My Eurogamer experience

That 2nd playthrough sounds awesome and the worship of Talos being forbidden makes perfect sense. The current emperor must be evil or hates the divines.

I'm curious as well

I've had an Imperial Legion character in the works for quite some time now. He serves the Empire, not out of allegiance to Mede, but to Talos. Him and his family believe that Talos would want the Empire to continue...and that one day Talos would return to set things right.

This news of the worship of Talos being illegal makes this RP character that much more interesting. :celebration: As he will often travel in secrecy to the shrine of Talos.

They came to power in the absence of the Septims. So they want to disbelief the Septims, and started this by banning the worship of the "first" Septim. Talos.

They usurped the power from the Elder Council.

Really? The Elder Council no longer exists? Did you read this in a novel or something?

So that's that. Rain does fall through objects. Very disappointing. What the [censored] Bethesda? Why the hell hasn't this been fixed during the last 10 years? Almost all other games have done it and even a mod for Morrowind. Very disappointing.

Also, I truly hope that they haven't gotten rid off the raspy Dunmer voice. The raspy Dunmer voice was originally in Oblivion as well and was heard in the Oblivion demo, but was later removed. I would be so PISSED if the raspy Dunmer voice was removed again :(
I hope it's just voice diversity.

Very nice to hear of an underwater cave :D
I also loved the bard/tavern part. Sounds REALLY good!

Thanks a lot OP :foodndrink:

But that's the thing. Gamersyde.com had 1280x720 videos online and it looked awesome....also i haven't seen a single preview saying these things about the graphics. It has me slightly worried now to be honest.

Ok. So you've seen videos with your very own eyes, and read multiple previews from journalists who played a more recent build from August at PAX, but you're worried over one playthrough from a June build?

Ooooh wait...hold on.

This is an older build? I wasn't aware of that...honestly i was just skimming through it alittle, because i really don't want to spoil too much for myself anymore. Why are they showcasing a june build when they have newer ones?.....i don't get that.

The game looked and felt bigger, I felt lost like I did when I first played Morrowind!, also to anyone in the UK the 5th anniversary of Oblivion, do not waste your money! I got mine today and it's not even in a metal tin case!! its the exact same as the original games case except it's pale white. You can also pre-order Skyrim from HMV and get 5 pounds off, I'm not sure if this is exclusive to people at eurogamer. The staff were great, really friendly, they asked my opinion on the game and after I said it's much better than Oblivion they also wanted to hear what my criticisms on that game was, and they agreed with me. Also my criticisms at the beginning, if you know me then you know I'm one the few optimistic people of Skyrim who has praised every aspect of it, so this is the first time I've been negative about the game.

I tried to be as unbiased as possible and it pained me to admit all those things but it's what I saw.

I agree about the voices but the rain isn't a glitch. It's merely a screen texture to give the illusion it's raining.

Bethesda employees haven't even seen the PC version?

That makes me suspicious that Microsoft wants the PC version kept to Todd's eyes only...

Good job, have http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36077861/Legendary%20Wins%20call%20for%20a%20Fishystick.jpg. So much info...

It really seems like they put in a lot of effort into the AI (I expect the guards running away on heal thing is fixed by now).

And I really like:
18: The last perk for destruction was to use all destructive spells at half the magicka cost

If there workin the station at eurogamer then that prolly isnt there dpt. Bethesda game studios is 100+ strong
So it wouldnt surprise me that not everyone there knows everything about the game....

Very important question. Did you feel nudged in any one direction? Did you feel the world was linear at all? Also, what criticisms did you tell the staff? Anything besides the graphical glitches?

New vegas was made by obsidian not bethesda
:slap:

I know that. And bethesda wouldn't have been oblivious to it's flaws either. It still had their name on it.

I love bethesda, they have made my favorite games. I know bugs are part and parcel of games ,especially open world....But i don't want a long list of them,or ones that really stand out. And i certainly don't want patch after patch after patch. And while waiting for those patches be expected to pay for DLC,which also had bugs. I have standards,i don't walk around with "MUG" tattooed on my head. I got a little angry with what i read. I believe we won't have as many bugs etc,and believe it will be more polished than previous games. But after new vegas, bugs and proper testing are still in the back of my mind.

This is the first time i've said anything negative about the game,it looks fantastic.

I read from someones who already read the Novel post.

I would say that it still exists, but with more limited power in the new lineage.

Yeah. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjbx6-KQoRg&feature=player_detailpage

I'm going into this game with minimal expectations, period. It's the only way I'll be able to enjoy the game and not be disappointed.

Oh, and Vix, you mentioned that the swimming animations were bad? How bad were they, on a scale of 1 to 10 (the higher the number, the worse the anim)?

I'm loving how the NPC's have proper little conversations with each other. No more 'I saw a mudcrab the other day...' . How was the voice acting?

by chance did you feel like skyrim was simply "oblivion2.0" or did it actually feel like awhole different game altogether?

When you sheathed your weapon and were offered a choice for arrest from the guards, did the game lock you in place like Oblivion, or once sheathing you weapon, could you still have made a run for it?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Son of a [censored]! I was happy about regenerating health, but I didn't want it to be fast! :swear:

He was on novice setting, I'm sure it isn't as noticeable on harder difficulties.
