Every time I walk into Dragonsreach in Whiterun, I get attacked.

I've done nothing.

I have no bounty and I haven't done anything to make them dislike me.

Is this is glitch?

If so, is there a workaround?

Help anyone?

I had this and I don't think I did anything wrong. Reload auto saves. I loaded back about 30-45 minutes and everything seemed fine.

I don't keep autosaves.

Check your 'crime' tab, you must have done something to turn them hostile. If not, then it's a glitch, so just reload from an earlier save and see what happens.

Then load a normal save from some time ago?

Are you doing the .. Because the same thing happen to me and it only stopped when I put on the stormcloak cuirass.

I only have one save I keep overwriting.

I always have in every TES game.

You're doing it wrong.

Seriously though, that's really a horrible thing to do in a huge, bug-filled game like TES. So many things could happen that could screw up your save, and if you only have one, you're kind of screwed. I'm up to around 250 save files, myself.

Ouuch, then good luck. The reason I have multiple saves about 10 that get overwitten in a cycle from oldest is because of things like this. I'm sorry I can't help you

I figured out a workaround, even though I felt stupid as hell doing it.

I walked up to Dragonsreach and attacked a guard. I was charged with assault and I paid a bounty.

After that, I could walk into Dragonsreach no problem.

Hope this helps others who have the same issue.

I think your going to have to re-roll your character if you can't fix it. Next time just save a lot more saves. If you like me don't like having a really long list then make 10 or 20 saves and cycle through the list to overwrite old games that way depending on how often you save you should have at least a 4-6 hour old save somewhere that can get you out of any sticky bug/glitch situation or just sticky situation.

Edit: Good fix I never thought of that because I spent half the time trying to figure how you could yield to them without knowing what/if I had commited a crime in the first place I would still say that you should have more than one save though.

Make sure from now on you have at least 5-10 save files that you alternate between so next time something happens you can just reload an earlier save.

You didn't kill a chicken did you? Townspeople REALLY hate that. I did it once and had the entire city turn on me.

I tried this and the guards just kept slaughtering me (guessing it was from my helper constantly attacking them). Instead I tried going down to the village and stealing something simple off one of the stands in the middle. Guard came up and for 5 bounty took me to dragonsreach. I entered and no more attacking.
Hope this helps anyone else cause it was annoying the hell out of me.

One of my characters have this problem, I had just killed the dragon at the west tower, and they instantly tried to kill me on entry to the hall, so I walked directly to high rothgar instead. Don't know if they are still mad.

Its a known bug for Whiterun/Dragonreach. All I can figure so far, is it eather has to do with crime reporting chickens (This is a real issue), or somehow you get flagged as hostile to the people of Whiterun/DragonReach (I think this may have something to do with fast travel). Your not the first person to have this issue, nore will you be the last.

No one has figured out what's causing this yet?

Make a new character and be careful this time.

Same here... I just came from whiterun and had no issues, came right (forgot something at my home) back into town and guard yells at me. Had to pay 1500 bounty or he attacked. Very strange.
