I've done blood on the ice multiple times, both pc and now ps3 .. I've done favors for people in Windhelm .. I've never ever had the option to purchase Hjerim.

Now I've done blood on the ice on the ps3 and some favors and yet again I have NO option to purchase this home.

That I also don't get the option on the pc version boggles me.. Did Bethesda not intend for this home to be purchased?

The wiki is absolutely UNhelpful. Zero information on specifically how to purchase this home.

My character is a Dark Elf male so It would be natural for him to want to live there with his fellows.

So then How?

Is there some super top secret way to get this dialog?

It is the only house given to you when you do the Civil War. Both sides give it you, but the Stormcloaks give it you sooner than the Imperials (they give it you at tje end for obvious reasons).

Oh right.. so because I could care less about that war..

I believe that during the civil war, you have to take Whiterun for Ulfric in order to be granted the option, PLUS, you have to do Blood on the Ice.
