Is Everyone in Skyrim an Insomniac?

Post » Sun Aug 10, 2014 9:37 pm

You know the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood are all about characters in the shadow. So much for being a thief in the shadows, when I can only seem to be able to do the bedlam jobs during the day.

Maybe it's [censored] lucky. I created a new character, his name is Forlorn or really that's his code name. Anyway Forlorn is an orphan beggar, who grew up on the streets. He's my robin hood esque character, but don't get me wrong he kills if his life is in danger.

Point being is Forlorn never steals anything at night and it's starting to bother me.

12 am at midnight, perfect time to sneak into a home and steal some stuff. [The Bedlam jobs are my favorite, no fancy jeweled candlesticks or goblets magically appearing, it's good old fashion burgulary at it's finest]

Every [censored] time

12 am, are they sleeping? Nope lady is cooking a midnight meal

1 am, are they sleeping? Nope lady/man is stting at the table just sitting there

3 am, are the [censored] finally sleeping? Nope someone is walking up and about

5am, are they sleeping now! No.

I have went through all the night time, timelines and every time someone is still up. In Oblivion people slept at these hours. I don't really feel like a thief in the shadows because the only time I can steal something is during the bright day at like 8am in the morning because everyone left their houses and went shopping. I am not a thief in the shadows, I am the Thief of Convenience because no one around here sleeps.

Is everyone in Skyrim just an insomniac?

I know what you mean! During the day, most of the people vacate their houses. During the night, they are there, but just do NOT sleep! Even coing into a "walled town" (aka: zone change), people will be walking in the streets, no matter what time of day it is.

It's a bit frustrating. That's why I really have labeled my character Thief of Convenience.

It might be my imagination, but I swear if I check on them at twelve and then go back in 1-2 hour increments, the people never do go to sleep. But if I just wait to break in until 3-4, then they are asleep.

The sad thing is Forlorn has a high enough sneak. The man stole some dwemer struts right in front of a man readng a book and the man never batted a [censored] eye. But that's not the point. I want to sneak into a house when people are sleeping and have them wake up going, "oh no!"

Haha yeah I know what you mean. Skyrim sometimes requires a lot of suspended disbelief.

People actually do sleep. Out of all the houses I robbed, 90% of them had people sleeping.

The first house I ever snuck into was the Battle-Born house in Whiterun. One of the women in there sent bandits after me, so at night, I snuck into their house, killed the girl (who was sleeping next to her mom lol) then left

Some of them may be asleep, but usually, not all of them. Someone will be cooking, sitting at a table, or something "wakeful." I was retreiving some itmes from the Battle-Borns when I came this http://i.imgur.com/blxSBlo.png. Kinda creepy, if you ask me :)

NOthing like waking and finding your grown ass son, just staring at you while you are cuddled up.
