I'm sorry, what? The wim of nature? Red-eyed genes? What? That's even as bad as hearing why the Dunmer voice changed.
Considering you have a man-god who's part gold and part gray, who cares about genes? (Then again, he's different...)We don't even know how inheritance actually works in Tamriel and you're extrapolating it using real-world phenomena. I mean, the mother being the major source of characteristics of the offspring
Please get a grip. They're arbitrary rules created by the devs to make their lives during game development easier.
No, no, no, you're all wrong.
The secret behind how the Chimer became the Dunmer and the Dwemer became "gone" is completely different.
It all was just a huge race-wide tavern crawl which escalated a little. See, the Chimer challenged the Dwemer to a huge drinking contest and things just got out of hand. Nerevar began digging Dumac's wife (or the other way round, Almalexia IS a prime target) and then a real big tavern brawl began, imagine two whole races totally drunk going at each other's throats. Epic! As is evidenced by history, the Dwemer lost and got literally pounded to dust by the Chimer. Exit Dwemer. However, that whole drunken brawl left its traces on the Chimer, too, red eyes from excessive alcohol consumption and ashen-dark skin from being totally exhausted and drunk (ever looked at those horrible dark circles around the eyes after nights without sleep and too much alcohol? Scale that unto mythic proportions and you become a Dunmer without pointy ears). As a bonus, their voices became rough - due to the alcohol and that whole loud screaming during the fight - and their grumpy attitude to all non-Dunmer is easily the result of that huge hangover the now-Dunmer must have had. And that whole result of the brawl just stuck with the Dunmer. Or, better yet, reenacting that brawl is a secret initiation rite to all young Dunmer coming of age - which we will never witness because all citizens of whole Tamriel keep their children hidden in the closets until they've grown up.
See, all's easy.
Now, I wonder if I should post that to the FSG...
