they said that doesnt mean they dont want it, we all know thats what the satat sight is for, and the award at the end of each match MOST KILLS and you get xp for kills? yeah sounds like it kinda was hinted so stop doggin people that want K/D

NOTE: if you had most kills in a match prolly least deaths cause the spawn time so eh its already there
NOTE BELOW NOTE: i love brink i really do, my favorite game, and i dont care about k/d but leave your over opinionated thoughts to yourselfs GD
NOTE BELOW NOTE BELOW NOTE: yes this is all really hipocracy

I know that there are a lot of people that are begging for stats, and I really don't know why.

If you get your stats, what does it actually prove? What is it actually telling you about your own gameplay that you probably already know or what you don't know?I'm engineer and operative most of the time.most of my kills come from the Gerund,Lobster,Carb-9 and Tampa.I probably get 10-15% of my XP from caltrop grenades on operative, and maybe a little lower with turrets.I win probably 50% of the time.

Will the inclusion of stats make you a better player?

If they never put up stats, will you stop playing the game?

I played a LOT of MAG,and that's a game with very intensive stat tracking, and all it does is make people very selfish players going for certain ribbons and medals, and is a game where matches can be won with 2-3 beasts on a platoon of 32 people. There's no way that Brink can be won with only one or two players on a team,so this isn't a game for "me first" game play.

I just don't understand the whole thing with people's compulsion to track their own stats,so if someone can help me see the light, let me know.

I am a statistics kind of guy - but not for selfish reasons. I feel like it gives me a competitive edge and is an added feature. I mostly compete against myself or against challenges. I like ribbons, awards, medals, and unlockables because it adds another reason for the re-playability of the game. Maybe I am also shallow and like to see real numbers to my accomplishments.
Some like it because they do show off their numbers to friends, but for the most part, it has become something expected.
I love playing Halo: Reach and can mindlessly play it for hours. But I get excited when I see I am close to an in-game challenge - even if no one else would ever see it.
My friends and I have already started to get bored of the same missions and same results (I am in no way saying other FPS Team Deathmatches are better at all, though - I get bored of these easily.)
Honestly, Brink is a decent game. And the reason I have not thought about turning it in for another game is because there is planned free DLC and the promise of something more.
If there is no stats page, there really is no reason for me to keep playing. I've already gotten two characters up to level 20 and did what I could with the game.
This could have been a rental for me.

If keeping track of your stats isn't your thing, then it's a feature you don't have to look into. Although I hope that it doesn't affect your gameplay for the worst when the page comes up.
