Even more factions?

That would be fun if there was the FG, MG, TG, Dark Brotherhood, and all the other ones from Oblivion PLUS a new one or two.

I'd prefer quite a few more than that

In case you haven't noticed, every Elder Scrolls game has introduced new factions the player can join. I fully expect Skyrim to do the same.

Maybe there will be different houses as there were in Morrowind. With the teaser mentioning a civil war of sorts, perhaps we will have to find a way to unite different factions. I do hope that joining one group makes it near impossible to join others.

The amount of factions in Oblivion was fine, IMO, especially considering the smaller ones. I just hope there are most faction associated quests, and more real choices to accompany said quests.

They need to have opposing factions again, so that one can't join all factions in one playthrough. Adds lots of replayability and it's way cool! :D

Well they kinda took a step backwards in terms of factions with Oblivion, as in Morrowind you had the houses, the Morag Tong, the Imperial Cult & Legion, etc.
I'd like to see a couple of new factions, plus the Imperial Legion or Morag Tong or something back in.

One thing I hate is when people claim that there were actually heaps of factions in Oblivion, as they consider the Blades and similar groups as factions.
I mean, I suppose they are, but to me a faction is basically a group you can join that has a storyline or series of quests to do.

TES2 had 34 factions. TES3 had 14 or so? You're saying there's going to be nearly 40 factions! That's AWESOME!

Oh, that's not what you're saying.

I'd like to see an increase on the number of factions in Oblivion. And better faction quests too. The Oblivion mages guild was so poor, it doesn't even deserve a capitalised name.

Maybe there will be different houses as there were in Morrowind. With the teaser mentioning a civil war of sorts, perhaps we will have to find a way to unite different factions. I do hope that joining one group makes it near impossible to join others.

I'd love that sort of political intrigue.

I agree with racial factions, nords were invading morrowind in Oblivion and it is a direct sequel apparantly so it would be interesting to see some sort of tension between nord and dunmer, if they're not openly hostile.

As for factions!

- fighters guild
-mages guild
-thieves guild
-dark brotherhood
-arena style one
-glen moril coven
-were creature faction

I think Oblivion had too few of them.

I would love to see some kind of pacifist Nine Divines faction, help to cure diseases, get donations or whatever and not just slay monsters all the time.

And stuff that include more politics and corruption. I want some nice plot twists!

Yeah, that was a very nice touch in Morrowind.

I hope it's more like in Morrowind and before that. That you can't join every faction in one playthrough.

Also, I think it's stupid that you can become head of almost every faction you join, a decrease in the numbers of that please
Oh, or maybe only allow the player to become the head of one faction in one playthrough, yet allow the player to become head of every faction overall. Oh the replayability. :teehee:

Something really cool (albeit completely unrealistic) would be race specific factions.

Why would that be unrealistic? Considering the implied Civil war thing it seems likely.

I think Infernal City mentioned that Mages Guild no longer exists (and some two other magic factions with non-generic names have emerged from it). Other guilds might have followed the same faith.

In other words, I don't think we can know which faction will be there and which not. If Skyrim happens after The Infernal City, then some of old factions we know ever since Arena and Daggerfall no longer exist.
We only know we will get at least one faction for Mage, Fighter, Thief and Assassin.

If this is the case then who knows what factions will be in it. Just think of all the possibilties, we could have mages guild fight against each other and the same with the fighters guild. This could be good...

Aye, and there'd better be more factions than those few guilds in Oblivion, especially considering that the Dark Brotherhood was the only interesting faction in the game. I hope Skyrim will match, or even outdo Morrowind in variation. Would be great if some of the factions would be hostile to each other again, attacking the Hlaalu and Redoran strongholds was so much fun.
