Ever thought about roleplaying a character from another vide

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:50 am

This is an idea that popped into my head recently, I was thinking it would be cool to try and make a character from another video game and roleplay as them in Fallout 3. For me my idea was to roleplay as my favorite character from Resident Evil 5: http://tu-fui-ego-eris.webs.com/photos/Excella-Gionne-Gallery/ExcellaRender1-2.jpg

Excella was one of the villains, the CEO of a pharmaceutical company known as Tricell. Excella was blessed with a keen intellect and model-like beauty but being raised in an aristocratic family has led her to be haughty towards men. Her company sells medicine and perscription drugs to the public, but secretly they conducted illegal experiments on humans and animals to create monsters known as bioweapons to sell to the black market.

Anyways my idea for making her a playable character in Fallout 3 was to try and copy the real Excella's face on my character as much as possible. Make her wear The Sophisticate hairstyle (because it's the closest to her beehive hairstyle in Resident Evil 5), and for her SPECIAL I was thinking about making her weak in Strength and Endurance (she's obviously not a body-builder), raise her Intelligence, Perception, and Charisma very high (she's very smart and a rich high society lady), keep her Agility kind of medium (as a playable charaacter in The Mercenaries Reunion she's shown to be a fast runner despite wearing heels and she can use guns), and for her Luck I guess raise it kind of high but not too high (she was born with a privilaged upbringing so obviously she has luck on her side). Her Tag Skills will be Barter (because she's a successful business woman), Medicine (she works for a pharmaceutical company), and Small Guns (she doesn't look it, but in The Mercenaries Reunion she's actually very good with guns). After she gets out the Vault I will make her move into Tenpenny Tower because she's a rich evil character and it will fit her perfectly. She will wear clean pre-war dresses everywhere she goes and every reply she makes to people will be rude and arrogant-sounding. I was thinking she could start her own business by collecting things to sell for bottle caps, and she could help out at Canterbury Commons and donate money to organize the trade so she can run her own corporate empire out in the Wasteland. Also since she was an evil character who experimented with viruses, I will let her side with the Enclave for reasons I don't want to say because it will spoil the game.

Also since Excella ran a pharmaceutical company that produced medicine and drugs, in her home she will use the My First Labratory a lot to make chems to either sell or use. I also can't decide what theme to get for her house: Pre-War would look very pretty and high class which would suit her socialite lifestyle, however Science would fit in with her cold and intellectual personality as she worked in a lab in Resident Evil 5 where a lot of the game took place.

What do you guys think of my idea? Also do you guys have any thoughts like mine of roleplaying a video game character yourself? :)

Tenpenny will have to be *ahem* removed. There's only room for one boss at the tower ;) I would probably use the Science theme and place stimpaks and clipboards on the furniture.

I'd like to try playing Claude from GTA III. He'd run around in a Tunnel Snakes outfit beating up random passerby and flipping people off :P

Wow, I've been playing Resident Evil 5 a lot lately, and am almost at the end. I would have suggested the lovely Sheva Alomar but you kinda beat me to it. :)

I've never played it, but I can imagine being the hooded guy from Assassin's Creed could be fun. High sneak and melee weapons, there are some perks tailor made for this.

The main character I wanted to play was one from Fallout 3 itself - namely kill Roy Phillips and take his place. Wear the ghoul mask permanently, get some leather armour, a Chinese assault rifle and wreak havoc against humans. :)

Nah I don't think I want to remove Allistar Tenpenny, or anybody in the tower. In fact I could make Tenpenny her business partner. Since he's really rich she could use her charms to seduce and flatter him into giving her money to support her viral weapon research and start her own small pharmaceutical company out in the Wasteland. Tenpenny will make her his right-hand woman and work alongside Mister Burke to help the tower achieve perfection (at least that's what I'll be roleplaying :P ).

Oh and of course she has the Black Widow perk, because Excella is quite the seductress. ;) Basically all her perks are going to be Charm and Science related, and maybe a few gun ones for flavor. She's also going to hire Charon as her bodyguard and I'm going to pretend that he's a zombie she created from her experiments to be an absolutely loyal killing machine (in the game she used the zombified monsters her company created to try and kill the main heroes).

I finally made the character as good as I can and exited the Vault (after having to redo her face 500 times). I got her face shape, mouth, chin, and nose pretty well. The eyebrows I couldn't make look exactly like Excella's because she has those flat devil-wing eyebrows that stretch out and I don't think you can really do them when creating a character in Fallout 3. I darkened her eyesockets and increased her eyeliner to make it look like she wears mascara, and Excella is supposed to wear flesh-toned glossy lipstick but I wanted to see her with shiny red lips instead. Also I chose the "Chocolate" color for her hair because Excella's hair is a very dark brown but not quite black. Right now I have her in a pink pre-war dress but I think once I find one of those beige business suits I will make her wear that, and maybe even a pair of sunglasses when she goes out into the sun. :)

Oh and winawer, Sheva is cool, but I perfer evil b****y chicks. :P

I know this is a double post and I apologize, but here's a picture I took of my Excella character in Fallout 3.

http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/7554/excellafallout3.jpg

I think I did a pretty good job except for the eyebrows which I couldn't get the same shape as Excella's, and the nose should be wider but it's the same length and shape. In Resident Evil 5 Excella has flesh-tone lipstick, but I wanted her to have red lipstick in my game. Also she's wearing the sixy Sleepwear because it was the first pre-war dress I found, but now I have her in the Dirty Businesswear which looks the closest to her dress in Resident Evil 5.

That looks good :)
Eyebrows are hard to do but those look pretty close. She looks evil and ready to rule the world.

Thank you. :)

I took your advice and decorated her home in the Science Theme, now I need to save enough caps to buy all the extra items (especially the My First labratory and Infirmary, can't have a proper lab without those). I'm a little annoyed because the game glitched and my suite lost the blue hue that comes with the Science Theme and now I have a brightly lit labratory. I liked it better with that dark blue hue because it reminded me of the lab in Resident Evil 5 where Excella worked. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with a bright and cheery evil lab.

An interesting thought. Roleplaying as Mario. Flame weapons only and jumping everywhere.

Yeah, just make him wear a Brahmin Skin Outfit and Red Baseball Hat and give him dark hair and a big mustach.

Always having cave fungus with you is a must if you roleplay as him. We all know how Mario loves his mushrooms. :)

He'd be right at home in Oblivion.

Not really, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167354-write-a-character-sheet-for-your-courier/page__view__findpost__p__17185417, I play the same character in NV that I did in F3.

Well I think more people should try it, it's actually very fun because it lets you use your creativity even more, especially if you play the vanilla game. For example if the character you are basing him/her on is living in the Capital Wasteland, how would they react based on how they behaved in the game they came from? What items, weapons, and outfits would your character use that are similar to what they used in the game?

I'm having all sorts of fun taking that into consideration with my current character.

No, I've never thought of this. Pribably because I've yet to run out of characters I could role-play as. Which is saying a lot considering ohm much I've actually played this game.
