Every annoying Npc is essential "smart"

Well, you can highlight the armor, gun or chem workstation in sanctuary, say, and just move them somewhere else within the settlement. I mean, the chem workstation is behind some random house - I like all my workstations near each other. :)

Er, to clarify, you just highlight the station while in workshop mode and place it where you want it to be - like you would any piece of furniture or building item.

Ah yes, but not the starting WORKSTATION in the heart of every settlement, right?

When I was in build mode and selected an npc I saw the Move option. I thought it was so I could move them out of my way while I was building. Instead I got a menu with a list of my settlements. That was good to know :)

I send all the ghouls to a remote outpost and all the whiners to one out west that I rarely visit.

My follower dumping ground is Starlight and my main base is Red Rocket near Sanctuary. Only the good people go to RR.

I abandoned Sanctuary as I don't like it.

I don't mind a "..my daddy taught me, with duct tape you can fix anything.............i don't think he was talking about bullet holes though." every now and then from 'ol Sturg.

This thread reminds me that I've never killed any of the so-called "really annoying" characters in any Beth game....

Marcy sits in her own little corner of the wasteland, where she can be away from me and bother other people.

That's good as I started fixing up the castle and don't want to setup a becon to invite everyone (settlers didn't stop showing up after shutting it down at another spot).

You don't have any ghoul settlers come to the beacon? I only have Red Rocket setup for 10 and a ghoul is amongst them.

I've had like 3 ghoul settlers (and first ever seen one with black skin) and i sent them all to the slog, a ghoul settlement.

Just because she is killable doesn't mean the player has to kill her. To make her immortal for the players who want to be ruthless the option should be there. Its the friggin post apocalypse with super mutants eating humans and ghouls yet lets make every human immortal and lets make everyone completely happy and good. This game needs mods in order to be in a playable state. Also someone with those pre-war morals would have to adapt to life as it is today. You can't honestly expect everyone to be outright good or evil then why even have a story at all if all characters are completely 1 sided and vanilla?

Which unless you're a drugged up raider still includes not shooting people in the face for petty things like just being annoying.

I have my sanctuary radio tower being funky. When I switch it "on" (switch in on position and green light showing) it passes electricity but the beacon doesn't broadcast. When I turn it "off" (red light showing) it doesn't pass electricity but the radio broadcast kicks on. Found this out by listening it with my radio. None others behave this way, it's at some point got offset to the toggle and now just.. toggles. I wonder if scrapping it and making new one would fix it but haven't got around trying it.

Yeah Marcy is a nightmare. She always sleeps in my bed too. It's like a punishment or something, if I don't explicitly build beds for these people they will sleep in mine in my pre war home. Even if you create beds for them there will usually be some new settler's ghoul ass stinking up your bed when you get home.

You can't move any of the original named settlers anywhere.

I'm thinking of building a jail for annoying NPC's like Marcy.

Maybe you can lure her to a spot by assigning her to something like a guard post or a stall, then quickly deleting the guard post or whatever and building four walls around her.

Worked with Mama Murphy for me (of course she was sitting down) so I don't see why it wouldn't work for Marcy. She got stuck in a corner yesterday while I was building housing. Oddly, so did Codsworth and we was nowhere near me at the time.

This is my biggest gripe with the game. I feel like I have NO bearing on where this story is going, whatsoever. Generic good guy having to always do the good guy thing. I can't insult people, I can't double cross them, I can't really break out of the save-your-son routine and it svcks.

Awww poor baby. One game where you can't be a sociopathic freak!

Meh... I've got a dozen other games where I can do that (including F3 & FNV!) so I can deal with having to be the good guy until we get the mods so that we can change that. It's new. We'll make it darker before too long. :)

I was being sarcastic. Just the way it's designed I guess. Hardly worth complaining about. I'm sure we'll come up with a mod solution since I doubt Beth is going to rewrite the game.

I am pretty sure these NPCs get created deliberatly for threads like this. :)

In my second playthrough I ignore the Minutemen completly and it works out pretty well. Only in Vault 81 I had to lie a bit to the school children.

Preston can wait forever to get rescued from these Raiders. Sorry Preston and Marcy there wont be a saviour for you ever.
