How much damage does a direct hit from the beam actually do? i checked the wiki and it just said the gun did zero damage....

The damage yield is relatively low for gameplay reasons. The weapon's more useful for crowds of foes like Legionarre Recruits than say, a single BoS Paladin.

Which is considerably irritating, a Big Friggin Laser Beam from a Orbiting Weapon should Vaporize even a being in power armor, easily

He'll survive, most any full grown deathclaw will survive a hit from it. The weapon svcks end of story.

Yes, the weapon is over-hyped considerably. Its only really good in a few select situations.

My thoughts exactly.

It should be immensely powerful, but perhaps have a longer delay on the amount of time it takes to recharge.

Personally I think it should use a considerable amount of MFC's rather than time to reload. You can always wait, it's more of an obstacle than a means of control. But if the gun used, say, 100 microfusion cells you could fire it several times but at the expense of all your MFCs.

Makes no sense of course but what does.
