Steam says (at the time of this posting) "This game will unlock in approximately 1 week, and 16 hours". That would put it at 3 AM EST.
Which is it?

I hope Steam actually unlocks it on time for once, I hate waiting for a game to come out and then not have it unlock until 6 in the morning EST. How hard is it to unlock a game on time?
Well, I'm not waking up to play. I took the day off but I'll get up at 5:30 (EST) like normal, shower, make breakfast while the final STEAM files load. Eat. See the wife off to work and kids to college. Turn off the lights and turn up the speakers. And play ... spending the first three hours in the CC trying to make my wife look like Scarlett Johansson.
They always do that. They will always release late.
its a server problem: lots of people's game need unlocking = lots of traffic casuing a back up
Who knows? Everyone is going to be downloading it at once so it's probably going to crash steam anyway.
Steam will update the countdown closer to launch. In my experience, if we're told it will unlock at midnight, it will. Steam is built to handle the traffic, so big game releases generally don't present a problem for the servers. Sometimes they slow down a bit (happens during the big Steam sales), but they seldom crash.
yeah i hope they allow to star pre-load this Friday on Steam.
Well I won't receive mine till 12th, so will miss that early rush.
But I hope some of you early pc downloaders will find time to post here exactly how big the download is. Then I will know how much add-on Gb to buy.
?
shouldn't be much different that the Xbox one that ppl post already 28.1Gb i think it was
Would be nice if you could download some of it before release date, minus the .exe for example.. On release day you could download the rest. 30Gs is a lot to download at once.
Oh wow. 7.50 for 5gb chunks, so 6X7.50 =
This game is working out to be quite expensive.
That's typically what Steam does, and BGS has already confirmed that there will be a pre-load. It should start a few days before release. The downloaded files remain encrypted until release time so people can't poke around.
On ps4 my games always unlock at 2a.m. I have no idea why.
pre-loads usually begin a day or two before release.
That stinks, my friend. Is there perhaps a coffee shop or something?
When I'm up near my mom's place outside Asheville, I routinely go to the grocery story or my favorite restaurant when I need to download something.
Asheville is nice this time of year, what with the leaves changing and all that.
I suppose a coffee shop would work if you are playing on a laptop. Don't know how slow that would be though. How much coffee can you drink in one day? Luckily I have cable/WiFi in the house and all's good there. Don't know how long it will take to load but I'm sure it will all be pre-loaded before I play Tuesday morning.
