European Cover Story

Post » Wed Feb 23, 2011 3:55 pm

So I just looked in my mailbox and there was my new magazine the Power Unlimited and to my great surprise it has a Skyrim coverstory! Is this the first one after GI?

I read through it very quickly and there is no new info afaik, but we'll see. Btw, the PU is Dutch.

Here's what I found in translation of that link which is TES related:

"PU 2 practically pops out of his paper with the fifth Elder Scrolls on the cover and inside the leaf is considerably ahead to the games coming out this young year. January dusted his crystal ball again and the other editors what they want to see in 2011.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim grabs the cover this month and according to Steven, this is deserved. The sequel filled with dragons in Oblivion introduces a low-fantasy setting with really brutal moves and the return of the Dark Brotherhood."

Not much, but there you go.

"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim graps the cover this month and according to Steven it is well-deserved. This dragon-filled sequel to Oblivion introduces a low-fantasy setting with unreal brutal moves and the return of the darkbrotherhood."

The only new thing it says is that the Dark Brotherhood will return, which is pretty sweet though.

Edit: Got ninja'd :(

Ha, you just see what you wanna see huh. :hubbahubba: That spandex bit was in reference to DC Universe online. Only the first two paragraphs are about Skyrim.

What language is it in so we can translate?

Dutch.

It says something like 'The dragon filled sequel to Oblivion introduces a low-fantasy setting with incredibily wicked moves and sees the return of the Dark Brotherhood.'

The rest of the blurb is just the usual PR stuff.

It's in Dutch, but the main article is not online, only a brief description.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim grabs the cover this month and according to Steven, this is deserved. The sequel filled with dragons in Oblivion introduces a low-fantasy setting with really brutal moves and the return of the Dark Brotherhood.

Can anyone who received the magazine comment on the description of the Dark Brotherhood?

This short sentence seems to confirm that the tone will be slightly darker and perhaps more gritty/realistic, with some gore.

"Low Fantasy" - so the opposite of cartoonish J-RPG-style high fantasy?

Not just "Brutal Moves," but "Really Brutal Moves"

Sounds like great news!

EDIT: ninja'd

As far as I can tell, it seems that they haven't posted the complete article online. Maybe GI has online exclusivity for a limited period, or maybe Power Unlimited just doesn't post the articles while the issue is still on newsstands.
