EVE - FWE master release.esp doesen't work for me...

Please help! I've been traying to get my game working with mods all day...

Whenever I enable "EVE - FWE master release.esp" (from FOIP) the game menu doesen't show up so I can't play! I mean, it doesen't crash or anything, but no menu... it gets stuck there!

I tryed disabling everything but EVE - FWE master release.esp and it's masters and still didn't work, my load order is good I know that (BOSS...) don't know what the hell happends...

I also tryed disabling EVE - FWE master release.esp and enabling all my other puglins (+100, mostly compatibility patches for DLC and all that I don't use that many mods) and it worked perfectly... it's weird, I'm about to start without this .esp ... or do a patch my self fixing the weapon stats (I guess it's mostly that...)

I looked for older versions of the patch but they've already been deleted D:

I tryed masterupdating but here's my second problem, it doesen't work! I downloaded the latest FO3EDIT, installed it in the game folder, copied "FO3EDIT.exe" and changed the name to "FO3MasterUpdate.exe" but when I execute it it starts F3View or something, and I don't know how to masterupdate from there...

I've heard of the problem with the menu not showing up before... unfortunately I have no specific troubleshooting info for it. Do you have the EVE .97 "newest updates" and the FWE 6.03 hotfix (from the respective Nexus pages)? Is FOSE installed properly?

Are you able to launch FO3Edit and make a merged patch? If you can then Masterupdate should work...

Go over the readmes slowly and doublecheck that you've done things right. Sorry I can't be of more help. :blush:

Here's my load order in case it helps. Only thing I'm unsure of is whether Mart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.esp should not be installed along side FWE, in order to allow the FWE menu to detect MMM... but the game is working well- now LVL 19 with this order.

I do have the latest FWE and EVE, Fose is installed well probably... I've tryed launching the game without fose and only EVE - FWE master release.esp and it's masters and same thing happends.

I've been using bashed patch instead of merged patch, is that okay? I mean, from wrye flash as I was used to that system back from oblivion.

Here's my load order... I removed EVE - FWE master release.esp and I've been playing for a while, no problem atm but I haven't seen any energy weapon yet so I don't know hahaha

By the way some of my puglins are merged in the bashed patch so you don't see them here

And... there is the masterupdate thing too, it's not that it doesen't work, it's that I don't know how to start it... as I said, when I create the FO3masterupdate.exe it doesen't actually do the masterupdate, instead it opens "FO3View" and I don't know what to do from there, or if that's normal. Otherwise FO3EDIT works fine (I can clean mods and do merged patch althought I don't use it as I said)

It would be amazing if it was no longer needed but I found nothing in the FWE thread, in the main post it's in the load order they suggest... who told you that? I read your post where you tell them the same problem but no one answered you (?)

Maybe energy weapons will be unbalanced without the patch, or at least the new ones added by eve... I wouldn't be so sure it's not needed anymore...

When I click on FO3MasterUpdate.exe- located in the same folder, the main FO3 directory with \Data and Fallout3.exe, as FO3Edit.exe- a single window pops up and the master update process automatically occurs. Takes less than a minute and the last lines indicate completion.

Perhaps the issue with the menu occurs because you are using FWE's Followers Enhanced but not EVE - FWE Master Release (Follower Enhanced).esp in addition to EVE - FWE Master Release.esp. <---- I say this because I see FO3 Wanderers Edition - Followers Enhanced (BrokenSteel).esp in your list. Look at my mod list.

@gothemasticator: Are you sure about that? I've been using EVE - FWE Master Release.esp and EVE - FWE Master Release (Follower Enhanced).esp for almost 100 hrs with this character... AFAIK the first is needed and the second does not replace the first when using Follower Enhanced (both are needed).

Edit: I haven't used WryeBash/Flash with FO3,,, FO3Edit's merged patch + MasterUpdate has produced good results for me. Wouldn't think of adding mods to OB without WryeBash though...

I have EVE - FWE Master Release (Follower Enhanced).esp but merged into the bashed patch, anyway I tryed as I said before launching the game with only EVE - FWE Master Release.esp and it's masters and STILL DIDN'T WORK

And well, I don't know wtf is going on with the masterupdate, it has to be windows 7 or something, I just bought a new computer with windows 7, 5 days ago...

Masterupdate isn't working because you're running a very old version of FO3Edit. Grab the 3.0.15 version from http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=637.

I found out why it wasn't running, that was simply because in windows 7 you don't need to specify the extension of a file, so I had to write "FO3MasterUpdate" only and not "FO3MasterUpdate.exe", which would have been like "FO3MasterUpdate.exe.exe" actually... anyway, now I can run it, haven't been around here today now I'm going to try running the masterupdate and see if the friggin' EVE compativility patch works this way xD

EDIT: After doing a succesfull masterupdate it still didn't work, the menu doesen't show up... I'm going to report this in the official FWE thread and see if someone answers me there because I'm afraid of playing without the patch!

the FWE-EVE patch is outdated. the latest on is FWE 6.01 + EVE .96. FWE 6.03 will work with EVE .96 and that patch though.

That's the FOIP file I'm using as well... with FWE 6.03 and EVE .97. Haven't encountered any problems. :shrug:

I saw someone complaining about menu issues somewhere... can't recall where though! Maybe in the Nexus comments for one of the mods in question... maybe try asking there as this forum has been missing input from some mod creators lately. :sad:

All right, I found out what the heck was going on!!

It's simple, there isn't yet a patch that covers EVE 0.97 with FWE, the LATEST PATCH in the FOIP page is for EVE 0.96!! So yeah, EVE 97 and FWE are not compatible... I downloaded EVE 96 + it's update and guess what? Menu showed up!

Earthling are you sure you're using eve 97? If it works for you maybe you should reconsider changing it for the older version because http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1027321-relz-fallout-interoperability-program-number-2/page__st__120 it's not compatible...

I am sure: http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/4792/fomm.jpg I added the "-updated" to the EVE_097_Beta_main myself after directly applying the updated meshes/esp to the folder I made the FOMOD with.

When I reinstalled FO3 (in ~ late November '10) I re-downloaded everything. At the time I did notice the discrepancy between the new EVE version and the FOIP patches, but I saw a comment somewhere- probably on the Nexus- that it would work, and it has! There is only one small issue I've noticed that may be a result of using this combo: certain Pulse weapons have a muted sound, but this may be caused by something else... I'm using Small Guns and Energy Weapons as well and have applied modkits to several energy weapons with expected results... just finished Zeta too and almost lvl 20. We'll see if any other oddities show up... haven't released the Enclave yet.

Using Win7 64.

Eve 0.97 works with a Merged Patch and Master update...

rename FO3Edit

FO3MasterUpdate

don't type in .exe....


but with 0.97 expect it crash a lot as you progress... it's fine early on as lack of energy weapons will have less issues... but I have had my game turn unplayable once enclave show up and energy weapons are norm...

also I crashed alot when I had Brisa and Lucy west (mods) with me... they both used in my game... Energy Weapons...

I'm sure it'll work but since I restarted and used 0.96 I was able to continue from where I left off with little crashes...

There is an unofficial update that completed by poopoopapa and he asked the FWE team for approval to upload (they have not responded and probably abandoned this for a while) - I currently use it as I want the the features of the most up to date eve 97 has to offer. Poopoopapa made it available until officially updated - you can read it in the most recent comments on nexus and I copied it below - load the official foip 96 first and then poopoopap's 97 update overtop of it:

Ok, so peekaboom never got back to me, I've been busy too but wev. Here are the relevant FOIP files for EVE .97/FWE/WMK . The only issue is that shredder grenades will show up as an option with the outcast quest reward turn ins, but they won't give you anything, nor will they take any points away. Otherwise it's gravy, all the crit kills work, all the wmk weapons work with those crit kills and eve data sets.

Instructions:

Pick the FOIP patch files that fit your current installation, example: FWE+EVE use the FWE+EVE FOIPs without the WMK etc..
Don't install the other FOIPs before or after this, uninstall them, then install these.

Why do you say "load the official foip 96 first and then poopoopap's 97 update overtop of it"? poopoopap's comments seem to suggest replacing the old FOIPs with these... or did I miss something else?

I notice that all the new files, except EVE - FWE Master Release (Follower Enhanced), are smaller than the old. I'll compare them with FO3Edit when installing.

I think we are saying the same thing - I think the 96 FOIP has some meshes/textures needed so if I remember correctly load the FOIP for 96 first and then overwrite with poopoopapas update to bring it in line with 97. I think that's how I did it and its working so far...

I'm happy to say that the updated FOIPs that Chakka linked to are working well... and I now have sound for the pulse weapons!

I compared the 96 and new 97 FOIPs with FO3Edit and nothing stood out so I simply replaced 96 with 97... I use all 3 for FollowersEnhanced and WMK.

Tested a bunch of weapons, kitted and not... so far so good.
