Now now, the game won't be perfect at least for a while. Skyrim will most likely be cause headaches and orphanages will be burned because of launch issues.

Are you high? We don't know how amazing the game will be, and most people are pretty happy so far.

Ya, right. Well, when they water down your favorite combat style so it can be used in bar fights, don't come crying to me.

I agree with you man. People here are just expressing themselves. Hell they wouldn't be here in the first place if they weren't at least mildly interested in buying the finished product. People love things about games and it makes an imprint. Change is always problematic, but not always bad. They just want to get their two cents in. Trust me there are plenty of folks like you and me on these forums and all across the gamersphere in fact.

It has been said many times that it is lethal by Pete Hines. There are pictures of people using it on Bethblog so it can't be that bad.

It's important that people give their opinions also, important to us and bethesda.

They didn't water down spellmaking. They removed that. I'm upset about that too. The thing is magic can still be effectively used in combat. So if you like a mage, at least you can still fight dragons with magic. Me? My hth character will be held to bunnies and bar fights.

There's a difference here. Magic lost spellmaking, but can still be used in combat and if you like magic you still can use a different version effectively. For hand to hand characters? The kittens get a special animation. Fantastic.

Killing is one thing. Being able to improve and get better at killing is another. With hth not tied to a skill, and thus there being no perks for it, the last hope for it is stamina. What's horrible about that you ask? How can I get better at punching by punching, when I have to level other skills up just so my character can level up so I can put points into stamina, and not be upset?

To be honest I forgot how boring spell making is until I played Oblivion again yesterday. It's like playing with a calculator for fun.

I am sorry but it makes perfect sense that hand to hand should not be a skill considering what you will be fighting. dragons. And don't give me that lore [censored], there were all kinds of ridiculous [censored]in things in the in game books, such as a nord woman who could dual wield axes and fell trees in a single blow. riiiiiiiight.

So? Contrary to popular belief, the game is not designed around dragons. Just because something wouldn't bode well against dragons doesn't mean it has no place in the game.

Right. Daggers should be perfectly viable when fighting dragons...but hth? Psh. Unrealistic. Totally unrealistic.

Look, you are obviously stuck in your ways, but I understand what you are saying and I can see how you can be mad. You could indeed wear armor while you are fighting, do some pickpocketing ect to level up. I'm sure Todd said you can put your points on Magicka, Health and Stamina regardless of what you have done. I think you are making a big deal out of it if am right, if I'm not then yeah, you should be mad.

Was it confirmed anywhere that it uses stamina?

No, it wasn't confermed. It's just the blind hope of a few of us who pray that hth is tied to something rather than being static.

All that's really known is that it's not tied to a skill.

Not that the h2h hasn't been beat to a pulp, but i think they have improved it in ways we will be thoroghly surprised with. Out side of kitty swipes and bar fights, i got a feeling we''ll see fists flying in more interesting ways. AND still be able to RP a blind drunken bareknuckle brawler quite effectively.

I believe this will be the case for many of the things that people are complaining about, and on day one they will collectively go.... "Oh. Well that's not so bad now is it?"

besides what game out there is giving what Bethesda can?

I'll ask Pete and hope he answers. I wouldn't mind trying a hand to hand character myself. I have been recently playing Fallout NV. Not a great game, but hand to hand was really viable (power fists!) and I enjoyed it for the first time.

GOD KNOWS why they took it out. I only hated it in previous ES games because there were no knuckle dusters or anything along that line. It also felt like none of my hits ever connected.
