every creature should be very unique

in oblivion everything always either charged in or ran away firing arrows/spells. really repetitive.

ideas

animals that bite should actualy NOT LET GO. i dont want wolves headbutting me, i want them attempting to sink their teeth into me, bringing me down to the floor where they can rip my characters throat.

flying creatures should fly realisticly- oblivion didnt have anything flying at all (imps dont count) and morrowind had creatures hovering in the air and playing attack animations- i want flying enemies to fly past the player doing an attack as they pass in a bombing run way- forcing me to carefully time my swing. or i want flying creatures to stay out of reach and hurl fire down on me- forcing the player to hide/switch to ranged.

i want some enemies (particularly spiders) to WALK ON WALLS!!!!.- ever played aliens vs predator (1999/2)?- fighting aliens is utter insane. they could drop from the roof, climb up from below you, they could spring out of walls, they didnt just run across the floor, they ran on every thing. you might find that in a corridor you would have to shoot the two aliens sprinting along the roof, the alien running at you on the ground, and that alien trying to sneak up on you on the wall behind- it was VERY scary and VERY intense.

and it would be great for a spell effect

i want enemies to be able to pop up from the ground

they should just wait for the player- then they pop out.
especialy cause i demand ICE VAMPIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh, and enemies that form once you get there- the " ice wraith " shown in the gi looks cool- but wouldent it be awsome if skelletons were piles of bones until the player went near/triggered something ?

Some of that sounds good and pretty obvious, but enemies walking on walls sounds AWESOME!

Another thing I'd like is for animals to not stop right where they are to attack, like a lot of them (mountain lions excepted) will chase you down as you run away on low health, reach you, stop, attack, and miss, and that repeats until you find somewhere safe, eg. a rock that you can jump on and they can't because they are [censored] (another thing that must change). Umm... i'm getting a bit OT so I'll stop now.

A bunch of that stuff would be awesome, yeah... and I bet that spiders won't be a simple "Blargh! I crawl at you!" enemy.

The animations used for knockdown attacks of wolves, bears, mabari hounds etc., in Dragon Age were great.

I want Vampires to drag you down into the icy waters of Skyrim.

I want zombie hands shooting out from the ground to grab a hold of my foot and keep me there while his zombie/skeleton buddies hobble over to me to finish the deal.

I think to enhance this creatures should have ranges, much like weapons.

I.e. Rat's Bite; Dmg 3-10, Claw; 1-5

Therefore, if it's randomized you might go up against two rats at the same time.. one on a B;10, C;3 and another on a B;2, C;5

Would make it different each time.

With regards to making enemy creatures unique how about even within the same type.

In the Witcher they include randomisation for the size and colour of enemies within specific limits of couse.

This means even if you are fighting hundreds of exactly the same creature they all look slightly different.

All of this sounds really great - although spiders scuttling along the walls and ceilings terrifies me haha! I like the idea of some skeletons being piles of bones until you "trigger" them - it would make dungeon diving much more tense I reckon, wondering if it is just a pile of rubble and bones...
Spiders climbing walls and ceilings would also be very cool with shadows as well, imagine creeping into a torchlit cavern, when suddenly an eight-legged shadow flutters past... :cold:

Spiders dangling from the ceiling suddenly covering your face (not a lot of damage but may cause poison effects). - awesome.
In a cave with a high ceiling, light not being able to reach all the way up, then 50 bats react and fills the air (disease carriers) - awesome.
Dogs and wolves not letting go. I'm all for it, but seems very hard to get right.

I want Vampires to drag you down into the icy waters of Skyrim.

This would be so cool, and I think Bethesda will implement it since they're fond of their lore (I hope).

Also see my thread on realistic animal behaviors. I think wolves shouldn't attack if they don't outnumber you or they're very hungry. Bears shouldn't attack unless you're threatening them or their cubs, or if they're very hungry obviously.

I second the underground zombies very cool.

More creature verity would be nice. After i played oblivion, one of the ideas I had was creature clothes. It's not exactly what it sounds like. They are not actual clothes. They would be different body parts that would have both a visual effect and a game play effect on creature who wears them. A good example is the guardian from shivering isles.

these seem like unique ideas for the enemy ai, nothing seems frustrating here, great thinking

I don't know why everyone is so worried about the AI. AI is going to be great, stop worrying.
