Exactly 4 Months Till Release

Post » Tue Jul 12, 2011 3:39 am

With release only a few months away I wonder what the priority is in development of the game at this stage. I would like to think they are still adding features however I suspect they are just polishing and QA'ing what they already have.

I assume that they will prob have to have a complete and working game a month before release to give time for disk production. So possibly they only have 3 months left. Can we assume that the features they have at this stage are locked and if so, do youthink they will start to release more info about these features now that they should have them working?

The new WWE video game is coming out within a matter of days from Skyrim and I recently saw a video from them where they said they are just in the bug testing and fixing phase , so that might be about the same place that Skyrim is , done but just making sure its polished and (at least mostly) bug free

I always have wondered how long it takes to make about 1,000,000 copies of a game though.... I do wonder how long that part takes them

I think most of it is wraqed up, Beth is now in the placing stage where they get everything where it needs to be. Any other last minute additions or other things that they are testing is probably where they are at now.

4 months to go "Dah Winning". :celebration:

I wonder about in progress features. Stuff they have been working one, how long do they have to have things pretty much completed? Lets take for example.... werewolves, yeah I said it
Im being serious though, with a team of 200ish and 4 months left they are no doubt still working on current and WIP features no?

Yeah polishing the game, bug hunting and ALOT of time spent playing the game from beginning to end as well as trying every possible ingame action and quest from a variety of angles. I :tes: Todd mentioned that there is no way they can quash all the bugs by release because it depends on how everyone plays it, and whether they try A B and C whereas the next person may try B A and C, but Bethesda are pretty good and patching! I would imagine it would be a remarkably busy yet exciting time as in 4 months they will be able to finally show off their pride and joy to the world in its entirety!

They're still creating the first textures and models :D What they've shown so far is actually a rip-off from another, unknown game.

Well, I'm sure that it'd take a shorter amount of time to test a WWE game for bugs than Skyrim ..

100. Not 200.

My guess is adding some new small features, dungeons and sidequests, with lots of testing and polishing existing features.

Opps, but yeah its still quite a lot of people. Maybe they are working on DLC concepts, though they did say they want to see feedback and what players want before they do that...

I doubt it, they said they're focusing on the main game and not thinking abour DLC yet.

I think I read somewhere that they're just fixing bug's. I know from previous games that bugs can vary between hardly noticable to oh... That could ruin the game. Meaning it gets delayed. I don't mind a few bug's / glitches being in the game (Some can be entertaining). Right now my only worry is Skyrim being delayed. :tes:

Right now they are checking if the gameplay is solid and puting the finishing touches on it and maybe implement new stuff in as well.

Oh my god, I didn't realize it was so close now, I'm still thinking its like a whole year away but I didn't realize Summers almost over now, and Fall and Winter are soon to follow, this is awesome, the greatest game of my lifetime is on the home stretch.

Haven't seen Thunderjunk or Vsions posting in the Dev Thread much, if at all, so we can assume they're super busy.

Maybe it's "Crunch Time"

If they're not in beta by now I would be really surprised. Basically that means that the game is complete, and the only things that will be added from this point forward are bug fixes.

I imagine they're sitting around eating biscuits while watching The Sopranos. That's what I'd be doing if I was a game developer. Bethesda, you should totally hire me...

I hope most of them are polishing. I hope the rest of them are doing jet and working hard, well as hard as they can being on jet and all, on Fallout 4.

4 Months till release, but keep in mind games typically go gold and get sent to whoever is actually going to produce the DVD's, stuff em in boxes, etc. about a month or so prior. So the dev's really have just around 3 month's they can actually still touch the game. As for what they are working on? Hard to tell, I wouldn't think they've hit the drop dead date for adding new features/content yet but they are probably pretty close.

Yup.

They could be adding vampires, werewolves, mammoth racing, spearbows(?) and dinosaur mounts even as we speak.

Go go go BGS devs!

I remember when fable 2's co-op was in question before release. PM did an interview in mid August and stated the co-op would have to come in update form if at all,due to the game already being printed and packaged for release on October 21st. So who knows how Bethesda does it. You can only be sure that when you hear "Master Gold status"is the game really done, and there won't be delays nor will more content added until its DLC time.

Fixing stuff we complained about in the E3 demo, like the giant, bandit reactions, disappearing bats, etc.
