i am an idiot. i play patchless xbox without xbox live soldiering on without daring an energy or explosives build. no laser iron sights worry me and the value, availablitily and dam of explosives seemed waaaaaaay off the balance fo3 had. but this new patch looks quite the dandy. sooooo being a fossil when it comes to tech i was wondering if someone could explain the ins and outs of xbox live to me. will i have to sign up for a year just to get a patch?i bought a disc on release and don't fancy buying it again. i can't find on the xboxlive site after signing up for free how to get the patch, and how would i get it from the screen on my laptop to my xbox?

by the way, will this new fix make the deathclaw disposal technique viable once more?

this used to be widely accepted on fo3 forums but i havent heard it once here

1. Connect your xbox to internet.
2. Upgrade your account to Live.
3. Follow the instructions.
4. When upgraded to [Silver] start the game.
5. Download the patch.

Done.

You don't need to have it plugged into Live any more after that nor do you need to buy [Gold] to get the patch.
[Silver] is free.

So basically, all you need to do once you got Live to work is to start the game and an automated message will ask if you want to download the latest update for the game.
(The latest patch has not been released to xbox yet though but will be later this week.)

I went through hell and back trying to get live for my xbox, if you have any problems just shoot me a pm and I'll be glad to help.

Connect to Internet. Go to account management. Hit " join xbox live". And if you choose silver it's free. But if you have friends that play live or if you want Netflix instant stream on your tv. I suggest paying for gold it's well worth it

so i believe i dowmloaded xbox live and updated fallout new vegas. i had signed up on my laptop and eventually worked how to recover my gamertag on my xbox. when i turned on new vegas all my achievements and saves were wiped. fair enough, i was planning to start over anyway. so i whizzed thru docs house and ran over the hill to get the confirm build pop up, but still nothing appeared in game with regards to a patch/update. how do i know it worked?

survival is now governed by END rather than INT, so it worked right?!?!?

really really looking forward to playing ths later!! (flatmates want to put a film on now)
