Ethics in Games

Also,in my opinion again,Left 4 Dead 2 has a spawining system that it just don't let u complain.Of course it's different kind of game but still,i think there are solutions, and more than 1,about spawning, some of them u already guys mention here.

For what is worth i'd like to say that is so rare to me to see ppl discussing a topic with the understanding that everyone can have different opinion, and i'll say it again: this i posted to the other forum,no replies yet and this game hasn't even released.Bright future ingame and in forums for a next gen FPS.

Now,can we have another week cut-off?Game release May 3?Huh?Yes,i'll agree with me :D

I agree with earlier posts that generally the more mature gamers make the gaming experience more enjoyable.

Not the guy who uses his microphone and stereo to test his DJ skills or the guy who is practicing some new words he learned on the school bus that day.

The anonymous nature of playing online has made people not really care about their actions or how it affects others.

Penny Arcade put it best with "Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Total D-wad."

I've learned all the words on the schoolbus... before I went on the schoolbus. Also I'm tired of people saying kids ruin the games. I'm 12 and never made anyone rage quit.

I am pretty sure most 12 year olds don't even know when they've made someone rage quit. (wish i had dodgy for this)

It's not kids, it's immaturity. If you're a kid and don't act immature nobody's going to care how old you are. If your 45 and act immature nobody's going to care how old you are. Don't do the things that make people wonder how old you are and nobody's going to care.

Oh believe me I've been fed up with gamers from ages four to forty (however a four year old learns to play Brink I don't know).
It's more of someone who doesn't grow up and learn to play with others. A skill they should have learned while they were children.
Not everyone who is below 18 or some specific age group makes them the epitome of what we should hate.
I hate the gamer who is an immature idiot who can't play with others over something as simple as a video game.

I'm 14 and the only time I've made someone rage quit was because I was better than them. Also it is about maturity not age, I've met a lot of people that were immature and older than me and I've met a real mature person that was younger than me.

This
age plays no part in maturity, there are younger gamers who conduct themselves maturely (such as urbanshadow) and there are advlts who act like kids. I don't care about how old someone is, I care about how they play the game

Agreed completely.I've met 12-14 yo kids and discuss with them in game, they were far more mature in thinking than many older guys i've met.

I wanted to say something that another guy mentioned earlier...we or at least i,play games to for enjoyment,i play to relax or us adrenaline rush (fast paced games),depends on genre of game.

I take seriously everything that messes up with my state of mind, meaning,i won't be offended if anyone will call me names or w/e,i know who i am,he won't tell me,i'll only feel bad about him that he felt the need to humiliate someone for him to feel somebody.Just lame.
I won't mind (anymore at least) if someone hacks,i find it also amazingly lame,i won't anolyse it,again.I'm bored of the obvious stupidity of it.
I won't be annoyed by the false "tactics" of players,it's all coming back at us in the end, everything has it's nemesis, one way or the other.

For what i am almost certain is that if i'll play any kind of game with a just and fair way of play, not only me but all players that participate in that game will enjoy it in a far more amusing way than any other. Thus the game will provide more enjoyment to me us to others also. That is what i think.

Just ask if he's mad. Either they will shutup, say no, or say yes. If they shutup you win, if they say no then just ask if he's sure because it really sounds like he is and it's pretty pathetic if he was, if they say yes say that they're pathetic for getting mad at someone over a video game. If those don't make them shutup then you're on your own, Idk anyone who's ever not shuttin up after they got called pathetic, but if they do continue it still proves the point about them being pathetic.

But if you don't want to say any of that, then just ignore them.

Most of them will claim to be trolling you at that point. Or say they are laughing/smiling/amused. When people are pissed, logic stops working, especially on the internet. Best thing to do is just say what you want to say and never respond to them again. I usually just tell them how i did it, and laugh at their ignorance of the game. That, or just say "stop talking, it makes you look stupid". Of course, when i say that, I'm the one being a troll

Exactly, if it get's to the point where they're making excuses (like they're trolling you) then you know you won.

And since u mention it,yes, sometimes we go crazy with hackers we think all are hacking.Guys from,Punkbuster was it or another?I don't remember sry, said that they were spectating guys marked with others suspicions and they weren't cheating, they were just good players.

I think it's also common sense that in this world, over 6 billion ppl,not all playing ofc haha, but these millions of ppl playing, well some of them just have it in them u know?

I am jealous of them in the good sense, even if i never be as good as them. And anyways for me at least it's not about only how good u are but how much u care and can contibute to your team and also to the community.

There shouldn't be a need for a code of honor, if there is a need for one then it means the devs messed up on something. If everything is done right, then abusive practices should not be possible (or not very successful or easy).
Like, if murder was impossible and no one could die, there would be no ethics that developed about killing people.

yeah but like real life, It's nearly impossible to account for every variable - so there should at least be some standard of behaviour that people at least try to maintain. I do understand where you're coming from though

Trollin' is an art form. They ones you've explained are either http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/chrislowton69/InternetToughGuy_2.jpg or http://boredportal.net/files/pictures/BoredPortal.com_Wtf-are-you-doing.jpg.
I know they might be frustrating, but its best to just ignore it.

Heres some good advice on good headsets for you guys:
1. Don't buy Triton. They break easily.
2. Don't buy wireless because they are super expensive and the connection gets faulty a lot (my friend has wireless and hates it.)
3. Steelseries and Turtle Beaches are they way to go.

I know I'm replying a post from a few pages ago, but I felt it was important to comment on this. I'm currently using the Turtle Beach X41's, which are wireless, and I rarely have any issues with the connection. They've got a 30 ft. radius, so I can literally walk around my entire house with little to no drop in sound, a feat made more impressive back the fact I live in a two story house.

Other than that, I agree with 1. and 3.

EDIT: Range -> Radius

You have a 30 ft square house? :spotted owl:

Nah just kidding - I'm in the same boat regarding the x41s though; I've never had any problems with them regarding connection or lag

The number one thing i did on mw2 was lose. not because me and my clan was bad. but yet because we had fun. i remember multiple times that we all got riot shields and walked as a group. or one time we just teabaged in the corner while they kill us. mostly in search and destroy. anyway my clan knew we could win but that would take the fun out of it. and people that just kill because they can do it because they have the power to.
